You know you've been reading/watching too much Forever Knight when half the time
you read the paper, you start getting ideas for fan fiction plots. Too many ideas,
not enough time to write! :D

It is hard to imagine a worst case sceneario with Hitler not being there. He
was the moving force behind Nazi Germany. One can only view films the adoring
Germans screaming for him. Lacroix should have killed him. No ifs and buts.
True the world would have been different, but not worse. JudyL

I hate to say this, but I think it *could* have been worse. I'm pretty sure
Hitler was at least 9/10ths crazy - can you imagine if someone only 8/10ths
crazy was in charge? We might all be speaking German... What would have
been better (if only) would have been Lacroix had gone back later and killed
Hitler just before he became "popular". Then the whole movement might have
falled apart.

I hope that's what you're looking for. BTW, if this message comes out
looking squirrelly, forgive me; it's my first time posting to the list (
after lurking for about a year! )

The thing I would think to remember is that Hitler did not kill everyone
himself. Also, he didn't completely force himself upon everyone.
The way the world was right then, *anyone* could have gotten the power that he
did. The people where looking for a Hero, a Father, a leader.
weither the hero was evil or good at heart didn't really seem that apparent.
Even to today people don't believe that there ever was a holocosat (SP?).
Yes, Hitler started and basicly lead the beganing, but if you really look into
things, Hitler was more apt to watch an opera/play than much else.
Yes, he believed in, and bred voleance (SP?), but all in all, he did not do it
alone, many many officers *chose* to kill people, doctors chose to do inhuman
experents on jews, the disabled, twins, "midgets", "giants" and the mentally
ill.
It really is all up to choice. To follow a leader that appears semi-god like, to
kill people deemed to be a lesser race, to worship a man with a sick mind...
Even if he was killed, or even killed himself earlier: Who is to say that some
other person in the world was not/is not as strangely powerful, yet equally (if
not more) deranged?
YMMV, this all is just IMHO, I am just stating my 1/25 of a cent worth.
This discussion kinda scares me: for how many flames can be produced over a
simple discussion about "what if?"

This thread is rapidly straying away from FK. Please remember to keep posts
directly related to Forever Knight. (Token comments tacked on to messages
don't qualify.)

While discussions of time travel, synchronicity, and the nature of evil can be
fascinating - forkni-l isn't the place for them.

Cute!!! I'm wanting a few of those. (No cash,
though) What I always wanted to see was shirts with
our favorite scene/line printed on them. Mine would
have Nick dangling that one guy (that killed his
fiancee) out the window with the line "Think of the
paperwork if you drop him!"

Yeah, it scares me, too. Definitely an emotional issue--can we get back to
FK, please?
