Subject: Interesting Note About April 1st

I just noticed on Sci-fi's site that for April 1st, they don't have even
their p.m.'s listed (only a.m.'s), and all their other days do have them
both.

http://www.scifi.com/schedulebot/index.php3?date=1-APR-2002&feed_req=US:Cent
ral:E

It looks like they don't have that day quite layed out yet. If you compare
March 1st to April 1st, you'll see what I mean. So, this is a good sign for
the marathon. Also, to submit an event Sci-fi has to approve it. There's an
e-mail form.

Just noticed something else on Sci-fi's schedule posted. Look carefully at
the jump from a.m. to p.m.:

April 1st:

6:30 AMPAID PROGRAMMING
7:00 AMVOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA
8:00 AMLAND OF THE GIANTS

as a fact.

Subject: Thanking TPTB (particularly Sci-fi)

Hi everyone,

Here's all the addresses you need, both snail mail and e-mail to thank the
powers that be for returning our show to the USA. Be sure to especially
write Sci-fi. This is a semi-form of the regular blitzes.

E-MAIL:

Sci-Fi's E-mail: feedback@w....... and/or program@w.......

E-mail: tnt@t.......
(and place in the subject line: "To The Attention Of The Vice-President of
Programming")

You also may call TNT's Viewer Comment and Question Line at (404) 885-4538,
however we ask that any phone calls be in addition to letters and e-mails.

For snail mail, send to:
Vice-President of Programming
TNT 1010 Techwood Drive, NW
Atlanta, GA 30318

Sony/Tristar Mail Form: http://www.spe.sony.com/spe/help_feedback_index.html

When e-mailing TriStar,(especially) give as much personal info as you
can...rather than just an e-mail name. A bit more personal carries more
weight with TPTB.

SNAIL MAIL:

Please note there is NEW BLOOD to write to!! They are in the middle of a
hostile takeover of USA Networks. V/U currently owns 40% of USA and are now
trying to gain complete control of the Network from Barry Diller. This is a
great time to write a letters to Mr. Messier of V/U asking for more FK.

Liz is completely correct. The Marathon is indicated because FK is listed at
11am and then John Edwards is next at 11pm. Of course the weekday 11am FK
program is also listed throughout April.

Rather than keeping on TV's all over one's house.....write letters of praise

Subject: The Alice List

Lewis Carroll Allusions in "Curiouser & Curiouser"

1) The episode title
2) Walrus & cat masks on the Raven robbers
3) A blonde female vampire in the Raven looks very Alice-like
4) The plastic caterpillar Nick steps on
5) Bunny girls in background at the precinct station
6) Man in madhatter's tophat in b.g. at the precinct station
7) ...and another man in blue silk cape and sparkly tophat.
8) I.A. investigator's name is Carol Lewis
9) ...and behind her, the wall's measuring marks go up to 7 ft.
10) Lacroix drinking tea & standing on the chessboard
11) Man w/oversized cards at the Raven's bar
12) Nick's fridge has a walrus magnet on it (really a manatee??)
13) ...and another, too-small-to-make-out white magnet. A cat or rabbit?
14) Fridge also contains a baby bottle with juice ("Drink me?")
15) ...and a cake with one piece cut out ("Eat me?")
16) ...and are those OYSTERS in the jars under the meat-keeper?
17) The loft has a club-shaped mirror (but it's always there)
18) ...and a Humpty-Dumpty inflatable toy
19) ...and a baby mobile with dodos (& flamingos?)
20) ...and a stuffed unicorn (see 'Through the Looking Glass' ch. 7)
21) ...and a crying baby ("He only does it to annoy...")
22) ...also a March Hare in a blue band costume on a table
23) ...and a white rabbit (with tophat) on another table under the mirror
24) In the film lab: Schanke has a pocket watch
25) ...and the sound tech's name is Alicia Carpenter
26) Schanke says "And pigs can fly!"
27) Amanda's bartender wears a Raven jacket with a white queen on it
28) Natalie has a Wonderland character chess set
29) ...and a painting that looks a lot like Alice over her mantel
30) ...and maybe a stained glass cheshire cat (barely visible)
31) Nick keeps saying "Everything is all wrong." So did Alice.
32) Amanda says Nick was "mad as a hatter."
33) The knife ("His vorpal blade went snicker-snack...")
34) Janette falls asleep next to a teapot and a piece of cake
35) The dragon over Nick's fireplace is now a rabbit
36) ...and the other carvings look like Tweedledee & Tweedledum
37) Lacroix recites several Carroll poems
38) Tipsy Amanda says, "Oh my, perhaps I should have eaten something."
39) Does Janette's cold corned beef hash = the Duchess' pepper soup?
40) Ambulance drivers (cut from final version) were Tweedledee & Tweedledum
41) Schanke calls the Raven crowd "a kinky wake." (A Mad Tea Party?)
42) Amanda blows smoke in Nick's eyes (as the Caterpillar did to Alice)
43) Egg-shaped sculpture on Nat's mantel
44) ...as well as small spherically-pruned plants (the rose bushes?)
45) Amanda says there's no such thing as vampires: the unicorn thinks
Alice is "fabulous" (as in mythical)
46) Janette's dress at the Raven has hearts on it
47) The lighting *everywhere* (even in Nick's fridge) is flamingo pink (maybe
not a direct Alice reference, but a cool dream-effect)
48) Nick puts his hand to the mirror, just as Alice did
49) Are Lacroix's buttons on the white tunic Alice characters & objects?
50) Are references to the lake equal to Alice's pool of tears?
51) Is Nick's suddenly "growing up" to be a father = Alice growing taller?
52) "There's nothing like eating hay when you're faint," the King tells Alice
"Single malt liquor, there's nothing like it!" Nat tells Nick
53) The camera spins round and round Nick and Janette at the loft. The
sheep tells Alice, "You'll make me giddy...turning round like that!"
54) Lacroix's face floats on Nick's TV screen like the cheshire cat's
55) Nick's IA grilling parallels Alice's trial ("Off with her head!"/"Surrender
       your badge!")
56) And in the end, Nick falls (back) 'through the looking glass.'

The characters are also parallels:
Nick = Alice Schanke = The White Rabbit
     Janette = The Duchess/The Dormouse/The White Queen?
     Lacroix = Jabberwock/Cheshire Cat/White Knight/Mad Hatter?
Amanda = The Red Queen Natalie = The Queen of Hearts

input. :-)

Actually, that's a good idea. You could even bring a VCR with you to record
with (stick it in your luggage). Most hotels do have cable and basic cable
includes Sci-fi. You could even call and ask before checking in. :) Sure,
that'd sound a little odd, but if I was a Canadian fan and lived close
enough to the border to do it, I sure would.

I'm taking this as extremely hopeful--when you look at some of the old

Libs, you don't seem the type to let such things really bother you, but I
thought it was a balanced post -- you did say the issue was being checked

Yes, my boss is a Forever Knight fan too - so my excuse will be:

You are going to be doing your best to stay home and watch it, so you won't
know I'm not there anyway!

Showcase's schedule for reruns is kind of a rotational
one. Someone (I think from the list) told me that they
will probably bring FK back for next year after this
set of reruns are done.

Now if only VTV, who now calls itself CTV, would have
the brains to resume their weekend reruns...

Oh, don't worry. MANY of you wrote me very nicely to help me find the
listings... I wasn't the one verifying, but I DID check out the schedule
before posting it and it wasn't there at that time.

I figure that the couple of rather terse messages I got were from people who
weren't playing in the FK spirit we all know and love!!!! Yes, I know they
will see this. No, I won't name them, ever, as that wouldn't be fair to them
as they probably regret doing it <g>

an in-joke, though>.

The episode was from the 2nd season. It's called "Lie to Me". I must've
rewound and watched that scene 20 or more times. I thought the very same
thing. Ohmigod, Is that Nigel? Even though it isn't Nigel, it's obvious that
it's an ode to Lacroix and Forever Knight.

Hi all.
First, let me say I'm extremely pleased at Forever Knight returning.

And now a comment about the:

Lewis Carroll Allusions in "Curiouser & Curiouser"

May I add one thing. At the end of the episode, there is
a female officer in uniform. Her name tag reads Carol Lewis.
If you turn that around it becomes Lewis Carol (Carroll).

Delurking for a couple of items.

The various discussions of LK bring a question to mind. I would guess that
at least half of us were/are well into a box of Kleenex by the end of this
ep. Which line do you think is the last straw toward this effect? For me,
it's when Nat is in the loft and tells Nick that Tracy Vetter died twenty
minutes ago. Any control I might have had over my emotions before that
point is then completely gone.

On another note, I read in the SciFi Channel Newsletter that "Andromeda" has
been renewed for two more seasons. The article is in issue #252, for anyone
who wants to read it.

Subject: Letter-Writing Campaign

Will there be a letter-writing/thank-you-note-writing campaign? I think
Sci-Fi will be especially sensitive to responses from FK fans. Also, the
DVD people will perhaps notice FK is rerunning on TV again and that, coupled
with letters, will possibly awaken their attention more. If a
letter-writing campaign with faction competition is not feasible at the
moment, perhaps we could have a mini one of emails.

Still jittering around after the happy news,

I just sent the list the addresses to write yesterday, including Sci-fi of
course. If you need them again stop by my site and see the "Save the Knight"
section. I am the official letter counter for KTK as well, so anyone who
writes any snail mail letters, please let me know how many you've written
and which faction you belong with. If there's enough participation, I will
announce the results next month.
