Aren't vampire cells a special kind of 'dead' that is
called 'undead' or something? Wouldn't that mean they'll be
unable to reproduce life?

I'm rather confused about this dead-undead thing. I think
it's all Natalie's fault with her discovery of the vampire
virus that put the whole vampire universe out of balance.

Nick follows LC there in Dark Knight I or II. Are there any clues in
that ep as to it's location?

Nick also went there in Baby Baby, if I recall.

<<Is there any canon response to this? . . . When people are brought
across, do their eggs/sperm die? What I want to know is, can vampires
reproduce by artificial insemination or surrogate motherhood?>>

The best canon resources are second-season's "Baby, Baby" and, to a
lesser extent, first-season's "Last Act." I believe they're the only
episodes to explicitly address mortal-style reproduction by vampires, so
comparing fanfic ideas to them would reveal what fits. There are
possibilities.

In "Last Act" flashbacks (1690s), Erica muses sadly on vampiric
inability to have children; she does not differentiate between males and
females, but includes Nick in her "we" and "us" lament, implying no sexual
difference.

In "Baby, Baby," Serena's wild attempt to conceive by meeting certain
mystical and scientific requirements fails, but canon does not specify
_why_ it fails. Did she fail to meet the requirements correctly, or is the
legend simply false and her goal impossible? There are great fanfic
possibilities in reinterpreting the legendary rhyme fragment Lacroix
relates in "Baby, Baby," making it meet the needs of one's fanfic idea.

In the aftermath of third-season's "The Human Factor," one
interpretation held that Janette had achieved humanity not as she thought,
but rather by unwittingly following Serena's formula and conceiving, and
that the baby miscarried when she returned to vampirism.

Oddly, in a reverse of canon's explorations, many FK fanfic stories
allow vampire males to impregnate human females, but few FK fanfic stories
impregnate vampire females by any means. I understand that eggs are finite
from birth, while sperm replenishes throughout life; for an FK vampire,
this might mean that a vampire woman's eggs, formed in her humanity, remain
dormant and unchanged if extracted from her vampiric body, while a vampire
man's sperm would be useless or used up, as a vampire body would have no
need to replenish it. Contrarily, the finite supply of eggs might well
vacate the body over time, long before the current age of our vampire
female characters, while the replenishable sperm supply might well be
influenced by factors of diet and environment in the present day.

The FK vampire reproduces itself by converting already-born
people. It has no need to sire or bear children in the usual way, and
would seem to gain no competitive or evolutionary advantage from it;
therefore, it seems probable that the vampiric system would waste no
resources on deliberately maintaining human reproductive viability in a
vampiric body. I think any human-style reproductive capacity in an FK
vampire would most likely be the result of inertia or of tampering -- that
is, something left over, or something added.

Personally, I would reserve any ability to have children to humans
for thematic reasons, as articulated so eloquently in FK's "Last
Act." (Tangentially, HL's "The Sea Witch" and "Bless the Child" touch on
some similar themes.)

      Just some thoughts. :-)
