Subject: FK Alumni Alert for October
Well, hard to believe it's already October. Here's what I've found
so far, lots of Nigel stuff, and a nice mix of other stuff.
I've only had time to check the Satellite Guide, not online, but
wanted to get this out before I left for 5 days for a wedding.
I'll try to add more early next week, but if you all find anything,
please feel free to post. I'm trying to add some of the other
guests from FK, ones that I've seen many times in other movies
and shows. If you have a favorite that I've been missing, please
drop me a note. And, in response to a suggestion, I've added
the character's name and episode to the actor's names.
Hope you all find something you like!!! I've got a few to add
to my collection of tapes.
As always, please check your local listings for exact dates & times,
I have been known to make typos.

Others were constructed of linen or fishskin -- and unappealing as they
all were, a mere bagatelle to what women at various periods were
persuaded into using (including crocodile or elephant dung). Or the
disgusting concoctions imbibed by both genders in an attempt
to lessen fertility.
As we're sailing close to the wind on this topic, I shall refrain from
posting on it again. <g>

Ahm, guys, this is very interesting about the history of condoms, but it's
getting off topic. Please, let's go back to FK (including FK fans)now.
At least, I can't think of any way of relating this topic to the show without
becoming R or X rated. :)

delurking for this curious question...
I seem to remember reading somewhere that condoms were available as far
back as pre-christian times. I think, but could be way off-base, that the
Romans (or was it Egyptians?) had created one out of something like the pig
bladder or whatever that was mentioned here. This was a while ago, so my
memory of it is quite fuzzy... (Actually, I may have learned that HERE.
You are all a learned, intelligent bunch!)
But it did bring to mind the hilarious thought that our dear Uncle may have
more familiarity with this form of birth control than Nick. He might (ok,
it's not likely, but bear with me) even end up giving Nick a lesson in how
to use one!!
I can see it now -- Nick comes to LaCroix, shuffling, fidgeting, blushing,
not to mention a bit scared since he's now mortal. Let's just say they
have a truce, ok? Nick tries a few times to bring up his request, then
just throws down a box of condoms on the table. "Look, LaCroix, I know you
Romans used these. Just give me the quick version, ok? I promise I'll
stop calling your show with questions about your purple underwear." I can
see LaCroix now -- his eyebrow reaching new heights on his forehead...
I'll stop there! I hope this remained within PG-14 limits. Although I
believe you're never too young to hear about the importance of using 'this
product!' It can save your life!
Meanwhile, I've been meaning to post my own YKYBRTMFFW... actually just
make that You've Been Reading FK War Posts When...

to your boyfriend (who is trying to get you to let it go) that you are

Maybe this is what the Enforcers *want* the other vampires to think.
With all the dead and dying around, there could easily have been
another vampire around who saw the photos and snitched.

I think they don't go after Natalie for the simple reason that,
unlike the photographer and the woman from the TV show who taped
Nick, Natalie isn't planning on sharing the fact vampires exist with
anyone. Therefore it's unlikly they'd consider her much of a threat.
(Though they'd probably be keeping an eye on her, just in case.)

He could afford it - he was so THIN on that series!
Seriously, I do think Ger looks better with a little meat on him.
We poor mortals have to be careful; looking too thin = looking old.
How can ya smooch somebody's cheeks if they don't have any?
Now give that poor baby a piece of chocolate while we think about
lunch.
