Can you believe ListServ rejected the following plea? When did Lacroix
invade the mainframe?

"Help!
I know I saw a post not long ago giving the e-mail to that humongous fic
that was going to be posted at the ftp site, BUT I CAN'T FIND IT IN MY
E-MAIL! <sob!> Oh, the *agony*! The Angst!
(will anybody recognize this subtle hint to send me the addy or authoress
name pronto and with alarkedness?) <g>"

Kyer,

That story is on the ftp site. Here is the URL

ftp://ftp.win.net/winnet/fkvoyage/fkfanfic/deangelo_wanda/

You can either download it all at once or download it in 4 parts.

Personally, I think LaCroix probably wanted to remind himself of the
futility of high society politics, also, Sometimes you might want to take
someone out, and you just can't find a good time to bite them. :) Besides,
it is a cool ring.

I appologize, apparently the computer glitched, because I've recieved this
mail three times. I'll have to be more careful in the future.

Could Nick have let Lacroix bring Natalie safely across?

He could have, but I don't think he would ever have considered it. He
wouldn't have wanted Natalie to be under Lacroix's thumb the way he has been.

Oh Great Splintered One, I'm working late tonight at the office, but I will
certainly send you the addy as soon as I return to my humble (believe me, is
that an accurate description!) dwelling. Hopefully, you will not have to wait,
but I would regret losing the chance to do you service.

<Yeah, I know. But it's been a while since I've been in the CotK dog house and
I wanna keep it that way! Cork duty bites. And I'm a little behind in writing
my part of this round robin thingy, so....Hey, you try to deal with her when she
gets cranky!! "g">

Subject: Seize the Night

The trouble with translating "Seize the Night" is that Spanish doesn't have
a proverbial saying comparable to "Seize the day!". I wasn't sure whether to
use agarrar or aprovechar. So I asked a native speaker of the language
(from Uruguay) and she told me that aprovechar was what she would use. So:
        Aprovecha la noche. (informal singular)
        Aproveche la noche. (formal singular)
Aprovechen la noche. (formal plural in Spain, formal & informal
                                plural in Spanish America)
Aprovechad la noche. (informal plurl in Spain)

Subject: Updated FK FAQ

I've updated my FAQ on the Yahoogroups Forkni-l list to include vampire
family trees, more trivia about characters, and more. You'll find it at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/forkni-l/files/FKCHARS.txt

You may have to join the forkni-l list at yahoogroups.com first, in order
to view the file, but I think the link works okay without joining the list.

Anyone whose email client supports HTML messages will see the
formatted message with no visible HTML code. To verify this when
using Outlook or similar email clients right-click in the body of the
suspect message - if one of the options is "View Source" then your
client is HTML compatible.

I've been in contact with AOL support but they still recommend using
the webmail interface if you absolutely must send text only. You can
minimize the number of HTML tags that appear by always using the
default font (Arial 10) and avoid using any special formatting (bold, italic,
underlining, etc).

On a positive note they did say they are looking into the situation, so
maybe there is hope for a patch.
