I sent this to Lisa, and she suggested I post it to the list:

Is there something we (as a group) can do to thank PSU for letting us
use their computer for such an active list? It seems that they have
been exceedingly pleasant about letting us take up space on their
servers, and it seems that we should thank them somehow every now and
then.

I just don't think that all of sending e-mail to them would be quite
the correct way to approach this.

Do you have any ideas?

She answered:

H'mm, maybe a large package of M&M's to Bill Verity, who is the postmaster?
I will make sure of this if you'd like us to try it. The reason I know about
the M&M's is that in the first war, Laurie Salopek referred to his fondness
for them.

Anyone else have some ideas? I can just see Mr. Verity with 4 tons of M&M's...

Well, actually the address you gave is the *list* address. To subscribe,
you need to send a message to majordomo@t....... or access the
web-based interface at http://www.the-institute.net/vampyres/, as Vyrdolak
so kindly informed me when I sent a message to the address you
gave. :-) Minor details, huh?

I'm sorry, that is such a discredit to the
Nightcrawler. But then again that would make two blood
suckers!

Earlier this week, I decided to try out a new fandom at egroups just for
the heck of it -- in no way does this lessen my commitment to FK fandom!
Anyway, it's been fun, but it's made me realize something very important.
McLisa and Don do a superlative job in establishing and maintaining quality
lists for us! These other 2 lists don't have the rules and commitment to
standards that McLisa and Don maintain for us. I can't tell you how many
inane, redundant and bulky emails I've received. List Daddy'd probably be
the first to testify that I can be naughty at times (unintentionally!!) and
haven't been as aware of the rules as I should be. I've had my wrist
slapped a few times, but I have to say that I'm glad for the excellent job
that these two have done. I truly believe that the standards they have set
have influenced other FK lists to their betterment. I wish that I can say
that I won't mess up again, but you all know I probably will, and there may
come times when I get my feelings hurt by a stern, but deserved "talking
to", but I just want to let McLisa and Don know that you are more than
appreciated -- you are integral!

Hugs,
Portia
