Subject: Crusade for a cure - NB

Hi...I live on the central coast of California, and I'm toying with the
idea of driving down for the Crusade for A Cure where Nigel will be
appearing. I was wondering if there were other people on the list who
were living near my area and planning to go. I'm thinking I'll have to
rent a car to get there, and it would be nice to share a hotel room with
a few people. Is there any interest out there? (I live in Santa Maria,
CA) if that helps at all. I'm looking for this to be a mini-vacation --
I'd only be able to leave on early Saturday morning and come back late
Sunday night.

Please get in touch with me as soon as you can. I'm anxious to meet up
with other FK fans!

Thanks for everything.

High blood sugar. Nick told him no more than one lump in his glass, but you

Special guest on The Jerry Show. Wives of Husbands with Serious Drinking

Huh? The only ones I remember him failing with were resisters (Nat) and
those who came across imperical evidence after the whammy (Schanke). And
just who is keeping 'track' anyway. [Loyal Knightie bristle <g>]

Well, Duh. Becausing he was saving that sick time to spend with Janette in
Paris. Not to mention Urs in New Orleans. Now, I ask you... if you were a
semi-healthy vampire male, who would you rather spend quality time with?

I think that it takes a certain type of mindset/personality to be able to handle
being brought across, even more so in the present day. I'm not even sure
that Nick would have survived if he were brought across in the modern day.

No idea.

It probably never even crossed his mind

Given the link between Master and Child, I don't see how LC couldn't have
known what was happening. Could he (or would he) have intervened . . .
well that's a different question.

NOPE, not that I recall in all of the episodes, but I could be wrong. He
doesn't seem to have the knack for it, eh? If only they came out like him,
Vampires with Souls (my intrepretation, of course) but that never seems to
happen for Nick's fledglings!

He doesn't have 800 years of experience in the angst department like Nick
does.

Wellllllllll, let us hope he was successful there, sometimes he is :>) Since
it never comes up, let us just say it worked *this* time, IMHO <g>

Good question! Maybe he was counting on Richie's good guy persona from when
he was NOT a vampire, but I remember pretty much every vampire Nick has sired
has lost their Soul and gone right bad one way or another. Oy. Wonder if
staying home and babysitting would have helped.....nah, I don't think it
would have. <sigh>

> 5. Do you think LaCroix knew about this?

I think LC has been hanging around in the shadow since episode/day one, so
yes, I think he knew about this and he is just waiting for the *right* time
to show himself!!

DO I remember correctly that someone wrote a story recently about LC getting

Serena comes to mind, but I can't remember if there are others.

> 2. What do you think the major cause of Ritchie's downfall was?

His commitment to putting the bad gus away jsut became magnified when he
came across and it seems to me that when he bacame a vampire he realized he
had no more ethical constraints and did what he'd always really wnated to do
but in an exagerated way.

> 3. What do you think will happen when Sarah's hypno-suggestion wears off?

Why do you say he ahs a bad record here? I don't remember any examples
of his hypnosis wearing off.

> 4. Why didn't Nick use up some of that sick time and properly take care of
> his new charge?

I've wondered this ever since I saw the ep. the only really acceptable
reason for me is that he didn't want to bring Richie across int he first
place and jsu hoped the whole problem would go away. Some fo that may come
from his experience with LC who stuck to him like glue & caused him all
sorts fo problems. Perhaps he didin't want to smother Richie and impose his
(Nick's) values on him.

He sweared off killing at the turn of the century in 1900, after Lacroix
tricked him into killing the ballerina.

All though, "Outside the Lines" he seemed to still belive traitors die, and
that was in the 1900's.

Actually yes, he has. Serena, his most recent child, is still living on in
"Baby, Baby." Though she has a strong dislike towards Nick for bringing her
across and still hasn't seemed to forgive him for that mistake. Janette is
parially Nick's daughter also, because of him bringing her back over in
"Human Factor," but I believe she still has some of the link left to
Lacroix..So that technically make two that we know of. It's not that he
doesn't have the knack, but that they usually turn out wrong, or out of
control, so "he" has to destroy them. Serena, being a normal smart vampire,
didn't have this problem.

I believe that the answer to the 2nd question is when he killed Sylvain, the
ballet dancer. I seem to remember him telling LC that this was a benefit
because he no knew he couldn't judge who was innocent and who was guilty. I
seem to remember that LC set Sylvain (and Nick as well, of course) up by
convincing Nick that she was 'guilty' of being the harlot that most women
who made their living on the stage were thoguht to be.

Well, yeah, as others pointed out he swore off killing after the ballerina
episode, but let's face it, Nick *saying* he's swearing off killing and Nick
*actually* not killing are two completely different things. He can say he
doesn't kill all he wants, but the fact is he killed numerous folks after the
ballerina episode. A whole squad of East German police/soldiers in "1966"
immediately springs to mind, but there were plenty of others, possibly even
including Natalie although that is very much debatable.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining...as a Dark Knightie I have
absolutely no problem with the above (except for the Natalie thing)! <G>

Subject: Blitzing for the Knight! September

Hello everyone!

This entire month we are focusing on the four powers that be, Tristar,
Sci-fi, TNT, and now CBS!

A lot of FK fans have wondered why we don't approach other networks about
possibly reviving the series. Well, we decided to include along with Sci-fi
and Tristar for this month a blitz to TNT along with CBS to test the
waters!!

E-mail: tnt@t.......
(and place in the subject line: "To The Attention Of The Vice-President of
Programming")

You also may call TNT's Viewer Comment and Question Line at (404) 885-4538,
however we ask that any phone calls be in addition to letters and e-mails.

For snail mail, send to:
Vice-President of Programming
TNT 1010 Techwood Drive, NW
Atlanta, GA 30318

CBS Mail Form: http://cbsnews.cbs.com/now/feedback/0,1611,412,00.html

For snail mail, send to:
Leslie Moonves
President,
CBS Entertainment
7800 Beverly Blvd.
Los Angeles,CA 90036

and...

CBS
51 West 52nd St.
New York, NY 10019

Its going to be a big dose of e-mails from each of you the fans that would
love to not only have FK back on Sci-fi's schedule, but want to make sure
everyone knows that we are want more FK with the original cast in new
episodes and or movies!! So, what do you say? Are you ready to sit down,
take that few minutes and send off three e-mails? It could make all the
difference in the world!

Remember, say a little or say a lot, but say it!! We can make more FK
happen!!!

For the "whole" month of September, we are asking everyone to blitz the
feedbacks!!! For the month, you can re-use the e-mails you did before, or
write new ones. They can be long, or as short as just saying, "Bring Back
Forever Knight."

Important info to add in your letters: Sunday July 16, at 9:00 pm, ET/8:00
pm CT, SciFi aired a monthly program focussing on sci-fi movies and tv shows
that have become "cult" favorites among fans. The program's called
"SCIography", During this current blitz, we could ask that an upcoming
"SCIography" ep feature FK! So far, they plan to do eps on "Battlestar
Galactica", "Quantum Leap" and "Sliders", so asking them if they plan to do
a "SCIography" ep about FK can't hurt.

Also, Sci-Fi will be airing "Sci-Fi World", which is a 6 hour block of
sci-fi programs with a different theme each day. It's also possible to ask
them if FK will be a part of the "Sci-Fi World" programming block! So, be
sure to include these new ideas in the summer blitzes!

ALSO REMEMBER!! Sci-fi will be changing its schedule around again in the
fall.... lets make sure that we get Forever Knight on!!!

Sci-Fi's E-mail: feedback@w.......

Sony/Tristar Mail Form: http://www.spe.sony.com/spe/help_feedback_index.html

When e-mailing TriStar,(especially) give as much personal info as you
can...rather than just an e-mail name. A bit more personal carries more
weight with TPTB.

There's also a button, I made, which you can post on your websites to spread
the word about the blitzes. Have it link to my "save fk" page.

Long Live the Knight!
Kristin
http://members.xoom.com/forever_nick/Forever_Knight

P.S. I'll be sending out weekly reminders on this list as I did last month
to make sure you keep on blitzing those powers that be! :)

date next to #320, but, based on the digital cable guide information, the
one coming up is described as the what "Like Father, Like Son" ep is.]
*Reminder- this is NOT on Disney Cable channel, & since I found the info at

some places it may even air twice a week, but I would not count on that

Ben Bass is EXCELLENT in this ep, and this may be the last time you'll get

Thanks again, Cousin Raven--this is fun!

>2. What do you think the major cause of Ritchie's downfall was?
Too impulsive, not enough self-control or even thinking ahead. The same
flaw that got him shot in the first place was what caused him to fail as a
vampire. I think that goes for Nick's other failed converts, too. Serena
succeeded because she was very meticulous (she'd looked into Nick's
background) and self-possessed.

>3. What do you think will happen when Sarah's hypno-suggestion wears off?
> (He's got a bad track record there, too.)
I think those suggestions take quite nicely *when the subject wants them
to*. Sarah would much rather have Richard as a dead hero who was killed
trying to save lives, than as a dead evil vampire who had to be killed to
protect her.

>4. Why didn't Nick use up some of that sick time and properly take care of
>his new charge?
Nick has never even tried to do this "properly" before. He underestimated
how much babysitting his new offspring would need. Since Richard, unlike a
baby, was not obviously helpless, it was easy to expect him to follow
orders ("stay in the loft") like a normal adult. See the answer to question
2 again.

Your humble & obedient servant,
Ligeia

Subject: Re: Knight School - Ep109 - I Will Repay

Here's something to consider regarding why Nick didn't set up more time to
baby-sit Richard Lambert -- how much attention did Serena require after she was
brought across, how much did Vachon, or the Inca for that matter, require? And
speaking of offspring -- could that blonde chick who tried to stake Nick for
putting the bite on her back in the 1600's (or whatever) be considered his
childe? I know LaCroix finished the deed, but doesn't Nick have some connection
with her? How much guidance did she receive?

Regarding the degree of success that someone has in coming over, I rather
suspect it depends on the physiological character of both the sire and the
convert, their mental states at the time, perhaps other, more subtle influences,
like environmental factors, as well as just blind luck, though I am not also
dismissing an element of skill on the part of the sire. I also rather imagine
that the transformation process is so complex and so profound, that there is
room for much to go wrong -- insanity or other mental deficiencies seem
probable, considering how complex and delicate the brain can be. Maybe that is
one of the reasons the FKverse isn't overrun with vampires, and maybe one of the
reasons why LaCroix is so proud of Nick and Janette?

Subject: Important Note about Global 100

Thanks to Gwenn we now know that there's no need to vote on Global 100 more
than once a month for TV Shows and Male/Female Stars. See below...

------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Gwenn,

How often per month do you vote? Technically, you can vote as often as you
want. But in practice it has no use to vote more often that once per week.
(Or once per month for the TV Shows, Female Stars and Male Stars lists, that
appear only once every month.) If you vote more often than that, your
previous votes are discarded. So voting more than once per week (or once per
month) is useful when you want to correct a mistake in your votes. The new
votes won't add up to the old votes, they will replace them.

If you don't vote more than once per month for the TV Shows, let me know so
I can investigate this.

Regards,
Leontien
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This was in answer to her question about her votes being over-writed. Now we
know for sure that you only need to vote for FK once a month on TV Shows.
The same for GWD on Male Stars, or Catherine Disher on Female stars.

Now websites under Hompages, such as mine, are different. Those can be voted
for once a week, along with CD's, etc.

So, if you haven't voted once for the month yet for FK go here:

http://www.global100.com/item.asp?Item=51259

If you wish to also vote for GWD once this month go here:

And if you'd liek to vote once a week for my FK page go here;

I won't be posting any of 'Pipe Dreams' this weekend... we have to go to
Bakersfield for a baby shower and to pick up my oldest from her
granparents (awww, man! do I gotta? :)) Anyway, I will get back to it,
as soon as I get home.
For those of you in the States, happy Labor Day... enjoy the day off!

Subject: Clothing in the 1800s

Does anyone know where I can find what people wore in the early 1800s on the
web? I've found all sorts of pictures and stuff... but I'm stuck when it
comes to names of clothing articles. <Never realized a flashback could be
so hard to write... ACK!>

My standard: Nick wore blue jeans and a black silk shirt... well it just
won't work now...

YKYB...
When you come out of the "Azurro" restaurant ( your memory still
intact?) and decide to stop by the next door supermarket called "Angst"
(sorry, no LC water brand around here) half expecting to find frozen
blood or fk memorabilia.

when, the next morning you have a really awful exam in Statistics but
instead of fantasizing about probability and questionaires you dream of
seeing the series schedule of CBS with FK at 10 am, 13 and 20 and 23.

when all of a suden you remember that - as you were ten and in a summer
camp where parents had dumped you- an old gipsy woman predicted you
would get married to someone called Nicholas...
