I think the main reason UPN was suggested was because it isn't a cable station
and it carried other sci fi shows. However, according to our local paper, UPN
is having financial problems and they may get bought out by a larger station
anyway.

I think if we could get Forever Knight on CBS or TNT, that would be great.
Even my cable provider from a few years back that didn't have the sci fi
channel had TNT.

UPN was just an idea, since alot of fans e-mailed about trying them. yes,
they are having financial problems, but according to the papers,TPTB do
expect the network to continue.so lets for the moment, keep them on the back
burner of places to try. I still think that TNT was the best network to add
and perhaps continue with for awhile, and I am really glad that alot of you
think that also :) so, besides the two we have been doing, SCi-fi and
Tristar, TNT will remain, and in September, add we will add CBS to the blitz
list :).

Subject: FK and chatting

With McLisa's permission, I'm writing to both remind people, and let the
newbies know, about the FK chats on Mirc.
If you have Mirc, #foreverknight is always ready for people to come on
in and chat with fellow FK lovers. It's been way too quiet lately, and
when I checked in with the Mirc room last night, it had (besides the
moderator) only one other person in it. I remember (way back when the
dinosaurs roamed the earth) when the room was full of people and
chatting was a blast. It's terribly sad to see the room virtually (pun
intended) empty.
Now I know school is starting real soon, if it hasn't started in some
areas already. But the best times for chatting are weekend eves anyway,
and can be a blast when several people are around.
If you do not have Mirc, go to www.mirc.com and download it. It's a fun
and easy chat system to use, and I've tried several. ICQ is another
easy one, but at this point I am unaware of any regular FK meetings in
it.
If anyone has any trouble with downloading and using Mirc, feel free to
write to me offlist and I'll do my best to help ya. I'd really like to
meet a lot more people here, and this is a fun way to do it.

Tab (aka NytDreams in Mirc, and ask me offlist for my ICQ number if ya
want to talk there)

Me again,

Someone reminded me that I forgot to mention which server to use in
Mirc. *my seive of a brain is sooooo good for things like that* *G* I
usually use efnet, as it has proved the most reliable, and I know a great
many people prefer it too. I'm using the Mindspring efnet at the moment,
it hasn't let me down so far.
I'll be in the room tonight, for any and all that want babble along.

They might force us to close down our FK
websites with all the (pirated) images and sounds. I guess I just don't want
to poke a stick into the beehive, is all.

This is what the TPTB at the WB did to a lot of the BTVS sites as well.

Mmmm...John Calicos, another *great* voice. I think he'd have made a nifty
vampire.

Actually, he thought so too. I had the opportunity to meet him a couple of
years ago at a convention when I was decked out in full vampire regalia.
Yes, cape, fangs, floor-length skirts, and pale make-up. When I got his
autograph, he did a very campy Bela Lugosi imitation that made every one
laugh.

Why not include CBS since they were the first people to fund Forever Knight
on US television.
KnightWitch ;-]=

They may not want to be reminded of the mistake they made by letting FK go.
The same as NBC doesn't like to be reminded of the zillions of $$$ that Star
Trek has made since they let it go.

Well, they could fix that mistake by bringing it back to T.V. AND making a
new movie and/or episodes.

Hey all,

Speaking of the powers that be...I know this is a bit late...

Could we lobby for a an FK sciography (sciology? I just caught the QL
one) FK certainly has enough history to fill an hour. I guess the best
way to do this is to send e0mail to the scifi chan. PTB.

Just a thought :) I want more FK <G>

Then either they are back, or the information you were given is faulty... I
just checked by following "Sonja Marie's Buffy the Vampire Slayer Links Webring,
which has an amazing 576 sites (no, I didn't open them all - just a few, randomly
across the ring) and there are plenty of sites with images, wavs, video clips,
even a pc game!

Which is the main reason I don't have any copyrighted FK pics on my site. But
then I'm a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to computer graphics anyway.
They may look a bit cheesy, but at least they're legal.

Efnet is reliable, however, it's often full, and not all servers are listed in
older versions of mIRC. They're also very strict about where you log on.
Living in Germany, I cannot even log on other servers in Europe, let alone
overseas. May I suggest Undernet?

Just thought I'd tell anyone who's concerned that I haven't, and won't,
follow up on my plan to write to Sony & send them back my copy of On Holy
Ground. RL events kept me away from the post office, and the discussion on
this list has convinced me that it would be unwise to do so at this stage.
Frankly, I'm not disappointed to have a good excuse to hang on to my book.
If Sony wants it, they can come to Canada & get it from me.

Somebody said it's too bad it takes something like this to get folks to
write to Sony & others about FK. I agree, and I'm guilty as charged. I
guess sometimes you don't know what you've got till it's (almost) gone...
I'll still write Sony, but strictly as part of the regular KtK campaign,
and definitely without mentioning OHG.

Finally, here's my favorite story about copyright & trademark protection: a
U.S. college football team's lawyers told a Calgary high school football
team to cease and desist from calling themselves the Trojans, because they
were infringing on the American copyright. The Calgary high school showed
that they had been using the name "Trojans" for several decades before the
U.S. team was formed. They kindly allowed the Americans to continue using
the name.

Apollo DID marry the character played by Jane Seymour & that's how
he became Boxie's father.

Now to get this back on topic <g>. I was watching some bio type
show on cable and learned that Richard Hatch (or was it Dirk
Benedict?) has a script for a BG reunion movie which he's trying
to get started but he does NOT have BG "TPTB"'s approval for the
project ... So it seems that FK's TPTB are not the only TPTB
that ignores efforts & refuses to cooperate when others try to
get reunion-type projects going.

Also, if you have a newer server, the server operators have to write efnet to
get permission for their clients to access it. This has proved a problem for
me more than once, as I have moved a lot, and many internet providers that I
have dealt with don't have permission to access efnet.

As I replied to you privately...There are some out there now, but compared
to several years ago, the number and quality of the sites is next tonothing.
I watched most of the sites go away, and know several who had their stuyff
taken down with the same kind of nasty letter to them and thier hosts that
Jean got.

I dont have the names or old address anymore. I just remember watching it
happen when it did. HUNDREDS of sites. A few of the sites went underground
but most were given the cease and desist.

As far as the Buffy ones, go to the BUFFY BRINGERS and it has all the
infomration on all the shutdowns last time I looked, because they are the
first ones fighting it.

All Star Wars slash sites have either had to go underground or were pulled
because Lucas himself was royally PO'd at people slashing Obi wan and
Quigon.

A couple of the original slash writers wont even put their stuff out on the
web anymore after getting threatneing letters from Lucas lawyers.

Some of this fallout on sites with slash is because the actors and/or their
families were upset if they find out, or the or the originator (lucas and
SW.) Now Nigel and Geraint arent upset as far as I heard, so that is a step
in favor or nothing against the UF's

FYI - The main Rat Patrol sites all got squelched because they were into
slash very heavily, and even tho ABC isn't doing a thing with Rat Patrol,
the lawyers were all bent out of shape due to the tarnishing of their
heros' reputations.

Its not the Buffy sites. I am very active in there and know its not them.
*I* had said the X files ones at the time. They have approached the Buffy
sites yes. And the Buffy people have fought back to the point of naitonal
recognition on Headline and major news networks.
They even have the stars of the show who have spoken out in favor of them
(once they learned there was no profit from them and it was promoting the
show).

The point is if TPTB get the bug up theri butt, they feel they have a leg up
because the average person or host wont have the $$$ to fight them even if
they might win.

And I would hate to lose some of the great FK sites out there. Thats the
only way I get to see anything from the show anymore./

And an OT thing.... If there are any Buffy people here, try not to support
Sonjia Maria and her site/s. She is a known theif and did some bad things
even worse in calber then what the BANDIT did here to Susan's stuff a few
months back.
