It was a practical joke Ger pulled on Catherine. If you look closely you'll
see he's not wearing both the glowing lenses and fangs.  He slipped in the
fangs right before he turned around.  I heard she got revenge on him in Capt.
Nat apartment scene in Curiouser and Curiouser.

Before I knew it was a joke, I wondered how she made her reaction so
realistic. Then I learned that scene was her reaction to his joke.

You're right. The first was in "Amateur Night" and the second was in
"Beyond the Law." LC was right in step with the times, fashionwise. But I
was actually thinking more in terms of the turtlenecks worn by the mortals
around him. I imagine they might get in the way when it came time to
"dine."

On the other hand, maybe he wasn't a fan of "fast food," so it didn't
matter to him. <weg>

Hmmm.. perhaps...but they are much better for hiding bite marks than
some of the early fashions ;)
I can't remember off-hand the ep but in
one flashback Nick's Renaissance lover *what was her name* was full of
them..and I always wondered how on earth no one seemed to notice....That
makes me think, perhaps the turtleneck was a *vampire* creation?! would
be logical :)

But: 1) would there be a vamp so reckless to yell at LaCroix....??
        I wouldn't ;)
     2) if this vamp didn't notice *who* it was he was yelling at...what
