There's a possibility that's kind of a long shot, because I doubt that
anyone else is quite as clueless about this sort of stuff as me. But
when I first looked at the URL, I thought, "Oh, there's not supposed to
be a space before "Comfy". Then I went, "Doh!" 'cause Comfy and the rest
of it isn't part of the URL. It's telling you to go to the URL, then click
on the button for the Comfy Cottage, then click on "Library".

I'm supposed to know this stuff, 'cause I'm very familiar with the website.
In fact, the URL is in my sig! My excuse is that about 75% of my brain cells
are currently devoted to my knees. It's so nice to have a built in excuse!
I wonder what I can use when I finally get well. <g>

Bring 'em back alive!

I was wondering what time frame this hints at Nicholas being in Chicago. I
thought he was there right before he came to Toronto, but obviously the
lights would have been there already. Clarification, anyone?

Can anyone tell me the name of Nick's partner in his previous incarnation as a
cop in the US? I seem to recall seeing an ep that mentioned it, but being
deprived of both the sci-fi channel & tapes, I don't remember his name.

Also in what year was that supposed to have taken place?

Lights were not installed in Wrigley Field until less than ten years ago. It
was a very big deal when the finally did it. Wrigley Field was the last of
the holdouts. I guess they liked their baseball the old fashioned way.

The lights officially went on in Wrigley Field for the first time on

8-8-88

I know, because I married a rabid Cubs fan. :-) We have a 16x20 framed photo
of the first night game taken from the blimp hanging in our house.

Any other questions?

Oh, yeah.... day games at Wrigley are far better than a night game anywhere else,
even if the team loses! Nothing like a sunburn from sitting in the bleachers...
(which I did a few weeks ago)

Of course, that *would* present a problem for Nick, wouldn't it?

Subject: Was Nick trying to imply more?

While watching "Only the Lonely" today, I noticed something on the birthday
card that Nick gave to Nat that I never saw before. The last two words were
in singular quotes. What was Nick trying to tell Natalie by placing
singular quotes around the last two words of Nat's birthday card before
signing? He signed the card 'with affection,' Nick. Usually, the placing
of quotes is to emphasis a point, or to allow another to know that there is
more to what is being said than just what the words alone state. Maybe
Natalie's hurt reaction was too quick. Maybe he was trying to let her know
that although their relationship appears to be like 'just friends' on the
outside, he really would like it to be much more. So what were those
singular quotes around those words meant to convey?

2. Please don't quote more than four lines of a previous post
in replying. If you have more than one point to answer, then you may quote
the relevant four lines for that point also.

5. Advertising on list is on a case by case basis. Please consult the

6. This list is for the discussion of Forever Knight. Cast, crew, staff

Subject: Blitz for the Knight Day 8; Reminders

It's day 8 of the Feedback Blitz!! Go ahead and e-mail the two powers that
be below asking for what you desire in the Knight (you can also re-use your
letters for this 2 week blitz)...

1. Sci-fi: feedback@w.......

2. Tristar/Sony: http://www.spe.sony.com/spe/help_feedback_index.html

..................................................
Forget what the blitz is about? Read below:

It looks like these blitzes we have been doing are getting some attention!
So we at KtK, are going to turn them into a monthly routine. This month we
are focusing on the two main powers, Tristar and Sci-fi.

Its going to be a double dose of e-mails from each of you the fans that
would love to not only have FK back on Sci-fi's schedule, but want to make
sure everyone knows that we are want more FK with the original cast in new
episodes and or movies!! So, what do you say? Are you ready to sit down,
take that few minutes and send off two e-mails? It could make all the
difference in the world!

Remember, say a little or say a lot, but say it!! We can make more FK
happen!!!

June 12th, through June 24th, we are asking everyone to blitz both
feedbacks!!! For the two weeks, you can re-use the e-mails you did before,
or write new ones. They can be long, or as short as just saying, "Bring Back
Forever Knight."

ALSO REMEMBER!! Sci-fi will be changing its schedule around in June, and
again in the fall.... lets make sure that we get Forever Knight on!!!

Sci-Fi's E-mail: feedback@w.......

Sony/Tristar Mail Form: http://www.spe.sony.com/spe/help_feedback_index.html

When e-mailing TriStar,(especially) give as much personal info as you
can...rather than just an e-mail name. A bit more personal carries more
weight with TPTB.

I also made a button/banner for the upcoming blitzing, which you can use to
help spread the word, by putting this on your site (you can get off my save
fk page).

(scratching head) Your explanation of what single quotes are used for is a
bit puzzling. They're not used for emphasis or to imply there is more
meaning, they're used to indicate the enclosed words are a quote (verbal or
printed), or to set off a word that is defined further on in the sentence,
or is a euphemism. British English punctuation uses the single quote where
American English uses the double quote, and vice versa.

Examples:

--- "Say it! Say 'I love you,' " Natalie finally screamed at Nick as he
gazed adoringly at her from a safe distance. (American English punctuation)
--- "Fledgling," in this context, means a very young vampire. (definition of
an unusual term)
--- Nick, never one to be overly clinical, preferred to call it 'my little
friend.' " (euphemism; my apologies to the sensibilities of the list <g>)

Why did Nick put single quotes around this phrase? Hmmm:

--- A. He isn't a copy editor, and therefore didn't punctuate his card
correctly (I can see Nat getting out her red pen and deleting them with the
copy editor's little swirly mark <g>)
--- B. He wrote "with affection" as a euphemism for "I'd love to kiss you
senseless, but I have this little control problem. What a bummer." (is that
what you meant, Gwenn?)
--- C. He's quoting a steamy 18th century romantic poem that also compares
Nat to a) a summer's day, b) a Grecian urn, or c) roses blooming in a
convent garden.

And while my copy editor's heart thinks the real answer is A, I want to
believe it's C -- and that Nat's education glossed over those romantic poems
so she doesn't recognize the quote, and thus completely misses the meaning
of Nick's unbelievably romantic birthday card. <g>

I think this is the right one, don't you? >G<
I've seen many people use the single quote marks to emphasize a point,
even if it is incorrect grammatically speaking, so I don't think that
Gwenn's idea is too far fetched. Maybe Nick was trying to say more than
he actually said and Nat just missed it, because she was hurt (or
flustered, since she had just run into Roger and given him a bloody
nose!).
 That's my humble opinion, anyway.

According to my husband (who loves KISS and just made me sit through an
hour long documentary on them, last night), "Beth" was written for the
guy's cat. He felt bad leaving her at home during practice and recording
sessions, but made sure she went out on the road with them.
Really weird, if you ask me.
