He would know everything about them. Their habits, where they slept, their vulnerablities etc. Not that I beleive he ever would harm them, but other vampires don't know that. In fact they may well think he may become a hunter because he was seen to not like being a vampire and therefore vampires in general. So the question now is...would they wipe his memory if they chose not to bring him back across or kill him? And how would LC react to being erased from his son's mind forever? And how would LC react to being erased > from his son's mind forever? I think they would probably try to, but I think that LaCroix would offer to watch Nick. I agree that LaCroix couldn't handle being apart from Nick and not having that sense of control anymore, so I think he'd be among the first to keep an eye on Nick. Since LaCroix is an older vampire, the Enforcers would respect his wishes (hopefully) and let him watch his every move. If Nick would decide to try anything at all, then LaCroix would visit and let him know what the Enforcers want to do and basically give him an ultimatum. And if Nick still didn't listen? I think Laroix would be the one to eliminate him because LaCroix would want that control up until the moment of his death. ~Becky ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 2 Jun 2000 18:03:49 -0500 From: Rebecca Hinson <thanato@b.......> Subject: Re: What if Nick Found a Cure? See message below, for those who were planning to or haven't heard... ----------------------------------------- Hi, I am the webmaster for the Sci Fi Guys (http://www.scifiguys.com/). I wanted to write to all of you to clear up a bit of a misunderstanding (please post this on your mailing list). Though we do have the phrase "scifi" in our name, we are not in fact the Sci Fi Channel (nor in any way affiliated with them). We are an independent newsletter, that strives to bring sci fi news and rumors to our readers in a humourous way (sometimes we succeed, sometimes we can see the digital tomatoes heading our way :-) ). We appreciate your efforts and applaud our dedication to science fiction/fantasy. Please feel free to sign-up for our newsletter (you can at our site: http://www.scifiguys.com/) so that you too can keep on top of what is happening in science fiction and fantasy. Thanks for the letters and good luck bringing back Forever Knight! Wow, equal opportunity gawking on the list...I love it! :-) Oh wait - no, this wasn't the first time. I did the same thing a few years ago and got yelled at (figures! :-) ). I was seeing an especially large number of appreciative remarks about Ger and Nigel and Ben (hey, even Greg too :-) ) at the time and made up some excuse to make similarly appreciative remarks about Deborah and Lisa. (I subsequently met both of them at various fan-related events and am now regretting the whole gawking incident in the first place :-) ) Mind you, as I am happily engaged and plan to be married at the end of July, I will of course do nothing further than _talk_ about gawking. :-) Seriously though, I suppose that I was only pointing this out because there's still a massive gender imbalance in FK fandom. I don't actually know why this is. Not that I'm necessarily advocating affirmative action to drag men to FORKNI-L, kicking and screaming either (nor for that matter, am I suggesting that there be more gawking or talk of gawking; I personally find it okay in small amounts, but others' kilometrage, err, mileage will vary). Consider how much food has changed since the 13th century. If Nick found a cure, and his body reverted to the exact same state as it was in 1228, could he tolerate the chemicals and preservatives that are a normal part of the 21st century diet? Most of our bodies learn to tolerate these a little at a time as we grow up and are not bombarded with them in adulthood when our immune systems are slower to adapt. Speaking of the immune system, if Nick found a cure, Natalie would have to be standing by with all variety of vaccinations. But then, I think she was more than a little amused at Nick's reaction to needles anyway. <g> ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 Jun 2000 01:12:00 EDT From: Sss44@a....... Yes, but most of these people that he knows particulars about were his friends. I mean, would you tell a total stranger where you sleep at night? So, anyone he knows would still be his friend, despite his changed...self. And if they were no longer his friends...*isn't that a definition of "not a good friend" when they don't accept you for who you are, no matter what?* As for knowing the vulnerabilities, well, most of them are folklore anyhow. It seems to me that Nick has always been on a personal quest to find happiness, and he doesn't try to look within himself, which is the only place you can really find true happiness. >> ...enforcers would *not* go after Nick if he became mortal. >But Lacroix would. Subject: FK Commercial Wave File Hello all, I was recently going through my third season FK tapes...tapes that were made when FK was still running original episodes...and I came across a commercial for the episode "Fallen Idol." The commercial runs for a bit less than a minute and, although I wish I could make an .avi file of it, I lack the necessary equipment to do so. On the other hand, I do have a .wav file of the commercial and would be willing to share it with anyone who is interested. To my knowledge, I can remember seeing only two FK commercials when the show was still running original eps...one for "My Boyfriend is a Vampire," and the other for "Fallen Idol," of course. To my knowledge, I do not have the MBIAV commercial, but I do have the "Fallen Idol" .wav and thought that others on this list might be interested in a somewhat rare item from FK's original run. If anyone is interested in the .wav file, please e-mail me and I'll pass it along to you. Subject: NY Party Announcement Hi all With permission from McLisa I would like to announce a NY FK pool party and Barbecue Date: July 22, 2000 Time: TBA (sometime in afternoon) Place: Long Island, NY (Nassau County) I had one of these about 3 years ago for those that remember. We all had a blast. Please E mail me off list (with Party in subject line) at susankenn@a....... if you want to come. I will then put together an "E" mail loop to coordinate the event (it was pot luck last time and that worked really well). So, mark the date, let me know and we are off to have a great time. We will show all sorts or videos (and I have some real neat ones), pictures, FK games and such. I look forward to hearing from you all susan susankenn@a....... ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 Jun 2000 15:40:54 EDT From: SFryar@a....... My AOL Personal Filing Cabinet did a major hiccup yesterday and I lost quite a few e-mails, including a couple of her "Dance" posts. I wanted to ask her a question about the stories, and I can't find her addy so I can send her a reply. :( If anyone could let me know what her e-mail addy is (off-list please), I'd be grateful. Many thanks, everyone! :) <back to lurking> Stephi STILL "Mom" of the DFKS <g> www.egroups.com/Writer'sCube "We are defined, not by the depth of our passions, but by the strength of our love."
