I believe the Near Death Scenario was in fact a sort of
hallucination or something created in Nick's brain. The ideas of the
Guide fit so well with what Nick believed, that he had to atone, and had
lots more of it to do, etc., that it wasn't credible as anything more to
me. If there was something that contradicted his belief system, then it
would have more credibility to me. So, if it was a lame spiel that was
rather vague, I attribute it to Nick not knowing how to explain things to
himself any better. Just like in a dream, you can't dream about a
calculus equation if you don't know how they work. (Of course if you
want talk about dreams foretelling events or working as messages from
people who have died, that's a whole other can of worms (and there were
enough crawling around on Nick) so I'll leave that to another
conversaton. ;-)

With that explanation of the ND scenario, I'm fine with it. try it out,
Kyer, it might fit ya. ;-)

of course, a healthy dose of your favorite cheese may be necessary!

I'm in the deep South, and work for at a Greek Orthodox Church. We keep the
doors locked, as there are way too many gold and silver icons, service
related chalices, spoons, and other regalia that is worth a fortune. I
don't think that some of it would get much at a pawn shop, but to replace
would be horribly expensive. If someone wants to go in to light a candle,
or pray, I page the custodian who unlocks the church and stays in there
(unobtrusively) until they are finished and locks back up. People who need
access alot, are given a key and a code to disarm the burglar alarm and let
themselves in and out.

I think the days of open access are long gone.

First of all, I'm the one who suggested that Kris post a daily reminder.
This is not intended to discourage those who would prefer not to have one
from saying so, just that I thought I should confess. (I sound like Nick in
angst, don't I? <g>)

Now, since I've seen more sentiment for the reminders, I'm going to say go
ahead with them.

Anyone who wants talk about this, go ahead.

Well, pardon me if this is a dumb idea, but couldn't you set it up as a
topic (like adult, or v4s)? Then the readers who don't want the reminders
could unsub themselves from it. I dunno, it was just a thought :)

I really shouldn't contradict Marg since she lives in TO & I don't (and
she's taken more people on FK tours than I can even count), but there are
many Anglican churches that have confessionals, since they kept most of the
rites of the Roman Catholic church (including confession) when Henry VIII
formed the Anglican Church. I have Anglican friends who go to confession
and Episcopalian ones who don't. It depends on how "high church" the
congregation is. So, I don't think there can be a blanket statement that
Anglican churches don't have confessionals.

Also, I was in ST. James church last October (separate for an FK tour) and I
seem to remember confessionals. And didn't Nick hear Schanke's confession
in FIHS?

Subject: Catherine Disher on CBC Radio

"National Affairs", featuring Catherine Disher as 'Beth Tinsdale',
returned to CBC Radio One on Friday after a short break. Remember, it's
live every Friday as part of CBC Radio One's program "This Morning", from
9:30-9:45 a.m (right after the 90-second local news update).
You can listen to the radio broadcast *live* on RealAudio by clicking on
one of the stations on the page cbc.ca/audio.html That means you can
catch it Friday at 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time (12:30 pm Eastern) on the Radio
One Vancouver link. It will probably also be rebroadcast as part of the
Friday edition of "This Morning Tonight" (a show made up of the morning's
highlights) between 8:05 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., so you can try the
RealAudio links again then. It's a national program, so you can catch it
at 8:05 pm Atlantic Time by clicking on the Halifax link, Toronto for
8:05 pm Eastern, Winnipeg for Central Time, or Calgary for Mountain Time.

National Affairs has a brand new webpage, complete with cast photo, at
radio.cbc.ca/programs/thismorning/nataffairs/index.html

I promise that this is absolutely the last time I'll post this info!

I was just in Halifax a couple of weeks ago (watching NB in Hamlet) & I
accompanied a friend who's Catholic to Mass on Saturday evening. She also
attended a Vigil Mass on Saturday when we were in TO for LCA last October.
In doing research to be sure she could attend Mass while we were n TO, we
found that some churches had Vigil Masses and some didn't.

Hope this helps,

Since McLisa said discussion on this was okay.....

The daily reminders don't bother me...and I can't even take advantage of
them because I don't have web access. But if I did, I'd appreciate being
reminded daily. After all, most of us have so many things going on in
our lives every day that a daily reminder to vote *is* necessary. Also,
there are always new people joining the list every day, and a daily
reminder gets them involved in the fandom right from the beginning and
helps them understand the interactive nature of the FK fans.

Also, *every* effort, no matter how seemingly small or insignificant it
is, helps to further the KtK efforts. One person *can* make a
difference, and who knows if just one person's vote on one day becomes
the catalyst for one of TPTB to think, hey, these people are still
fighting for their show, there must be something to it, which in turn
inspires them to actually do something about bringing it back to the
air. Nobody can say what that catalyst will be, so the more we do to
keep FK and its actors in front of people's perceptions all the time, the
better.

This is just a reminder for you to add your daily vote on the Global 100
Charts.

To vote go here: http://www.global100.com/item.asp?Item=51259

*We could really use the help of those wo have never voted before.*

Currently it remains in the #4 position unofficially.(this is what needs to
increase so it will officially).

Officially it is in the #7 position.

Thanks for participating!

No, it's not at all dumb, and thanks for the suggestion. However, there is a
limit on the number of topics we can set up, so I don't think we can
practically do this at this time.

For information on managing your subscription and on listserv commands,
please see Don Fasig's page
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/7139/fk-lists.htm

1. No flames on list. FLAMERS MAY BE SET NOPOST. THE NOPOST MAY BE
PERMANENT.

2. Please don't quote more than four lines of a previous post
in replying. If you have more than one point to answer, then you may quote
the relevant four lines for that point also.

3. Limit sigs to 6 lines. This includes all information, decoration
quotations and blank lines. Your name and address count as part of
the six. If you sign your name on a separate line above the body of
text, your name and the blank line or lines between count as part of
the six line limit. If you have one of those services that insists
on putting an advertising tag on the end of posts, don't worry. I
realize you can't control that and it doesn't count as part of your
sig.

4. Please don't send to the whole list when you are only talking to the
person who wrote the post you are answering.

5. Advertising on list is on a case by case basis. Please consult the
listowners, Lisa McDavid, mclisa@m....... or Don Fasig,
phase3@g....... for permission.

6. This list is for the discussion of Forever Knight. Cast, crew, staff
and producers in connection with what they're doing now or have done in
the past are ok. Vampires in general are _NOT_ ok except in relation
to Forever Knight.

7. Off-topic posts are not allowed, no matter what they are about or
how urgent the warning may appear. If you have an off-topic post which
you think should appear on the list, ask one of the owners for permission.

8. The private lives of the cast are not a discussion topic. Occasionally
one of the fan club presidents will make an announcement, but other than
that, we leave the cast their privacy.

9. Con announcements must come from con officials or a designated
liaison and must be kept brief. Cons are only announced on list if there
is a connection to FK.

10. Only fan club presidents or other designated spokespeople may
make announcements of future projects for FK cast, crew and staff,
before said projects have been released or written about in the
media.

11. No role-playing on Forkni-l. This includes no character names as
pseudonyms or posing as a character.

12. Each subscriber is limited to five posts per day on Forkni-l.

I'll be happy to explain the reason for any of the above if asked.

Thanks!

Hey everybody!

Due to problems in my home, I am forced to unsub from this list for a
little while. I have enjoyed the discussions, points to ponder, jokes,
support and love that you have all given me.

When my grandmother died, you were all there for me with your loving
support, prayers and well wishes. You helped me get through a difficult
time. I drew on the strength you sent and made it through.

I love you all, will miss you dearly and hope to return soon.

I will stay on for one more week so that I may read any replies to this
