There is one line in Father Figure that addresses this issue, although I
am not sure whether or not it is only in the Canadian version (the
version I have) or in both the Canadian and American versions. Anyhoo,
Nat askes Nick if he has a reflection, Nick responds 'sometimes'.

Just thought you might like to know. :)=

Subject: WAR: Stuff

I haven't seen this mentioned yet and I hope that I'm not overstepping
here but, for all the new people and those who haven't participated in a
war before here's the most important part:

You MUST be subscribed to the FKFIC-L list.

To do this send subscribe fkfic-l first name last name in the body of a
message (no subject) to LISTSERV@p.......

That's only the first part. Next, you have to turn the WAR: topic on.

To do this, again send to listserv@p....... a message, with no
subject, saying "set topics: +war:" (no quotes)

Our listowner has already sent a message with a subject of:
WAR: Listowner's Commentary
If you did not get this message you will not be able to read any of the
war posts. Another way to check if you will be able to read the war posts
is to sent a message to the listserv, with no subject, saying "query
fkfic-l" (again, no quotes). The message that the listserv sends back
will tell you the topics that you are subscribed to.

Please note that you do not have to participate in the war to read the
messages.

Finally, if you did not get the Listowner's Commentary, and would like it,
I volunteer to send it out. If you plan on participating this should be
mandatory reading. Just let me know and I'll forward you a copy.

Hope this helps.

OBFK: YKYBW... I was in Erie, PA last weekend, and walking down the
street, at an intersection, was confronted with this huge wall and painted

the picture up when I have the film developed.

I am a great believer in bumper stickers. Diane mentioned that if FK-SOS
gives them out free, we'd be undermining Pegasus' sales. She's right.
I forgot about that.

Bumper stickers are great advertising because your car goes all over town,
and lots of people see it. I suggest that when you buy your bumper
sticker(s) from Pegasus, (and you _are_ going to buy bumper sticker(s) from
Pegasus, aren't you?) that you think about it in terms of advertising. In
other words, for example, the bumper stickers about chocolate are wonderful,
and you might want to buy one of those too (Buy lots of stickers; they're
only $2.00 apiece, plus a little bit for postage.), but IMO it is important
to put one on your car that refers to the name of the show; i.e. - either
the one that says Forever Knight or one that has the word Knight in it.

Due to quote restrictions, I cut the second paragraph of her post which
announced that the Dracpackers are a faction from Dracula: The Series, and
that she's planning on bringing characters from that series into the war.

Umm... I admit that I've only been through one war, but I didn't think that
factions representing characters from another series were allowed.

Actually, the convention (as I recall it, I've only been in 2 Wars) is that *no*
characters from *any* other TV series is allowed. (Well, Jennie snuck in a
cameo for Mulder & Scully once, but it was just a walk-on.) That precludes not
just other-series-character factions, but using concepts from other series to
benefit yourself.

No saying, for example, that you're a Watcher (Highlander) or that your father
is an ex-U.N.C.L.E. agent so you can have access to special stuff. You can say
you borrowed your company's laptop (if your company is likely to own a laptop,
that is) but you're supposed to use creativity to overcome lack of
financing/supplies, not "wish" yourself what you need.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me. :)

I'm not a listowner, just a semi-longtime listmember. The wars are for
*FK characters only!* We don't have enough bandwidth to include
non-FK factions, and many people just aren't interested in them. Plus,
those are the rules, set by Jaye herself. The FK lists and activities are
for FK stuff only.

TV Guide lists his name and describes:

"Bullets and punches fly as a vigilante (Billy Blanks) and a cop (Roddy

I've been trying to picture "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Nigel Bennett in a

Dare I hope NB plays the crime lord?(Love that grasp!<g>)

Subject: Re: Virtual Season

I've seen a lot about the Virtual Season issue, and I think it is a good
idea. However, in order to distinguish this from other Season 4 efforts,
a few things would be required.

1. A virtual producer/director (this could be a committee) to decide
which "script submissions" would be accepted as "virtual episodes."
The VP/D would determine rules for submissions and episode formats,
and be responsible editing, formatting, posting and archiving the
episodes, as well as points 2-4 below. (In other words, TVPTB!)

2. A virtual "writers bible" to enhance continuity, and reduce YAFKI's.
Unlike JP, I don't believe this would reduce creativity; in fact,
working around the guidelines should actually stimulate it.

3. A virtual network; ie. an e-mail loop for interested subscribers who
find the FKFIC-L traffic load a bit too heavy to follow. FKFIC-L
would still carry the episodes, but this would allow folks with
limited time or mail-box sizes to enjoy the "series".

4. A virtual sponsor who would supply "virtual commercials." To keep
things from getting COMPLETELY crazy, there should be a limit of one
commercial per act (better than you'd get on any RL TV station). The
commercials could be either silly or serious, but should be vetted
by the list PTB if they could relate to any REAL products, services,
people or organizations (this is standing list policy anyway).

Sounds like a lot of work for a little fanfic, doesn't it? That's just
the point! A Virtual Season should be more that just fanfic; it's a full
scale project meant to involve many people in the creative effort. If
you think that it's just too complex to get many people interested, just
remember the FK WARS! Now THERE was a project that should have been
impossible, and yet I continue to be amazed at the high quality of the
writing that was produced. And that was produced by SEVERAL competing
committees! If THAT worked out so well, a Virtual Season should be a
piece of cake (and a peaceful alternative to war).

Subject: Nigel Alert/Darkman

Here's more info about Nigel's role in Darkman III. I got the synopsis from
the press release. Other stars of note to fans are Jeff Fahey as Rooker
(villian) and Roxann Biggs-Dawson.

Dr. Peyton Westlake (Darkman), disguised as a drug-selling thug, interropts
a major underworld transaction being processed by the ruthless Peter Rooker
who is involved in all forms of illegal activities under the guise of
legitimate business. But, his obsession is power. He wants control of an
advanced steroid which will make his henchmen unstoppable, in turn making
Rooker invincible. Enraged at Westlake's interference, Rooker and his
lieutenant Nico (Nigel) escape.

Now Rooker has an added obsession. He wants to control Darkman and discover
the secret of his enormous strength. To this end, Rooker enlists the aid of
his mistress Dr. Bridget Thorne (Darlanne Fluegel).

Planting a sensor device in a piece of laboratory equipment which Westlake
buys undercover, Bridget attacks her prey and seduces Westlake with the
promise of contributing to his research. Grateful for her kindness, the
tormented Westlake agrees to an experimental surgery (sound a lot like Nick,
doesn't he?) which she claims will perfect the artificial skin formula he's
seeking. Instead, Bridget implants a strong receiver in Wesllake's neck
giving her control over him through a hight-voltage gun.

In a devestating series of confinement and torture, Rooker and Bridget
nearly manage to destroy Westlake, but using his superior intellect and
strength he escapes.

Knowing his only vial of experimental skin is locked in Rooker's home safe,
Westlake desguises himself as Rooker and goes to his home. Westlake (as
Rooker) is drwan into a family evening with Rooker's beautiful, emotionally
battered wife (Dawson) and neglected daughter. He promises to attend the
child's upcoming dance recital. Drawn by his promise to Jenny and attraction
to Angela, his disguises himself again as Rooker to surprise them at the
recital. His composure is nearly shattered when Angela tenderly holds his
hand, rousing areas of Westlake's heart and emotions he thought forever
dormant. (Sound A LOT like Nick.)

In a confronation in a warehouse, Westlake destroys Nico (darn) and the
hired thugs. Rooker kills Bridget. Angela and Jenny who were forced there by
Nico are injured. Westlake overcomes Rooker by tossing him into the jaws of
a giant shredder. Westlake retrieves the single vial of artifical skin and
uses it to restore Jenny's burned face. Once again, he goes alone into the
night.

Suggested retail price is $34.98 and will be available on August 20 or 27.
The literature gives me both dates. If I get a screener, I'll let you all
know what I think of it. Running time 1:27.
