Actually, I think he's going to be the Nosferatu Primogen (I think that's
right). If you don't know about Vampire: The Masquerade (the game upon
which the series is supposedly based *note cynical attitude*), Nosferatu
*aren't* very much in the way of sex appeal. Bloated, misshapen,
wire-haired bags of reeking pus is a better description (for the more
attractive of the clan). Then again, the series Sewer Rats (clan nickname)
aren't going to be as pustulent as they should be.

Heres a curious little tidbit that has plagued me since I first discovered
FK. What exactly are the beginning words to the intro? Is the voice saying
"He was born to cross" or "brought across" or something similar to one of
those. I never could clearly distinguish that line. I have always held to
the notion that the line is " He was born to cross" since, though it lacks
any meaning from a strictly vampiric sense, it resounds with the air of
arhaic, christian/medieval terminology. I'm sure you all know the answer
to this question so, by all means, deluge me.

Oh, good song. I got to see the Flying Fish Sailors (the group that did it)
live once.

And, yes, you can kill vampyres. In FK, a stake through the heart, the sun,
or lab rats :) seem to do the trick. I think a nice fat nuclear explosion
would too, considering that it simulates a star at close range for a short
time, and the lingering radiation would have adverse effects not only on the
vamps themselves (what would gamma rays do to the undead?), but on the food
supply.

I'm baaack!: Well I'm back from Roadtrip '96! Had lots of fun meeting
folks, Cousin Suk and all. Someone is in possession of the quote list,
which, if do say so myself, was pretty hilarious. ;)

Blood: I was wondering about the free-drying of blood thing. Be rather like
scabs, wouldn't it? Bleh. Besides, I don't think ol' Lacroix needs to
preserve much blood at the Raven, considering that he probably has plenty of
willing and unwilling donors alike. ;)

Etc.: Regarding the discussion of the final episode, I think we should not
spend much time thinking about it until it actually airs. The rumors are
upsetting to us all but there's really no point in getting ourselves
depressed right now, right? TPTB would probably rather enjoy the notion of
us angsting away, so let's not give them that particular pleasure, ok?

Good to be back!

Actually, what Ger said about the lenses (Nigel said much the same)
was that you can't see a thing with the lenses for either season in.
Ger ran into the *camera* the first time he had his in. Nigel said
someone has to lead you around when you're not in front of the camera.

As for Dark Knight, we do *not* see LaCroix burst into flames. That
was Nick Night. All we really see in Dark Knight is bits of cloth
dropping to the floor in flames. We don't see any indication that
LaCroix's body was ever on fire. Yes, this has led to some hilarity
at the implication that LaCroix got the stake out and flew out of the
loft in all the confusion, sans clothes. :)

The first time we saw red eyes was LaCroix's reappearance in the
present at the end of Love You to Death. The redness was added in
postproduction, because it seemed like a good idea to the special
effects guy. He later explained it in a Knightly News as indicating
that LaCroix was *really* furious this time.

I've always supposed that the variation in the next seasons had to
do with how angry the vampire was.

For the new member who asked, Nigel's voice over begins, "he was
brought across." There has never been any doubt about that.

Subject: Future of the show

Hi,

I know that I have been uncharacteristically quiet as of late, but I think
like many others that I just needed time to regroup.]

When I first saw the post about "will you stay" I was truly hurt. I
couldn't imagine after all we had been through that anyone would just up and
leave if the show was in fact temporarily canceled (I have not given up
hope!) We have bonded together here and performed near miracles and I
couldn't understand why anyone would want to leave. It was gratifying to see
so many of you say "no way" and I realized that these posts were in fact a
good thing and a moral booster.

On the subject of "revenge", I would like to think that these people have
better things to do than sit around and want to get revenge on us. And
revenge for what? I don't think that TriStar gets that much say in the show
that they dictate the script, but I could be wrong. As far as JP,as far as I
know,he has nothing but good things to say about everyone. So in one upset
moment he asked us not to call Feltheimer's office. Let us not forget that
this show,this industry is some people's careers,their lives,not their
entertainment,like it is to us.

In light of Kira's post, I don't want to get into spoilers, but no matter
what the rest of the season is to bring us,as a Cousin,I'm not going to go
"Knightie" and start angsting over it! <SECG> (thats a sly, evil cousinly
grin!) This is TV and they can do just about anything, look what they did
with LC in the past. Another example looks like the resurrection of
"Sliders",if there are any fans of "Sliders" out there who have seen the
preview,it looks like they are not going to pick up where they left off,but
they are starting anew. That could possibly be due to the fact that Nick Lea
who plays "Krychek" on "X-Files" was too busy to film "Sliders". The point
I'm trying to make is that if they are intending to have sequels or
mini-movies,then they will find a way to undo anything they have done. We
have (most of us) learned to accept "Tracy" and many of us were thrilled to
accept "Vachon" and "Reese" even seems to have grown on us.

I'm not giving up hope. I wasn't here for the first campaign, but I know
that it took over a year to bring the show back. I was a viewer from Day
One,yet I never knew about the last campaign, we have to find the people
like me who are out there now,the ones that don't know that FK is possibly
being canceled and get them to take action too.

We have to be proud of all we have done and all that we have learned. We
made TPTB stand up and take notice of us,more than notice,we made the people
at TriStar down right hate us! We were more than an mere annoyance,we were
down right threatening and we did it with style and grace.

Nick's birthday is in March, but I don't know if that's taken from the show

Not necessarily "very young." That's only a difference of 14-15
years. How old would you say LaCroix was when he was brought across? If
he was in his mid-to-late thirties, he would have been in his young
twenties to watch Rome burn. Do the history books note that Nero was a
*good* musician? If not, then perhaps he scraped away -- certainly
allowable for a madman.

Subject: Character's birthdates

The only birthdate we have in canon for Nick is Jan. 1, 1958, which
occurs in the personal file which Larry Merlin created for him in
Hunters in the first season.

The day is probably fake, since Nick accidentally tells Stonetree
the wrong year, 1957, when asked and claims he always gets the year
mixed up because he was born on New Year's Day.

Personally I doubt that this would happen in reality, but it does
explain the choice of date.

As for his mortal birthday, we've never been told that.

No one else's birthday has been established.

Natalie, according to Only the Lonely, must have been born in 1962.
The actual day is probably in June. Allen Braunsdorf got enough of
a look at the calendar on the wall in the flashback to see that the
date read either Jan or Jun. Since the characters are shown in the
park in summer clothes, it must be June.

I personally favor a late June date, since I can't imagine Nat as
a Gemini and think Cancer is quite likely.

A while back I asked what the proper way was to get adult fiction that is posted

how to subscribe to JADFE. Unfortunately, that wasn't quite right for either
question and those of us on the JADFE list have been getting a lost of people
trying to subscribe to it. I've been answering them individually with the
proper way to do it, but it is getting a little out of hand. If you want to
subscribe to JADFE you send your subscription information to Majordomo@j.......
NOT JADFE@j....... - that's the list itself. Or, you can subscribe thru the web
by hitting their web site at http:///www.evil.org/fkfic/adult.html. They have a

Not to worry, Dotti- I can tend to them. It's my job as co-god of jadfe,

Just a mention- if you sub through the web page in doing so you submit an
age statement which is required for being subbed. If you simply send
mail to the majordomo, your mail will be forwarded to me, and I will
email you asking for an age statement, statement of intent (ie 'I want to
be subbed to jadfe') from the account which you want subbed.

To save us all time, you can either do the web page thing or email me
directly. :)

If you want to know what you might be getting into, you can take a look
at either the adult section of the fkfic-l archive, or email me and I can
send you the jadfe FAQ.

"Oddly" is the right word here. LC's "sense of community" is a very, *very*
recent one. He did not exhibit this so-called sense of community at all until
this season, when we were all flummuxed by what we thought was his very
atypical behavior! I think that LC's deep, abiding care for the community was
tacked on by TPTB in order to give the Raven a reason to exist as a place for
LC to hang out in after Janette left. The best use of LC's new-found care for
his brethren vamps is, of course, "Fever".

Subject: Ger's Ghost Mom

I was wondering - I remember seeing "Ghost Mom" on TV a few years back (and
thinking then boy, what a cutie he is.....) anyway, does anyone know if that was
ever released to video tape or who has the rights to it? Do you think it might
get shown again at some point?

I'd love to see it again, I thought it was kinda cute then, but now the thought
of 2 hours of Ger would be even more fun now. Think of the jokes -- considering
it deals with someone coming back from the dead--(giggle).

Um, what is this new list for? Other than FK I mean. What's different?
Considering I already belong to 4 FK lists I'm curious... :)

Subject: Tapes

I don't know if any of you care or not since I know many of you
have grand ep collections already, but I thought I'd post this anyway. I'm
going home for Spring Break (big jump for joy) and I would be willing to
copy some of my tapes for a few people if anyone is interested. I have
all of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (so far) seasons. HOWEVER, 3 or 4 of my eps
are missing a few minutes, some of the 2nd season is a bit staticky (but
watchable of course), there are commercials, and they are on the EP/SLP
mode. I know these are big howevers, but if anyone needs like one or
just a few eps, I would try my best. Let me know before Friday (privately
please, as I am nomail during mid-terms) if you are interested. Thanks!
