On Sun, 30 Jun 2013 15:40:44, Walt mentioned this as a wonderful scene:

Quite a charming armful, yes!

Father Rochefort is an interesting character. Young, earnest,
concerned--and utterly unhelpful. I'm not at all surprised that Nick gets
so antagonistic. During that interrogation scene, he and Stonetree have
such *very* different ways of approaching the man.

To a degree, I think they're actually playing "good cop, bad cop", of
course; but I also get the impression that Stonetree has a greater sympathy
with Rochefort's position. Which is the more interesting when you consider
that Nick must surely have been raised a Catholic (and makes me wonder
whether Stonetree may not also be Catholic).

After all, there's a serial killer out there.

Subject: the NATPE Seven

I'm sure there are plenty of people on list who recall the "NATPE Seven",
the fans who went to the NATPE convention in January 1996 to try to lobby
the TV executives to save Forever Knight. The story of their mission was
reported on list and later written up; and Diane Echelbarger put several
webpages about it on her website, "The Pewter Gryphon", complete with
photos.

Well, I've found Diane's site on the Wayback Machine, and much of it is in a
very restorable condition. Howeve, the vagaries of the Internet Archive's
recording procedure are such that the *best* version of the Pewter Gryphon
is the earliest. This means that there's a lovely page with photos of three
dolls that were dressed as Nick, Janette, and Natalie, and then sold for
charity. (You'll be seeing them soon, I promise.) Diane later took the
page down; but the Wayback Machine has preserved it. For posterity, you
might say...or auld lang syne, if you prefer.

What I *don't* have is a good copy of her NATPE Seven report. Most of the
*text* is there, but only some of the pictures. However, as it was an
historic event (at least from a fannish p.o.v.), I'm wondering if anyone out
there might have decided to keep a copy for themselves--either of the
webpages, or just the pictures.

If so, please get in touch. I would love to be able to restore the NATPE
Seven report, as well as the rest of Diane's site.
