Oldtimers may remember what Nigel said; but it's not something I've ever read before. It's fascinating to see him trying to make sense of the final episode by superimposing a measure of continuity on Season Three. It *is* darker in many ways, of course; but I doubt if--at the time each episode was written--there was any intention of creating a context for a finale. (They did not, after all, initially expect the series to be cancelled so abruptly.) However, I can see how, from an actor's perspective, interpreting LK as the climax to a season of doom would help to justify its content.
