By then, I'm not slammed with Christmas projects, and I've finished making the girls' winter wardrobes. I have a lot of stuff to make the next few months, clothes and toys being on the short list. Jan or Feb would be a bit easier for me since it will be past out peak season at work, but I'm good for anytime. The sooner we decide on the War timing, the easier it will be for me to schedule the PTO. Now I'm picturing trying to explain to my boss why I want the time in January. It occurs to me that we may possibly avoid this if, instead of just saying vaguely "bring it up in the New Year", we instead take the time *now* to set a *date*. An actual firm DATE. If we do, then we'll all have that date fixed in our minds. That very certainty should, I hope, carry through NaNoWriMo (for those doing it), and Thanksgiving (for Americans), and Christmas (for most of us). It will be a promise of fun in the cold, dark, snowy holiday-less days in the early New Year. I mean, it's easy after all the end-of-year busy-ness to forget to bring up mere *talk* of war. It should be harder to forget that on a specific date, you've got to arrive in Toronto with the rest of your faction! Greer, I can promise this time it won't be forgotten or dropped, not with a definite date. Now, when shall we start? I suggest Jan. 13th, a Saturday, for the start, and midnight in the WM's time zone on Jan. 21st, a Sunday, for the end. I think this time I will consider requests for extensions, but only after a list discussion on Forkni-l. I have never participated in a War and probably never will, but noticed that most people prefer 2 weeks. The suggested dates only allow for 9 days. Comments?
