Two weeks (plus a >little lag time for late posts) is pretty well the minimum--and >also, if you look at old wars, a fairly typical length. I think ... 3 TIMES ... so that it, indeed, lasted the normal 2 weeks. The only restriction, I think we need to watch out for, is November is NaNoWriMo month and far too many of the fkwar participants are also participants in that writing challenge ... and TWO writing projects scheduled at the same time leaves our fkwar without some of its best writers. I also think it should be for 2 weeks. I don't think it's possible to have a war in a shorter amount of time. I'm pretty much up for war at anytime really. Most of my posts will be done late at night (EST) since I work second shift, so there may be a delay in any replies/messages/emails/posts from my end, but I WILL post/reply! :-) ~Bast ________________________________ I agree with Geer. I know there are some people here (myself included) who participate in NANOWRIMO (National Novel Writing Month), which takes place in November. It would be difficult if not impossible to conduct a War at the same time for me. It's also NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) and last year, NaHWM (National Health Writers Month), meaning that those of us who blog, and especially those of us who blog in the health/e-health/m-health/e-patient space have our hands full writing and researching more than usual (many daily bloggers take the weekends off, and many patient bloggers write about more than just our particular health conditions). It's also American Diabetes Month, which means that my for-pay blog requests us to post more frequently than usual (though NOT daily), often on specific themes. For me, that's at least as much extra work as participating in War (I presume the workload hasn't changed much since War 11, for which I was mostly on the sidelines while Nicolas de Bearbant (aka "the Vampbear") had a bunch of crazy adventures, requiring me to learn more about the Salvation Army than I ever thought I'd need to know...). The other thing about a little-advance-notice war is that a number of the more prolific writers used to have to schedule their vacations around War so they'd have enough time to write and research. Most people can't take off two weeks from work without *some* advance notice. Brenda F. Bell webwarren@e.......
