Subject: Attention Stratford-Goers: Who Wants a Filming Sites Tour and/or a
Dinner Party in Your Honour?

Howdy everyone,

If you're planning to come out to Stratford and/or the Toronto area for Do
Not Go Gentle and/or Goodnight Disgrace between Oct. 15 through November 7,
and you'd like a tour of FK filming sites and/or a dinner held in your
honour attended by a huge contingent of Toronto fans (okay, so it's not
huge, but we're re-growing our local network ever since letting it slide
during the late 90's, and we're up to about 8 now...not quite the halcyon
days when we had 30-35 local fans, but we're trying!), then please drop me a
note to say hello.

These tours have always been offered free of charge and we absolutely love
meeting fellow fans.

So far, I have two tours & dinners tentatively scheduled, because the
tourists involved will be here during different weeks, details TBA (okay
pretty soon on the first because it will probably be THIS weekend!!).

I'm guessing that it's probably going to be tricky to have just one tour and
just one post-tour dinner for absolutely everyone who's coming to Toronto
and wants a tour & dinner, because so many people are coming at different
times. So, I expect to be possibly organising one tour & dinner each week -
probably either on the weekend or weekday nights, because I won't be free
during weekdays for the next two weeks, but I'll try my best to be flexible.
Also: Most of the local fan community prefers weekends, so you'll get better
attendance then, but if you absolutely can't make a weekend, I'm sure that
we can find a few folks, but not a herd. :-)

Cheers,
Will

You know you're an FK writer when... it takes you just over three hours to
watch a 40-minute episode, because you can't resist going back, re-analyzing
interesting bits, and pulling out your notebook to scribble dialogue and plot
ideas. *sigh* So much for my plans to go to bed before midnight.

Oh, and I just tried to go to www.fkfanfic.com and it said it was 'under
construction and coming soon'. Huh?

The domain registration is up for renewal again. This is happening
every year. She needs to remember when the domain needs to be renewed so
this doesn't happen or tell us she doesn't want to keep it up any more.
Do not worry about the stories. The site hasn't been updated in 3
years and I have it downloaded so none of the stories have been lost.

I'm sending this without the war: topic because I want to be sure everyone
knows. People who want to be set to war: on either list will need to let me know.
I'll also post instructions. People who want to set -war: so they don't get the
war or war talk will need to do the same things. Note: if you're on digest,
you will get all topics, including war. I"m sorry, but that's how the listserv
works and there's nothing Don or I can do to change. it. Digest people would
either need to come off digest and set -war:, or go nomail for the period.

Now, the war dates are: November 8th through November 22nd. The exact start
and stop times haven't been determined yet.

Does anyone have Mel's email address so we can email her to find out if
she intends on renewing the domain name? She has it registered with
networksolutions and they are pretty high. She could have it transfered
to a different registrar that doesn't charge as much. Namesecure is
one that is cheaper.

And Lisa, what are your thought about me uploading the site to one of
my sites? This happens every year and one day Mel is going to find that
she is unable to keep it up. How will we know when that happens if we
can't contact her?

I think it would be good to have a backup site. I have a lot of extra space
on my site. I too would be willing to maintain the site, and even add new
stories to it. I know real life gets busy, but it would be nice to keep the
site updated. Or perhaps Mel can allow an associate access to update it for
her. I'll always maintain a FK site, so this is another possibility as I
have a lot of space that I'm not using. I would be willing to help Mel or
Steph in any way.

I too think this needs to be done, but don't know how to contact Mel either.

I don't have anything but the one that was associated with the site. Will the
host forward a message to her, since they must have one that works.?

>And Lisa, what are your thought about me uploading the site to one of

I don't have a problem with this at all. I think we need a backup in case we
lose Mel's site unexpectedly. If Mel does object, she can say so and you can
take the backup offline if necessary.

Agreed, although I have to say that the last I heard, which was several years
ago from someone else, she was in poor health as well as overworked.

I tried contacting her through the ISP the last time this happened and
they wouldn't forward anything. I found an address for her so am trying
that one. Hopefully she will answer. I told her we would help in any
we could.

If anyone wants to read the stories. I uploaded the site to:

The scripts aren't there ( polls, counts, etc. , but the stories,
pictures etc. are.
