Subject: LC and Divia vs. LC and Nick or Janette

I always thought that LaCroix was so repulsed by Divia's coming onto him that
he struck out and killed her because he was her mortal father. Lucius was
decidedly not a saint as a mortal <g>, but apparently he had the normal incest
taboo hardwired into his consciousness. Nick and Janette, OTOH, are biologically
unrelated to him so there is no psychological reason in the FK universe why LC
should an incest taboo about them.

Just my own view, of course.

In this, *ahem*, vein, I'll mention psychic experiences. I'm sure a number
of people on this list have known "psychic contact" with one or more other
people. When two or more people are extremely "open" psychically with each
other, and interact on a psychic level, the experience is extremely intense
and sexual -- despite the fact that the people interacting can literally be
continents away! I've only rarely experienced anything even *remotely* like
it in a physical sexual relationship; the tensions and releases are
completely different.

I think most of us have experienced that sort of feeling at least once in
our lives...

Sounds to me more like -- and we've certainly seen evidence of this on-air
-- LC gets his jollies "mind-f***ing" Nick. Now, what part of *that*
relationship is, er, related to the sharing of blood (and other bodily
fluids)... is up for individual interpretation.

>It's all mind games with those two, you know. :-)

Exactly.

>I have a hard time buying the lovely-dovey scenario, but the coercion one?
>Oh, yes.

I'm ambivalent on whether or not the two have had a physical sexual
relationship, but like many things in FK, in that ambivalence lies the
strength and the charm.

Any site that has a Schanke theme should have the
story "Trust" by Dorothy Elggren. The link is
http://www.loftworks.com/wftk/trust.txt
but I would think you'd need her permission to link to
it.

Hmmm. Maybe the reason that Janette and LaCroix find cows' blood to be
distasteful is because it lacks the tasty emotions, memories, etc. of human
blood. But a maybe a carouche could access that aspect of animal blood (because
of their nature--but perhaps only one species; rats for Screed, dogs for Jody
Fraser) and human blood too (because they're human themselves).

By that logic

Since Screed drinks all that rat blood

does he see life from a rat's point of view?
Does he have a craving for cheese?
And an intence fear/hatered of cats?

And
would Perry's owner take on some dog charistics

Does she (I suddenally can't think of her name) chace cats
and have to spin around 3 times before sitting down
(as dogs do)

I have to add my comments to Libs'. There are a
number of people on this list, including myself, who
will take exception to the idea that being gay is
'gross'. So, I sincerely hope that your comments were
strictly aimed toward the relationship between the
characters.

As for the father/son relationship, you might remember
that the title of 'father' is an honorary one and the
relationship would not be incestual in any way. Same
for 'brothers'. And friends can sometimes make the
best partners. I'm not advocating that it HAS to be a
relationship with gay overtones, but I think given all
that we have been told and shown about vampires in
general, it would not be surprising that it would at
one time or another taken an intimate turn.

I've been trying to compose my thoughts on this fun
subject, and then Nancy K went and read my mind,
saving me the trouble. ;-)

<<Nancy Kaminski wrote: I think it's a mistake to see
vampire/vampire relationships as sexual in the human
sense. What is important is the sharing of blood; any
human-style sexual activity would be icing on the
cake, so to speak.>>

From what I've seen, it's all about the blood. What
this would mean for a vamp/mortal "love bite" I'm not
sure...assuming that the mortal in question didn't get
drained dry, turning a one night stand into a one last
stand, that is. :-p In the FK world, does the mortal
get blissed out during the bite, or is that just shock
or mental domination? In other words, could Nick and
Nat (or Tracy and Vachon, heh) both get pleasure from
the vampire version of sex?

And has it been revealed (so to speak) whether or not
male vamps can even *have* sex in the mortal fashion?
We know that females can (Janette and the whole
strange "boink them to become like them" cure), but
that can be a more passive thing, after all. I always
thought that Nick implied that they could, but LC
seemed rather disdainful of the whole thing, IMHO.

Look at Amelia's face in Crazy Love. She seems to be totally enraptured
at Nick's bite. Same goes for Alyssa in the wedding night scene. So it
seems to me that the bite itself is pleasurable (maybe there is some initial
shock).
Usually in psychology a vampire bite is equalled with the *other* act (to
keep it PG, lol).

How would one explain Serena's assumption that Nick has impregnated her if
they didn't actually 'do' it?
The flashes he has on the CN Tower do suggest that they at least got to
regions below the neck.

just my 2 cents,

Yep, but that doesn't account for the look on Nat's face during Last Knight.
She doesn't look like she's having any fun at all; in fact, it looks like it
hurts like CRAZY!

I always thought it was less physical, more emotional pain. She asks him to
MAKE LOVE to her and he goes straight for her neck. Then she sees the scenes
from his past PLUS the realization that he is actually killing her. OR, to
blame it on TPTB (I've never seen the LK script, so I don't know if there is
anything in it regarding Nat's expression): another continuity blunder. BTW,
Alexandra didn't look that pleased, neither does Liselle.

Yes, the bite is almost always pleasure for both the victim and the vampire
unless the victim is in shock or it's a violent bite. "Crazy Love" is a
perfect example for both Janette and Amalia (she begs for repeats even).
Alyssa, Erica, Francesca, Liselle (she's in shock at first, but in the 2nd
view she seems to be gasping in pleasure), girl in "The Fix," red girl in
GVP, Sophie, and on and on...LOL! None of the women Nick has bitten have
actually screamed in pain either (except the whore in Let No Man Tear
Asunder, but this was a violent bite). The experience is very powerful as
Nick states in "Francesca" - every drop of blood as your whole life in it
and you basically share lives with the person. The bite is like a vampire's
climax during love making. The kissing, etc simply lead up to that.
