I am looking for three stories all by CJ Sachiko. E-mail to her
bounces, and her site no longer exists. Hopefully, someone will have
them and send them to me:

Nat's Lucky (K)Night
A Really Slow (K)Night
Nat's Dreamy (K)Night

Thanks.

Thank you all for the stories. For some reason I had the other 4, but
not those 3. I'll enjoy reading them now.

Get your minds out of the gutter...<g>

Anyhoo, after reading a bunch of fanfic, I am wondering in the show
did LC call Nick 'Mon Fils'? (sorry for spelling mistakes I don't
really know French) It has been said in several fanfics (various
authors) that it was LC's kind of special pet name for Nick, but I
don't recall it in the show. Did I miss it? I kind of like it, so
if I *did* miss it, could someone point out the ep or eps it is in?
Thanks!

September 6, 2003

Check out today's Toronto Star (thestar.com) for a big story on the
conversion of the building that was used as the Loft. I don't know if the
picture will come out in the online version or not, but they show the roof and
the water tower.

The article is in the Condo Living section, the building is now called The
Broadview Lofts. The units seem enormously expensive to me, especially for that
area, but I guess people will buy them. A lot of units are already sold, and
they don't even start the construction for months yet, according to the
article.

A message from Lynne Ackerman in Toronto (or, as we like to call it,
"Hollywood North"). Via e-mail: lynnea212@a.......

Condo has prescription for airy spaces

PATTI WINSA
TORONTO STAR

The words "wide-open spaces" are usually reserved to describe the great
outdoors. But at Broadview Lofts in Toronto, they refer to what's inside.
The lofts in the former Rexall Drug Trading Company building at Eastern
and Broadview Aves. will be open-concept and remain true to the original
industrial proportions of the 1914 building, with 11-foot ceilings and
oversized windows.

A new sales office opened recently (by appointment only) at 468 Queen St.
E. and reconstruction of the building will begin this fall by the Sorbara
Group. The project is already 60 per cent sold.

The building will have 156 units, ranging in size from about 800 to 2,000
square feet and in price from $220,000 to $550,000.

The plan is to "freshen up the building," says Moira Morris, Sorbara's
manager of marketing and sales. That means "bringing everything up to
residential standards, but we really want to maintain the feeling of the
old building."

The conversion will concentrate on refurbishing the original materials in
the building, she says.

The exposed timber ceilings and large structural timbers will be
sandblasted, along with the original brick.

New ductwork will be exposed and the units will have halogen track
lighting. Soundproofing materials have been used between units and the
poured concrete floors will diminish sounds from above.

Oversized balconies are available as an option.
Morris says installing balconies for every unit would have diminished the
industrial look of the building.

She suggests sales have been brisk because Broadview is not just a
standard condo with high ceilings.
"It's a true loft, and people are recognizing that and snatching them up.
They're realizing there are very few available in the city," says Morris.
The penthouses will have rooftop solariums with walkouts to private
terraces.

Floor-to-ceiling windows will complement French balconies.
About a third of the lofts will have views of the interior courtyard,
which will have natural landscaping including boulders and pathways.
A common rooftop area and garden will also be landscaped and offer views
of the city.

A rooftop solarium will be available for rental.
The building is attracting a mix of buyers including young professionals
and empty nesters, Morris says.
