Subject: Re: Hello, All

Well, guess I can come out of lurkdom long enough to introduce myself. I'm
44, have been married 24 years, and have a 17-year-old son and an
"I'm-almost-16"-year-old daughter. The former aspires to be a chef, though
he won't cook at home, and the latter aspires to be a model. Hopefully,
she'll do well at her upcoming competition and we'll have an agent to
actually make that dream come true. Keep your fingers crossed...I think....

I ran across FK during the "Crimetime for Primetime" era, but I didn't keep
up with it because a) I work full time and it was on rather late and b) had
two small children at the time. I just kept falling asleep before it came
on. Found it again on Sci-Fi while staying home with a sick child, and I've
been hooked ever since. I always thought Nick was cute. Then I saw this
tall, imposing figure in black, and when he spoke, The Voice called to me.
I fell for LaCroix hook, line and sinker and have never looked back. <G>

I've been to two LCAs, and I met some really great folks there. It's always
fun to put faces with names.

While I don't post a whole lot on this list, you can find me frolicking with
Nunkies Anonymous during wartime. I'm easy to spot. I'm the one in Mickey
Mouse ears. ;-)

Ok, since this thread keeps going, I will introduce myself as well, some of
you already know me from other fandoms...

I first found the Nick Knight movie and thought, gee, that would make a cool
show. I saw a few first season episodes, but the first one I ever saw was
"False Witness" still one of my favorite episodes. I followed it around, which
was hard because it kept getting pre-empted by basketball games and west coast
baseball games. Then it moved to USA, then it ended. I was pretty involved
in other fandoms in the past, and never really cared for all the politicking
etc. Even tho I was pretty internet savvy I really didnt seek out FK online.
At that time real life had me by the throat and I didnt have time for much
else. About 5 years ago things started settling down for me. I slowly started
rekindling my fandom contacts. Two years ago the dam burst and I was able to
begin pursuing some of my back burner obsessions. FK being one of those. Then
I discovered the list, one of many, and the rest is history.

I live in Ohio very near Kent State University. My kids are in college on the
west coast -- Daughter at SDSU and son in Redmond WA at Nintendo's Digipen 3D
Amimation School. Both are quite brilliant and I expect great things will
come their way. I have 4 cats, or they have me.. I am proud to say all of them
are rescues.

I read way too much fanfic for my own good. (I used to write, mostly Trek
and Galactica Fiction, but not for years and years.) I love to travel and am
always game to meet up with people who like the same obscure shows, actors,
things that I like. I have met Ger at Stratford and just last month in Chicago,
but have met many other actors from other series as well.. (star trek classic
mostly, boy do I show my age) I love movies and theatre, especially musicals,
have seen many plays. I have seen Phantom of the Opera 5 times. The last
time Just this past April in London (oh yeah, I went to Wales too).

I consider myself first and foremost a CaddyWhacker (it is the real star of
the show after all) but I lean toward the UF (for a long time I thought it
stood for Uncle F***er but was finally set straight) too much for my own good.

I support several charities, most prominently Amigos de las Americas (picture
Peace Corps for High school and college age kids) Any one curious, or want
to get rid of your kids for a summer can check it out at www.amigoslink.org.

Well, that's the only way that we *know* it to work...

No, I think it might have increased his respect for Don, but that
increased naturally with time.

She was forced to admit that her solution left him too weak. And, as for
explaining his need for a transfusion, she could say that he was
unconscious due to internal bleeding, or shock, or whatever she thought
he would accept.

>Also if Natalie was trying to get Nick off the blood...why give him a
>transfusion and how would she explain his need for one?

an interesting question. It is clear A lot happened during that
commercial break.

First the police came and found the loft on fire, the murderer dead,
Nick (unconsious?) and Alyce (dead?) and jeannie injured.

The fire department had to be called . Natalie showed up. Nick and
company were taken out of the building. and checked over. treated for
smoke inhalation or whatever. I presume Alyce and the murderer were
pronounced dead on the scene.

During this confusion Natalie somehow managed to conceal the fact that
Nick's vital signs were none existent from the fire department and
paramedics. and pronounce that what he really needed wasa blood
transfusion. Did she then grab Schanke off the street. and take
blood from him right then and there in the driveway. (remember Nick's loft
is on fire.) even if it was out by now the fire department would want to
make sure it was safe before they let anyone back in the building.

Did people assume Nick had been attacked by the murderer which is why
he needed blood?

And what about Alyce? Did Natalie misplace another patient in the morgue?
or was she off looking after Nick when Alyce disappeared? Judging from
the way she and Nick acted during the scene at the museum, there was
nothing to suggest that eight of them had any idea that Alyce had come
across.

Well, since everyone else seems to be doing this. :) Hi, I'm Lynne, I've
been on this list pretty much since it started, and was watching FK back
when it was on "Crimetime after Primetime" on evil CBS about a gazillion
years ago. (OK, not quite a gazillion--how old is this list, anyway? :)
) I'm one of your list elders at age 47. I hardly ever post anymore...
somehow that brings to mind LaCroix saying in AMPH how when a vampire gets
really old, he/she doesn't need to feed very often. :[

Oh, and while I have your attention... I'm going to be in Toronto in July
for Toronto Trek -- my first time at that con, and my second visit to
Toronto (I was there for the Shrewthering). Anyone else going to be there?
I notice there's no FK programming listed (I am arriving there many years
too late, luckily I'm a Buffy fan too!) :)

Ther may be no FK programming at Toronto Trek, but FK itself is still airing

Okay, I'll give. I'm 44, no pets, one kid, one husband, and I live in
_______. I was bitten with the vampire bug when our high school drama
class did Dracula for the school play. I missed FK during the first run
(despite being in Canada & knowing about it) because I had my hands full
with ds, who was a baby/toddler then.

I discovered FK on Showcase three years ago, and I joined the list
shortly after that.
I have an FK Faq stored on the files at
www.groups.yahoo.com/group/forkni-l. I'd have to call myself a Die Hard.

Hi

My name is Sue. I started watching Fk back when it was crimetime after prime
time (I wanted to kill David letterman for knocking it off).

It was actually the first show I taped (used old tapes and SLP speed but didn't
know any better then). Now I have a million versions of them so hope to get the
DVD.

I logged onto this list in Oct of 95. I actually joined the FK club (no defunct)
up in Canada . (did get my fangs though). I also joined Ger's fan club at the
same time. (my kids thought I was crazy). Heck I thought I was crazy.

I used FK as a means to explore the internet. What better than a FK picture to
learn how to download a picture. (it came in handy when I had to download tax
files).

I went to see Ger in Toronto in Taming of the Shrew and met many a fellow fan. I
fell in love with the fandom as well as the show. I then went out to G2 in Santa
Barbara and had a blast. Since them I have been to 4 Gertherings, 3 LCA's as
well as various trips to Nova Scotia , Chicago, Tucson and Toronto to see both
Nigel and Ger.

I have played in a few Wars on the list and reading them back now I am crazy.
So, FK has brought me so many new friends all across the county. In fact I think
I go on half these trip just to be with my friends (great excuse don't you
think).

I am slightly younger than Ger have 2 kids and 1 hubby. Kids are 15 and 12 and a
nutty dog who we had to chase all over the neighborhood tonight. I work as a
college professor/CPA and go nuts in tax season but love to have things like the
Chicago trip to look forward to each year. I lucked out that many of the events
take place in late April/May.

I hope this list and this fandom last forever.

Since everyone's been so kind to share their life stories ...

here's me ...

I'm 45, single (no pets, alas... allergies... ick), and I, like so many others,
discovered FK during CBS's 'Crimetime After Primetime". I'd seen the Rick
Springfield "Nick Knight" tv movie, and I thought the premise (vampire becomes
a homicide cop) was pretty cool.

I'd been injured in a car accident a few years ago, and I had a VERY long
recuperation time. Often, the pain from my injuries would keep me awake at night,
and I'd be in search of something to watch late at night. When I came across
FK back in May of 1992, the first ep seemed familiar, and yet different at
the same time.

I got hooked on the show, and I'd watch it no matter what time it came on.
The local CBS station in _______ ran the third season every Saturday night at
10:30 pm, and I taped every ep. When Sci-Fi started airing the show, I was
able to get the first and second season taped, so now I have all three seasons.
I'm looking forward to getting the FK DVD's though, so I can retire my heavily
watched tape collection.

Also during my recuperation time, I began writing fiction (beginning with
some song-based fiction), and in the process, I started writing FK fiction.
Most of my early FK fic has been lost to several moves, but... when I'd heard
about ForKni-L and FKFic-L when I got a computer back in 1997, I signed up
immediately.

I'm still writing, and I have a few new FK stories up my sleeve which I hope
to be able to share with you as soon as I get my new computer. My faithful
word processing computer (which has stored most of my recent FK and other fic)
is on it's last microchip, and I'm eagerly awaiting my new one :-)

Yet the whole show continues with the same "cure." Natalie still think he
needs to stop drinking the blood... if they establish in the first episode that
it didn't work......

Actually, that's exactly what the doctors are doing with my
prednisone. I'm tapering down, but if I'm having a problem, such as my
blood clots a couple years ago, they'll give me huge stress levels of
it. Then I go back to trying to taper.

So Natalie is basically treating blood as a dependency here, rather
than an addiction. Which makes more sense anyway.

I'll toss mine in.

I'm a young at heart 40 year old. My appearance is that of your
stereotypical Indian, long dark hair, black/brown eyes, olive
complexion. I have one Irishman, one Mustang and two Domestic
Shorthairs. I work in the Indian Gaming industry and live in Southern
California.

I'm a late comer to FK. Didn't discover it or the list until 98. I've
been hooked ever since.

I've been to one LCA (#3). Some of you may remember me as the one who
got to "reach in" for Nigel's Coke can. ;) That can is still proudly
displayed on my bookcase. (Thanks again, Jill. I'm forever in your
debt!)

I host the annual FOREVER KNIGHT in SAN DIEGO gathering, now in it's
third year. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FKinSD/

I'm a confirmed Vaq, but my relationship preferences run full circle:
Night Haven; UF; Valentine; Lonely Heart...
Vachon & Nick & LaCroix & Natalie & Vachon...
Hmm, but then there's Miklos & Tracy. (See what you did to me, Mary?)

My personal interests include working with horses (30+ years), riding
Harleys (15+ years) & dancing in gothic/industrial clubs (not long
enough).

Well, I guess that's me in a nutshell. (Hush up, Tab!)

Well, I might as well pop in here. My name is Stephanie Kellerman. I am
a network administrator for the State of Kentucky. I am 52, have two
kids,a daughter, 26, who is a great artist, and a son, 25, a computer
expert and is in Navy SEAL training. They both are in San Diego. I
have several cats and am into animal rescue. I also do the web site for
Santa Barbara Animal Rescue ( http://www.sbar.org ) in Santa Barbara,
California.

I first found FK during Crimetime after Primetime. The first episode I
saw was Ashes to Ashes. I was ecstatic that I had found a show I really
liked. The next week as I saw the words Last Knight across the tv
screen, I thought. "This sounds like the last show. They can't do this
to me!" Well they did. I also archive stories at the "FTP" site
(which has now been moved over to a web site)

I agree with everyone else in that this has got to be the greatest
fandom there is. I am in another one that has some troubles with
squabbles that never seem to go away, but this is like one big family.

I got to met Ger at the 3rd Gerthering. It was neat as his sons were
talking him into snowboarding and I snowboard so I told him to go for
it. He complained he was too old. I told him I didn't start
snowboardiing until I was 41. That was a neat unexpected connection.
