Since we're doing this again, here's mine:
I am 32 years old and live in _______, Nevada. I started watching FK back when it
was on Crimetime after Primetime. My husband is a truck driver, and was working
nights at the time, so I stayed up most of the night because I was too nervous
being alone with three kids. I found it again after it moved to USA and then
started taping it when it came on SciFi (though I am still missing a LOT of
eps!).
I found the list in 1997 and finally got my twin sister, Shana, addicted a few
years ago.
I am a true Nick/Natpacker, and Shana is a fanatical Valentine. (I still keep
trying to change that! >EG<)
I am still trying to get my scanner working so I can get the pics of Natalie

Ok, here goes and lets see if it works this time.

I will be 42 in august. I have a husband, one dog and twins, a boy and a girl
who just turned 9.

I started watching FK when it was on CBS. I had seen the original movie, and I
liked this version. A lot! <g> Trying to follow it in its various moves was a
lot of work, but worth it. I didn't get access to the internet untill after it
was cancelled after season 3. <sigh> But all the wonderful fans have kept
everything going with their web sites and their fiction. I have only been on
this list for a year and a half, I think. But I enjoy reading everyone's
thoughts. I still can find new things about this show, even after all this
time. As for writing fiction, I started with the poetry and I am working on a
story now, that I hope to post this summer. Phylis

I know other people lose interest in fandoms, find new ones to get
involved in, move on when a show goes out of production, but no matter
how many fandoms I take on, FK will always be my first online home. There's
just something about the FK online community, it feels like good friends or
family, I can't imagine leaving.

I'm Monica, I'm <gasp> 36 (how'd that happen?) and just finished my
Ph.D. in Education. I'm now running an after-school program in an

now, I'm a NYer at heart.
I discovered FK during the Valentine's marathon in Feb. of 1998. Talk
about confused. The marathon was a medley of eps - no order really.
Imagine if one of your first eps to see had been Curiouser and
Curiouser? I had seen just enough to know things were not normal!
I had just discovered fanfiction the month before (even that it existed)
and signed up to fkfic-l soon after the marathon. I had no intentions of
joining a discussion list. But by the next month I signed on to
forkni-l, cuz I was just aching to talk about this show! By the end of
April, I had seen enough of Uncle (LaCroix) to realize I was a cousin,
and signed up for Nunkies Anonymous (It was his outfit in Love You to
Death that did it <g>). I saw the third season first, so I don't really
have a preference for the first two seasons like many people (because I
didn't see them as replacing anybody, I figure).
Saying all that, I have in the last couple of years drifted from FK
fandom. I don't watch the eps much anymore. I don't even read much fk
fic anymore. (I've taken up with the Buffy crowd <gasp!><eg> as well as
others) But I have never wanted to take myself off of forkni. And it's
exactly because of what Laurie described. This list is like a huge
family. Lots of variety, in tastes, in opinions, there are arguments as
well as group hugs, but we always make up <g>. It is my first online
home, and I can't seem to cut the apron strings!
I'll mostly lurk, but I read all the posts. So, welcome, and get comfy!

Ok my turn. I am Phylis Sullivan and I became a fan of FK when it first aired
on CBS. I did not find the list or the fan fiction and all the wonderful fan
web sites untill a few years ago. So I missed out on all the original
excitement.

I will be 42 in August and have a husband and a dog. I also have twins who just
turned 9 a week ago. I could probably try and blame the grey hair on them, but
some of it was there before they even arrived. <g>

I'll add my $0.02 too.... I hope this isn't too long... I apologize if it
is.

I'm 32 and have been watching the show since the original pilot (Nick
Knight) I have almost every episode on tape too. Missing the last two I
think. Could be three. I taped Nick Knight when it was on cause I had to
work at the time and I thought it was really cool, being that I'm a vamp
nut! :-) I still have it too... ummm somewhere.

I live in Connecticut with my DH and am the willing (if sometimes
disgruntled) slave of to domestic short haired tyrants... erm I mean
cats. They are Sorcha and Ankhesunamun (Ankh for short) I found this list
MAAANY years ago when I was living in Massachusetts, but I was a lurker
only. (When I moved back to CT it took a few years till I could get back
online.) I found there were other "weirdos" like me who loved the show
too! (My roommate at the time was happy to find online forums and such
for his addiction, Highlander!) Yes, the two of us could hold an entire
conversation in Highlander and FK quotes and we knew EXACTLY what the
other was saying! The best time was at a Highlander/FK convention (My
brain has fried and I can't remember the name of the con) Nigel Bennett
was there and John Kapelos (I hope I spelled that right!) and one of the
captains I can't remember which one right now. But my roommate and I were
sitting in the bar talking in the "slang" that we used when from 2 inches
behind my head came Lacroix's voice! I almost snarfed my drink! Nigel and
John had been sitting at the next table listening to our conversation and
he said he couldn't resist! LOL The two of them sat with us for awhile
until the break was over in the concert that Dawson (from Highlander) was
playing and we all filed in for the second half of the show. It was very
cool.

As for my affiliations... well... I think I'm mostly a Die Hard... or a
Vaquera with Cousin tendencies and a few others thrown in too! :-)

about having to chop heads.(couldn't we just see Nat
trying to find a way to reverse her immie-hood..."if a

watch the next episode, and the next, and the next.... <g> I joined
this list in 1998, just after my daughter was born. Now she is 5, and
I'm 34 (feels more like 94 some days), and my husband is still wondering
why I have this odd fascination with cops (my other main fandom is The

I moved from America to Germany almost 4 years ago, and managed to get
almost all eps on tape before I left - they're getting a little 'snowy'
now but are still watchable, thankfully! My first faction was the NNP,
but I'm an Uffer at heart - although I do lean towards the Valentines
just a little <g>. I wrote some stories waaay back, just haven't had
the time to work on anything for the past... oh, 3 years or so... maybe

Me either. This was the third fandom I got involved in
online and even though I have some friends in the DS
fandom, I didn't have the same sense of belonging I do
here. I was really nervous when I first came onlist
because I had had a few bad experiences before and was
and still sometimes am worried about accidentally
offending someone though not so much now...I'm lots
more comfortable than I was at first.

I don't have to imagine...C&C *was* one of the first
eps I saw...somewhere in the first five. I didn't know
a lot about the show yet and I was like "where'd the
baby come from? When did he marry Janette?" and then
when I saw my next ep I was thinking "I thought he
killed that guy at the radio station. What's up with
that?" It also didn't help that my mom didn't like the
show at first and had a program she liked to watch at
10am, so we were constantly fighting over who got to
see what for a while. Things settled down after a time
though and then they moved FK and somehow the fighting
stopped and she started liking it LOL. Now she says
she misses it.

As for fic, I do write, though I'm trying to divide
time between Due South, Tracker, Forever Knight and
now Highlander and it isn't easy. I don't have a
website anymore but some of my fic is at
fanfiction.net under my online 'Mel' name. (I started
using Mel when I became hooked on Tracker and then
discovered the other Mel after I got involved in the
fandom.)

I'm a NNPacker mainly, but I also consider myself a
Knightie and I'll occasionally add 'with Light Cousin
tendancies' but only sometimes. I'm also a Knight of
the Cross, which is the faction of Christian FK fans.
Kinda a quiet list, but they talk every now and then
:)

Chiming in with my story... I am 49 (still, barely) and live on
_______, with a BA in Biology and an MBA (huh?). I work as a Project
Manager. I remember my Mom telling me about this vampire show on CBS late
night, but never thought to turn the channel from the Tonight Show. It
wasn't until USA began airing the third season that I tuned in on purpose
because the name of the show sounded vaguely familiar. That opening scene
of "Black Buddha", on the Titanic, grabbed me and I never missed another
episode. A friend at work, tired of me babbling incessantly about the show,
and that must have had some previous seasons, researched the Internet and
found the addresses of the now defunct Forever Knight Fan Club and the GWD
Fan Club. I joined both immediately, which was rather amazing as this was
the first time that I had ever joined a fan-based org. Through them I was
able to get to see season one and two, and so I was watching them along with
the first run season three episodes, simultaneously. FK overload? No, it
was wonderful! Then Gerthering II was announced and I was ecstatic that I
got to go! But my friends were incredulous... "You're flying from NY to LA
for the **weekend**? You're insane!" Mebbe. There I saw folks walking
around with T-shirts with FORKNI-L on them and asked about it. I eventually
figured out about listservs, thanks to some techies at work, and joined this
list. That I think was 1996(?)

Since then I have also been to some local NY gatherings of fans, and two
LCA's (hoping to get back this year), and have even met FK fans in other fan
groups. For War 11, I gathered my courage, and volunteered to be a Knightie
leader-in-training. It was the most exhilerating, creative and exhausting
two weeks that I have ever spent. I think I might have Vaquera
tendencies(!), but my other declared faction is Les Chevaliers de la Nuit,
basically for folks who like to talk about horses, though the list is mostly
silent these days. My horse is, at the moment, what is left of my
menagerie. I did have a Golden Retriever who was very well trained,
whenever she heard the FK theme, she would go lie down on her dog bed.
Except when the Perry-dog episode was on (Avenging Angel?), then she would
come sit at my feet and look at me imploringly - hehehe - she didn't like
the episode either, though I think it was really the dubbed sound of
whiney-dog that got to her.

I will say that List Mommy McLisa and List Gardener Don keep this list, and
FKFIC-L, very spiffy, and I love the fact that there is such a diverse group
of people here. I read an FK story just about once a week, and even pop in
a tape now and again to rewatch them for the umpteenth time. The characters
are so familiar, as if the TV show has been on for 7 or 10 seasond (oh don't
we wish) And so is this list... there is always something interesting to
be learned here. Thanks all!

I'm not sure if they still have them, this was right after Adrian Paul cut off
his hair... they were auctioning off his pony tail... yeeesh THAT was a
frightening scene to watch!

I had TOTALLY freaked earlier in the day, my roommate who is a comic book artist
(self publishes) was running around being a typical con boy and left me and a
freind to watch his table... well we were playing around with a random poetry
generator and we started using the same words so we were randomly picking people
passing by to give us words..

I was typing and my friend called out "excuse me can you give me a preposition?"
We got the preposition.. then Nigel practially screeched to a halt and came back
wanting to know WHY we wanted a preposition (I would have been happy with a
PROPOSITION but that's a whole nother topic! LOL So my freind showed him the
random poetry generator and he admired my roommate's artwork. He actually wanted
him to send him a mini story board for the graphic novel for Keeper of the
King... I never want to hear my (now) ex-roomamte b**** about how he is never
going to get anywhere in his comic career since he had an opportunity handed to
him on a silver platter and he did nothing with it! He even had Nigel home
address and phone number! I almost mugged him for it too! ;-)

Ummmm well.... at that time in my life the just about the ONLY time I WASN'T
wearing my fangs was when I was sleeping. I was seriously considering getting
them permanantly bonded to my teeth. Then I found out how much they wanted for
that! I'll stick with my cheapo custom fangs. I used to make them for a living.
The ones I make are made from nail acrylic and are pretty durable. I did learn
that if you sing in the car with them to practice speaking, you don't lisp as
much if at all. It took Nigel and John about 1/2 and hour to realize I was
wearing them. If I hadn't ordered those nachos they might have never noticed,
but I was hungry! :-)

his hair is long...do you think this was an after thought change?

furthered their friendship....since Nick was really part of Schanke now or visa
versa? Maybe when he hesitated on the steps he was assimilating Schanke's
thought's now in him. Maybe this helped him to see what a good guy Don was under
that weird facade.

Also if Natalie was trying to get Nick off the blood...why give him a
transfusion and how would she explain his need for one? Wouldn't the vampire
have to die for Nick to be free of it?

In Nick Knight the movie they explain how Schanke got the car repaired here
they don't go into it. Yet Nick still has the same car later. Obviously he
got it fixed.

Just idle thought's about the show.

Not really, but I could show you how. It's pretty easy to do. (I used to sell
them for $40 a pop and they usually take about 40/45 minutes to make.) You can
email me offlist and I can give you the instructions.
