*sigh* All right, time to take a trip to the library to pick up books on
mideval society. I've read a lot on Roman, but it would appear my education is
lacking.

I kinda figure it's the closeness of the relationship. LaCroix clearly liked
Francesca, and enjoyed her hospitality, but she wasn't one of his 'favs' ie,
Nick or Janette. Remember, he has several 'children' he doesn't give a bean
about. I imagine LaCroix *was* a little ticked, but not enough to make a huge
deal about it.

I was riding with my mom and a friend of hers trying
to find the pharmacy I had to get my prescriptions
from and along the way I saw a place called Nick's
Liqours. (don't think anyone else noticed)
Hm.....wonder if he also sells something else
bottles....we know he kept it in old wine bottles in
his fridge....

Francesca also says to LC somthing to the effect that "My master is always
welcome in any home of mine." This seems to say that LC is the one who
brought her across and she is Nick's sister in the same way that Janette is.

I have often wondered the same thing. There may be a little sexism here.
The son is more important than the daughter. Remember how LaCroix told
Nick to leave Janette behind in Hunters. Of course it is also possible
LaCroix thought Francesca should have known better than to serve Nick,
Faubert's blood.

I always found this episode interesting in that it showed a time when
LaCroix and Nick were obviously on very good terms with each other. Neither
of them blamed the other for being responsible for whatever the trouble
was that forced them to leave Paris in a hurry.

Doesn't that make it a V4S story? We haven't had one
in a while. It would be great to get this started
again.

It can be a story based on V4S, but it couldn't be an official "V4S" story as
those followed a certain procedure. No, I have no idea what is going on there
as I haven't heard anything in a long time. But if something doesn't hop
soon, I had several "pitches" in the loop that I might do as stories based on
V4S.<g>

Subject: Which ep?

I am being really lazy, but it is late and I have to go to bed
soon.... so instead of looking it up myself, or waiting until morning
and forgetting....
Which ep is it that Nick's background isn't in the police records and
he has to quickly go to Aristotle and get it put in?

Also, his birthday from that ep was 1/1/1958, right? I remember him
saying 1957, but the computer said it was 58.

Thanks! I just had an epiphany for a cute little fic.

I seem to remember something about her being his first daughter, but I
might have read that in a fic

He was mad, just not as mad as you'd expect. He looked like he was
holding back a lot

>Are there any fics where this has been treated or has
>this been discussed before?

I've got a fics in the works (and it's been there for awhile ;-) That
the reason LC is so... restrained about Nick killing Francesca is because
he was planning on bring Faubert (the violinist) across. All the time
Nick is with Francesca, Lacroix had been talking to the young, arrogant
Frenchman. Then, after Francesca killed him, LC was thrown for a loop.
Thus, not really being as mad at Nick as he would have been under normal
circumstances.

We all know how out of sorts Lacroix can get if he's denied something
;-)

It was Hunters, and it btw, it wasn't Aristotle, it
was Merlin. Aristotle was in Forward Into the Past.

I guess the V4S people are still working on some
stories (at least someone mentioned it a little while
ago). And the fic I'm working on is just set after LK
timeline wise. It doesn't really fit the V4S (I'm not
sticking to their 'canon' etc) and it's not really a
good 'police story' as the others in that season are.

It might still take some time until I can finish it
and it's the longest story I've ever worked on.

Hehe. It may not be Spike, but during Wars I am caretaker of Nick's Undead
Cactus (a fairly innocuous fellow, it just minds its own business and
doesn't so much as leave its pot, though I wouldn't suggest thwapping it
with your unprotected hand), along with the other Cousinly Critters. It was
given into my care in War 10 (right?), and I don't remember how its previous
slaves -- er, handlers -- came by it. All that mattered to me is that it
needed love. *sniff* *cuddle* Owch!

And I always liked Nick's hair when it was long in flashbacks. There are
some people on whom I do like the scruffy look, but Nick just looked grungy.
At least he was spared the Q-tip look, unlike the General.

(and because of my mini marathons this week, I HAVE actually been
watching FK)
1 - I got a email ad this morning that in the subject line it said
"Forever Flashlights" and I thought gee, flashlights for vampires!

2 - Yesterday I was loading up my mom's trunk with stuff from the
wharehouse club and noticed she had a trunk release inside the trunk.
And I mentioned it to her and she said the sales guy said for if
someone tries to kidnap you and puts you in the trunk. I said "or if
you're a vampire and need to travel during the day". She laughed! (I
was expecting an eye roll or something like that) Now she isn't a FK
fan or even vampires, but she knows I am.
