I need some help...

I'm re-organizing my hard disk in the hopes that I will acquire a CD
writer--or at least get access to one--so I can archive the several
hundred mgs of FK Fanfic. I have stories that either don't have the
writers name, or I neglected to record it when I downloaded it.

I present to you the title and first line (and an address if there
was one) of these stories and beg you to look it over and let me know
if you recognize a story and can tell me who wrote it. I really feel
strongly that anyone who posts their stories should have the credit.
I am not brave enough to post the silliness that came to me a while
back.

Heads Up!

Just received the April 2003 issue of Sci Fi magazine in the mail yesterday
and it has articles with interviews from both Nigel and Ger.

Pg. 64 "Forever Nigel - Nigel Bennett wields the ultimate power over life and
death in the Sci Fi original movie Do Or Die."

Pg. 67 "Do Believe The Hypercube - Geraint Wyn Davies wants out of a way-out
prison in Sci Fi's world premiere of Cube 2: Hypercube."

Does Mr. Bennett just like being a nasty bad guy? I have to admit he
does the part well, but I'd really like to see him as a 'good guy'.
Maybe in a white hat?

Does it say when? I'd like to watch/tape this.

Subject: Re: Series and Stories, Sigh

I really feel for both the readers and the writers of series
stories. But, mostly for the writers. As we all know, it
takes a lot to write a long series. The biggest problem is,
obviously, RL, and its unpredictability. It is common that
when a writer happens to find some free time in her RL, she
dedicates it to a story, the length of witch might be
proportional to the amount of that free time, which in turn,
depends on what is currently happening in her life. For
example, I wrote “In the Name of the Code” when I was away
for an internship job in Montreal. It was winter and I was
living in a one-room apartment with basically nothing to do
after work. So I wrote this big story. I can barely find one
tenth of that time now. So my projects are downsized to short
stories.

However, when someone starts a series, it is likely that it
will go on for a while, and while the writer’s RL keeps
changing, the nature and context of the story doesn’t. The
writer can’t customize a series according to her life, write
long portions when she has time and vignettes when she
hasn’t. That is why I am always a little reserved about
starting series, even thought there are at least three
different series ideas bouncing in my head right now. It’s
just that I don’t know about the future and I don’t want to
risk leaving them unfinished. So, conclusively, I say this: I
think people like Lorelei and Kylie are truly brave writers
to embark on such challenging ventures and their work is
admirable at any stage. I do hope that their RLs lend them
more free time so that they continue to dazzle us with their
great works.

My 2 cents.

You know you've been reading too much FK when:

You see parts of this new reality show called "Are you Hot"
and are reminded of April Hackett/Susan Fields' story "When
in Rome", where LaCroix was dreaming of buying Nicholas at a
slave auction and the seller kept pointing out his great
features and exquisite qualities. Seriously, that's what I
thought this show was like.

Which makes me ponder even more: They cancel our show and
give us meat market instead.

Boy, do I hear you! It's been months since I've written a word of fic, and
today I finally wrote a little. I feel so guilty over not posting any
stories, when I know there are loyal readers out there waiting ever so
patiently for the next story in the series! The guilt motivated me today :)

My biggest problem seems to be when I get to near the end. Which is where I
am now. I know how it ends, but it's getting those last bits to the end
that are vexing me! And then, when it's been months between writing, I have
to reread the whole story to remember what I've written!

Bah!

Sorry, the article didn't say when it was going to air. But the SFC website
says the airdate is March 22, 2003 at 9pm and 1am.

He was superb in "Different", opposite Lynn Redgrave,
playing a very sympathetic character.

Hi all. Sorry for cross posting again. Once again I wanted to make sure
everyone got to see this.

Because my previous post re sparked quite a snowballing discussion on some
lists, with others writing and getting different canned replies, I wrote
back & asked for confirmation & clairification. Below is what I got back,
and from a 2nd person, not who had originally told me.

HUGS!!

Nope. McLisa goofed with her cut and paste when retrieving the new rules from
last week's digest. Sorry about that -- I'd just been outside digging out of
about 8 inches of snow, barefoot in plain shoes (I left my boots at the office
Friday), so my brain wasn't really in overdrive.

saw a copy for the for first time in a very long time, our school
