Subject: LaCroix's advice

I haven't seen 'Blood Money' in quite a while, but I was of the impression that
it wasn't wealth in particular that LaCroix objected to-- it was Nick's
consummate greed. He didn't just want money, he wanted it NOW, and he didn't
care how he got it. That's both incredibly conspicuous and highly condusive to
irrisponsible use of said money. (You don't tend value that which requires
neither time nor effort.)

Does anyone know what piece of music Mr. Wyn Davies was playing at
one point in this episode? He had no music, so I wonder if it was his
own.

Hmmm, it shows up in Last Knight, doesn't it? Maybe that's evidence that
Last Knight really is really LaCroix's dream. It would kind of make
sense. A child of his has just been killed in front of him, with a stake
to the heart, so he has a dream about staking Nick. The dream was caused
by what happened to Divia, all mixed up with his anxiety that he might
completely lose Nick someday.

I thought it was 'Curiouser and Curiouser' which
*is* a dream episode.

That's an interesting way of looking at it. I'd thought it was Nick's dream,
after falling asleep by Tracy's beside at the hospital, or possibly Nat's
dream. Most of the flashbacks were hers, weren't they? Except for Nicks, but
then she could have had access to them while they were sharing blood.

I'm going up to Stratford for both of GWD's plays. I'll be there from 8/17

Subject: Another thought on Fkfic-l

Now that we are on the topic, I had some other thoughts
about Fkfic-l. I remember touring some of the x-files
fiction archives lately and sending feedback to one or
more authors. I noticed that some of them had their own
yahoo group lists for their stories. Here is an
explanation one of them gave for why she needed a list:

“Due to the nature of my stories, posting is limited, and
they tend to be scattered about amongst several archives.
It's hard sometimes for my readers to know when I have a
new one out, without having to join the lists I belong to
or to check the archives.”

It made me think about how lucky we are to have fkfic-l.
A place where everyone can post their stories and most of
the fandom can access it without having to join every FK
list there is in the World Wide Web to catch it. Now, I
know that our fandom is no where as huge as the x-files,
but I always feel that it is one of the most organized,
most united fandoms of all. No wonder we can have the
Wars, that is really something.

Oh. I always thought we see him get seduced with the long hair and then he
wakes up next morning with short? Believing this, I've always explained it
away by thinking he had vermin in it (nasty ol' saracen dungeon) and LC
*insisted* it be cut! "eg" Okay, maybe it doesn't seem likely they would cut
it the same night they brought him across, but that feeding we witness (the
chick laid out like a banquet on the table) *could* have been a night or 2
later. Or maybe they cut it sometime during the day....

Hey, it works for me! (except now Nancy has thrown a spanner in the works!

Oh, absolutely! The FK fandom is incredibly organized, and really in touch
with one another . . . I've got other interests as well, and whenever I look
for a discussion list or a fanfic list for a show, I can never find one like
this one. Anyways, that was my 2cents.
