It's reliable about never letting me in, because I'm almost always logging
in through a firewall and all of the servers require identd (which the
firewalls block). Also, a lot of the servers don't let you in even if
you're on their network (for example, home.com doesn't let me in even when
I'm logged through the Comcast cable modem, which uses @h....... for its ISP).

>May I suggest Undernet?

Undernet has its own problems...

I do remember some time ago, someone had set up a #foreverknight channel on
DALnet, and someone set one up on the Sci-Fi Channel's chat server (but I
don't remember the server name for that, and the last time I tried to log
in, I got error messages that consistently crashed my IRC client).

I haven't tried the DALnet channel in a couple of years, so I don't know if
it's still there or not.

I know STARFLEET used to have our channels on xWorld, but as I recall,
xWorld was having some stability problems, so we ended up setting up our
own chat servers.

Anyone got some more optimistic ideas??????

Things start to get really hairy when international borders are concerned...

I'm not sure about the status of titles under *international* IP laws, but
IIRC, you can't copyright a title, though you can *trademark* a brand. And
IIRC, a sports team's name is not considered a brand... (or at least, many
sports teams' names could not be considered brands).

OTOH, the sports team's NAME, written out in a specific typeface in a
specific set of colors, across a specific path, with or without a specific
nonverbal image or mascot, is often a copyrighted logo.

I wanted to let everyone know about the Ratpack/Greg Kramer Fan Klub chats
every Monday night at 8 p.m. Central Time in IRC, EFNET (for now, I'm
considering moving to undernet), in #ratjam

I'm normally there at least until 9 p.m. Central Time. Sometimes we only have
a few people (if any), and other times we get right chatty! hahahaha.

Anyone is invited as long as they realize netiquette WILL be enforced and NO
flaming allowed ;-)
