YKYBWTMFK when...
you are watching The Animal Planet cable channel, and there is a
commercial for some kind of 'Tournament of Champions' show/series-- they
show a couple of BIG bears and the announcer says "Dumpster Divers"... and
who do ya think of but our own FK Dumpster Diver par excellant: SCREED!!!
And now ya wonder: could our very own beloved rat-lovin' Dumpster Divin'
Champ o' the Century carouche-type o' vamp be one of the judges?!

Anyone wanting to do this can go to the forkni-l list on egroups. I created a
database just for this a while ago, but haven't really used it. There's a whole
whopping 2 people on it so far!!!

You need to be a member of the forkni-l egroup.
  http://www.egroups.com/subscribe/forkni-l

We're just making use of the egroups amenities... please keep discussions on
this, the regular list.

I could be wrong, but the last I knew the AirWolf carried on
TVLand was not the season that had GWD in it. The season that
GWD had a hand in is universally panned by the AirWolf
community (poor scripts and lack of money for effects are the real
complaints I've heard). What TVLand has been carrying is some of
the first 2 season episodes (and not even all of those).

Oh, and the DB that's up there is for members of the list only.

So that would take care of some security issues.

There's no place for phone or physical addresses - just names/screen name, your
location (general or specific, e.g., Chicago or N.Illinois), and chat/IM names,
and a couple other fun things.

Also thanks to Kylie I have an FK polo shirt. I was wearing it one Saturday
and the kid in the paint store remarked at how "That is a good show." I
gave him a business card that I carry around with the FK logo and the three
web site addresses for KtK, Mel's FK fanfic, and the SCIFI FK site.

I also just made up a car window transfer of the FK logo. You can find the
transfer stuff in an office supply store (thank you Susan G for letting me
know about it <waves>)

You are correct. When I first heard that Ger was in Airwolf (before I
received my first GWD fan club package) I started watching those episodes on
TVland in hopes of seeing him. I very quickly discovered how difficult it is
to struggle through a show on a regular basis when you don't like the lead
actor!!<shudder> It was with great relief that I got my package explaining
the difference between "Airwolves" <g> and I realized I could quit torturing
myself! :o)

We haven't done this in a LONG while and since Wolfy brought up a directory
(which I'd be for - but ONLY for people giving permission to list their names
and e-mail addresses), I thought I'd ask.

Keeping this on FK fan topic, where is everyone located? This list shouldn't be
posted elsewhere without the person's direct permission ;-D

I'm in Central Arkansas. Years ago on the Cross Stitchers of the Knight list, we
discovered there were about six of us in the area. One I already knew as she'd
been my friend for years.

Some funny facts about the discovery:
Annie, the Nunkmommy, is a distant cousin by marriage... and I don't mean just
the LaCroix type of Cousin! LOL! My grandmother and her discovered the link

Another fan lived just a few miles from me and we probably spoke at Bridging the
Knight, never realizing we were practically neighbors (we don't remember
speaking, but it seems as though I spoke to everyone there!)

Of the six, five of us have stayed in touch and are real life friends! The sixth
person sadly had some family issues concerning vampires so for her own peace of
household, lost touch.

There's also a few other fans in the area.

Any new folks to the list that are "neighborly"? Any o'er Ratpackers, o' h'iz
ol' Libs by 'er lonesome?

Last year I successfully bid on an FK crew vest at LCA2, and wore it to Niagara
Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake after the auction was over. I was browsing in the
Shaw Festival store in NOTL, and one of the clerks asked me if I had worked on
the show (don't I wish!). He commented that it was a shame they had cancelled
the show, but said it was too intelligent for the PTB so it was inevitable. <g>

Before you knew it there was a group of people discussing FK, and I was showing
off the autographs inside the vest (NB, Nick Gray, Kathryn Long, Jon Cassar,
Larry LaLonde). It was a very warm and fuzzy FK moment, believe me!

I'm in [xxxxxxxxxx], where there are quite a few FK fans. Several of us flew down
to Bridging the Knight.

Ok, even I came out of lurkdom to reply to this one.

I think that the ability to adjust depends on the person... er...
Vampire. I guess I'm one of those who picks up accents Very easily. I
spent a few days in Kentucky 2 years ago and when I came back home to
Illinois I had the Thickest drawl y'all had ever heard! <snicker> (No
offense to anyone with an accent! It was great fun for a while) But for
some reason, it took me 3 weeks to lose the accent and return to my
typical speech mannerisms. But it made for some interesting
conversations when I came home. <G>

I guess I'm ashamed to say it, but I pick up accents very easily, the
thicker they are, the faster I pick them up. I listen to someone for a
while and I start sounding like them. So, if I, a mere mortal, can
adapt (however unintentionally), I think it's safe to say that Fk vamps
could adapt even quicker. Especially with the knowledge available with
the first taste of the victim's blood. But could you imagine the
problems that could arise if the vamp accidentally grabbed a tourist?!

Channel 51 (southern Texas channel) has played it though recently, but we're
waiting for the 4th season. I'm not sure what TVLand is showing.

I would only be willing to be in it with name and e-address. Most of you
know where I live or am about to live as far as the city goes, but I'd just
as soon not have my home address any more specific than that.

Subject: Re: Adapting accents (was an Interesting bit of trivia)

At first I wondered, wouldn't the accents just adapt naturally? I was thinking
that as the language evolved, they would pick it up subconsiously through the
day to day. But then I realized how often the vamps have to travel from place
to place, which means they wouldn't necessarily be steeped in any one culture.

I do remember reading a story somewhere that had Vachon reading a newspaper,
either in French or Spanish, in order to keep up with the current slang and
usage. Thought that was very creative! Hmmm...I think the story had Nick and
Vachon going to Montreal looking for Janette. Uh-oh! I think I've read so many
fics that my brain has reached critical mass! I'm starting to have trouble
remembering what's what!! Whose story was that?? It was *good.*

I'm in [xxxxxxxxxx], Sweden, and I'm feeling awfully lonely in my part of

I guess I'll have to keep traveling to the US and Canada, eh? (Happy
