So I'm standing in the middle of a completely packed computer lab and
*somehow* got tracked down by one of the campus publication editors (not
the campus paper, it's more of an on campus blurb page that gets put
together for an international alum thing once or so a year). [Stay with
me, here...]
Anyway, this woman calls me and says "So I hear your Forever Knight Web
Page won this award." Huh? How did *she* find out? Someone tattled.
Alright, fess up, which one of you did it? Come on, I know it was one of
you, cause I *know* it wasn't me.
But just so you know, when I was being interviewed she asked me a bunch of
questions and I gave her the fundraising stats that were posted with the
last few digests, and made her *promise* to go visit the SOS FK Page so
that she'd understand about the Magnificent 7 and all of you wonderful
fans.
We'll see what happens. If anything like a real article comes out of it,
I'll let you guys know, okay.
Now I'm still waiting for that confession....fess up....(*tap**tap*tap*)

No, USA will not be showing the episodes (9 of them) that those of us with
syndication were/are able to see. They will be advertised as "original
episodes" on SFC. They get away with this because they were never shown on
SFC,therefore they are original to their channel.

I agree with Annmarie's cautious enthusiasm 100% -- and consider this to be
an open invitation. Let us bombard, blitz, overwhelm (okay, Dianne, I'll
put down the thesaurus) SciFi with gifts in our own unique, SOSFK way...
We have ourselves POTENTIAL ALLIES here. It's like... we may not have won
the battle, but we have discovered a wonderful potential avenue of winning

The very first spoilers I posted after several weeks of lurking
concerned Be My Valentine. The first piece of fanfic I posted to the
list concerned Be My Valentine. Yes. I saw Be My Valentine.
And in my opinion, there is far more sexual tension and electricity
between LC and Nat in that episode than there is in any and all
episodes between Nick and Nat.
Imo, what Nick says to LaCroix at the end of BMV about using Nat is the
truth. Nick thinks he's only fobbing LC off with an excuse, but LC
knows it's truer than Nick thinks from the bond between them and that's
why he leaves Nat alone.

Would new flyers with the SciFi Channel info and date of airing the FK eps be
in order? I have already destributed all the flyers I had for my local
syndie. Now, with a cable airing time more condusive to humaniod viewing this
kind of a cmpaign might really make an impact. Just a thought....

Now *this* is the first thing in regard to this whole disaster that I
find even remotely positive. Sorry, I'm not actually a pessimist, but I
was *not* encouraged by Annmarie's post.
The thought of them showing the last episode (no spoilers, I promise)
before airing the rest was making me furious. But just airing the eps
that USA has already shown isn't *as* bad. I know people who can only get
it on USA/SF won't like it, I just think that trying to hook new fans
into a show when they know that ending is a self-defeating idea.
Glad to hear they aren't doing that.
That does, however, translate into bad news for the aforementioned USA/SF
people: Which means the only way to get the post-"Fever" eps is through
other fans.
Alora...who is only feeling slightly better; and who is still unhappy
with the show going on SF instead of USA

Hi!
Does anyone in the D.C. area know if FK is still being shown on channel 50?
I live in Columbia so I can get it on channel 45, but it use to come on
earlier on 50. I haven't been able to find it listed for the last couple of
weeks on Saturday or Sunday.
BTW, any Vachon fans out there who have not checked out the Vachon loop, it
is very HOT! Try it.

Ok...you post confused me, but then I may have confused you.
The SciFi Channel will be airring the episodes that USA had backed out of.
They will be showing the 9 episodes that we will be seeing now in
syndication ie: "Francesca"
"Ashes" etc.
However, I do not see this as showing the "ending" as I do not believe that
we have seen the "end" of FK. I know what the rumors are (again, no
spoilers) but...I still don't believe its is the end.

Remember, though, no one was probably supposed to see this page. It and
it's folder were created on Feb 8. It kind of reminds of the initiative.
Someone at Sony seeing what was going on to save the show and the charity,
thought it might be a good idea to create a page for the Sony web site,
highlighting the impact that the show has had on fans, on the internet, for
charity. This person probably sat down, did a quick search on forever
knight, visited the SaveFK Web page, borrowed a few graphics and started
cobbling things together. The fact that it hasn't been worked on since Feb
8th, probably indicates that the person who was creating it, ran into a PTB,
who slammed the door shut. Either that or the person who was creating it,
started finding out the true state of affairs (i.e., Jasmine's unofficial
Web page, how the charity effort truly came about, etc.) that they abandoned
the effort.
The same probably goes for the VDML that they were going to try and set up
for the Raven. It would have been pretty tacky for them to have a picture
of Janette at the Raven, since she wasn't a third season cast member. So
that too was probably an abandoned effort. It sure seemed that someone at
Sony was a fan of the show and was trying to get something going, but got
squashed, silenced, or Sonyed.
So, remember the fk24.html is not an official Sony Web page, but someone's
mess that they left lying around.
Gee, you'd think that Sony would clean up after themselves better.

Then I misunderstood your second post. So they *will* be showing
post-"Fever" episodes, then?

Last week and this week, WBDC 50 has shown FK on Thursday night (really
Friday morning) at midnight. I will be calling them Monday morning to
check on next week's schedule, and I'll post it here.. Tomorrow night will
be the re-run of "Night in Question".
To clarify the time, if you're looking in a TV schedule, you'll find it
on Thursday, but if you want to tape it, tell your VCR it's Friday at
midnight.

Here's a little info on that mystery Sony webpage. It appears to be
from the 24 Hours in Cyberspace Project. I went to their webpage at the
suggestion of Glenn,a co-worker who teched a show that Rick Smolen, the
creator of the project, was a featured speaker. He told me that they
had a sample of the project and that the goal is a CD-ROM and book that
you would have to purchase. On visiting the site I found that they have
a rotating display that changes every Monday, FK is not currently
featured. Sony must have decided to use the Cyberspace article for
themselves, whether or not it was accurate (if they even cared). The
other articles I looked at seemed to be layed out in a similar fashion
to the FK one we have seen (IMHO!) So, if anyone wants to check it out
for themselves and tell me if I am full of hooey (or not)!:

I haven't done a top ten for a long time simply because other people showed
up and started doing them and they were better at it.
But simply in lieu of writing something inspiring, intelligent, and
thought-provoking this evening, I hereby present *insert kazoo fanfare*
The top 11 signs that you've been an FK fan way too long--
11. Sudden realization that you've stopped thinking of horrible things to
do to Nick in fan fiction and are now contemplating real life horrible
things to do to the people who killed the series (except for the Wicked
Tippi, who seems to be doing <quite> a bit of reality-warping just by
writing fiction, thank you very much).
10. Dark circles around eyes from lack of sleep because the local channel
only shows the series at 1:00 AM (alternative--from staying up much too late
reading FK-fic or enjoying the JADFE fiction).
9. Instigate argument at blood donation center when they won't take your
blood for the cause ("Honest--it's <supposed> to be that color.">).
8. Misdiagnosed carpal-tunnel turns out to be hand cramps from letter-writing.
7. Low bank account (but warm heart) from SOS-FK efforts and charity
donations.
6. Cringes at the sight of someone folding a piece of paper in half
("Crane? That's no crane--it looks more like a geritol-deficient egret to
me.").
5. Inability to distinguish between canon-series events, events in
fan-fiction, or wish-fulfillment ("Are you <sure> Nick and LaCroix don't
hold hands and skip merrily off into the sunrise accompanied by a large,
yellow rabbit?").
4. Tendency to jump when the term 'Uncle' is applied to anyone or anything
by an uninitiated bystander.
3. Obsessive habit of taping any episode of any series or television movie
that might have been filmed anywhere in the northern hemisphere because
Nigel's probably in it for at least three seconds (this is known as the
"Larimer actor-certainty principal," first postulated in response to the
observation that either Dean Stockwell or Dennis Hopper is in every movie
made from 1965 to 1973).
2. Blurry vision from too-frequent viewings of 12th generation Canadian
episodes ("Mommy, is Nick supposed to be <blue>?"). (*Hint* You know it's
twelfth generation if you can't tell whether you're watching "Only the
Lonely" or "For I Have Sinned" until the orange wall in Natalie's apartment
appears . . . and it's a sickly Caddie-colored green.)
1. You actually begin to <like> the taste of ribena and create alcoholic
and non-alcoholic beverages that contain it in the hopes of starting a
drinking sensation that will ensure that every bartender in the country
hears "I'll have a 'Forever Night'" at least once in his lifetime. (And
because it goes well with cranberry juice, right Jamie?)

channel. I figured that's why they were so hot to get in on the FK shows

I just got off the phone with Cousin Becky Burns and was told to post this to

Crescendo Records will be getting the soundtrack shipped to them next week.
When it is shipped they will begin sending the CD out to the people that have
ordered it through them.

Sorry to bother everyone with this. I found someone who knows how to make
the cranes, now where were we supposed to send them? I never saved the

Hey, Mel, don't forget those of us down here in WV. We get KDKA and WPGH
too. I used to have a choice of watching FK on KDKA at 1:05 a.m. or on WBOY
out of Clarksburg at 12:30. Then KDKA dropped it. And I only had WBOY.
When season 3 started they moved it back to 12:00. As for WPTT, when they
came back on the air our cable company refused to pick it up again so the
only time I could get to watch HL and KF was when I was at my friend's in
Point Marion.

Jokes about the way she almost threw herself at Nick aside, the woman
was a museum curator (a job Nick has held in the past) and knew a good
bit about archaeology (and Nick has been an archaeology professor too).
Her intelligence was downplayed in the episode some, but I don't think
that she was stupid. She had enough imagination to wonder if Nick was
somehow "different" when she came across a photo of him in a book taken
a hundred years before. She followed him and found out about vampires
and wanted to be brought across by him (although maybe that was partly
her glands talking). She certainly didn't run screaming into the night
and try to turn him (and LaCroix) in. And there *are* cases where Nick
has taken an instant attraction to someone (Emily Weiss in Stranger
Than Fiction is another example). Plus let's not forget that Nick is a
lonely guy.
I used her character in my story Vengeance Will Be Mine (available from
darkangel's fkfic web site, the ftp site, or from me if anyone is
interested). I think the actress who played Alyce might have done
better with the part, but I didn't consider Alyce a bimbo (but then I
don't consider Alexandra a bimbo barmaid either).

Don't know the answer to the above question, but in one of Jacqueline
Lichtenberg's books (Those of My Blood) the vampire survives on dried blood
so it is not a new idea. Her vamp reconsitutes it with water and warms it
in the microwave.

It will still be on Syndi until September (because they have contracts which
allow this). It's just moving from USA to SF. USA wasn't going to be showing
the last few shows anyway (the new ones which the Syndies will get in May
and some of the ones which have already been shown) because USA pulled their
funds prior to their filming. If they are included in the SF deal, then it
was from renegotiating.

I'm sure I'm not the only person on this list that thinks like this, but
isn't completely ironic and ridiculous that Sony the same people that said
"there was no market for Forever Knight merchandise" is now giving away FK
mugs to lure people to fill out the survey.
Also, about the SFC. Aren't we all still supposed to be writing letters to
USA Network asking them about running FK on USA instead of SFC? I know the
SFC has been curtious to people so far, but I have about a snowballs chance
in hell of ever getting SFC added to my cable lineup. I am going to be moving
to an area that does get the channel,but even then I am pretty sure I'm not
going to watch it.
I personally have nothing against the channel, but I do have a problem with
the way USA Network and SFC have treated us before they agreed to run FK. It
seems like all along they knew that they were going to strip away FK and put
it on their channels and the fact that they think it will make us happy when
they do start running Fk, is completely ridiculous.
It seems like this is their way of getting more cable companies to add the
channel to more cable systems. What do they do, they run FK which they know
has a built in audience that actively rallies behind the show, and add it to
their budding network. They know that more than half of us don't get the
channel, but they also know that we aren't the type of people to sit back and
do nothing. So, what they expect us to do is put all our activities into
pursueing our cable companies to add their channel. Of course everyone at SFC
is going to be curtious to people who call up and check on Fk, I mean if you
had people doing your job wouldn't you be?
These are my opinions, so don't e mail me and go "you think you know
everything!" because I don't and these are just my opinions about this whole
situation.

Uhhh... I think I have one. Besides the different variations of "Blood",
running around, you mean? I thought that *was* alcoholic. But here's my
entry:
Float some Ribena on top of dry champagne (or ginger ale, for the
nonalcoholic version--- I would recommend diet, for obvious reasons like
sugar content). A quickie way to get it to "float" would be to pour it
slowly over the back of a spoon on top of the champagne/ginger.
I have no idea if it would be too heavy or not. I have no Ribena in my
possession, and have never tried any. But if anyone does, they may want to
try this recipe. One thing:
