Too late! I've beaten you to the punch. I posted a story late last year
where Nick and Schanke (and Janette) were at Woodstock. I called it,
appropriately enough, "Woodstock". :-)

It was very short, and anyone who wants a copy can email me at

between Australia and North America might mean that there's a slight lag

Just want to clarify something. When I said Nick was honorable, that
doesn't mean he was a *saint*. Like other soldiers, he wasn't averse
to "partying" with women apparently. ;) However, I don't think he was
the type to consciously and deliberately set out to take a *lady's*
virginity.

Of course, that doesn't mean that if the "lady" was willing, he would
turn her down... ;) Nick's apparently had a weak spot for women since
before he became a vampire. ;)

Well, as I recall, Brianna looked and acted like a totally different
person when she met O'Neill for the second time. I got the impression
she was one of those like Richard who, irregardless of their past mortal
lives, become vastly different when they are brought across. Some part
of vampirism must have appealed to her. Or perhaps she had no idea what
it was that was being offered to her, and simply chose to live. There
are lots of plausible reasons, I'm sure, but those were the ones that
came to mind first.

Yes, I did see that show, and yes, I did mention her aversion to vampires in
my post. ;) However, I don't think that should stop us! If she's that easy
to impress (the two young women who wrote letters about Party of 5 got on the
show), then I say it's worth a shot. What's it gonna cost us? A .32 stamp
or a few seconds of email time. Certainly worth it.

Speaking of which, could someone send me the latest figures for the Pediatric
Aids Foundation donations? I need any info on the blood drive too or

we'll be able to bring her across too. ;)

Call me crazy but I say let the kids watch FK. ;) One of the first movies I
ever saw was Alien when I was 6. Scared the stuffing out of me. Gave me
nightmares non-stop for 4 years and I couldn't sleep in the dark till I was
12. On the plus side, however, I did turn into a horror fiction writer and
have made many a car payment with the checks I get paid. ;) Now, I wouldn't
recommend letting the kids watch Alien like I did. But I'd let my kids
(well, assuming I had any) watch the milder eps. Course, I'm a Cousin. What
do I know about safety and being nice?? Personally, I think Baywatch oughtta
come with a warning: CAUTION -- may induce blindness, vomiting, and a rapid
drop in IQ...

Meeeeow!

The morals kids can pick up whilst watching FK:

1. Don't play with your food. Something bad always happens when you play
with your food. (TG,FI,GVP for a few)
2. Don't disobey your Uncle. Something bad always happens when you disobey
Uncle.
3. Respect your elders. Especially your 2000 year-old elders.
4. Give a helping hand to those who need it. (A la Janette in AMPH)
5. Don't play with fire. Something bad always happens... well, you know the
rest.

Well if their hearts beat once every ten minutes, you'd think they'd have to
breathe at least once every ten minutes or all the blood in 'em will get all
stale and icky. I'm of the opinion they breathe a lot more than that however
-- you HAVE to breathe to talk. You speak by pushing air out. FK vampires
do a lot of talking, so I'm guessing they suck up a lot of oxygen. ;)

I am now convinced that vamp fangs are solid not hallow through discussion
of an alternate source. Following are the two reasons:

1) Anatomically, FK vampires go for the jugular vein rather than the carotid
artery, still there would be sufficient pressure with two small punture
holes in the wall of the vein to quickly drain a person

and, more importantly:

2) Hallow teeth would sacrifice a signifcant amount of strength. Have you
ever heard of a FK vampire breaking a fang during feeding?

This has been a question in my mind for a long time and I am now happy with
the answer. Thanks.

Seven of us stormed the National Association Of Television Programming

took out an ad in Electronic Media and had 10,000 plastic bags printed up to
hand out. The NATPE bag & ad fund is gathering money to pay back the costs,
which a single listmember 'fronted' for us. I believe we are still about $2000
short of covering all the costs. I'm sure Lana, who's handling financing, will

The thing to remember, in this case as in so many others, is that Forever
Knight is NOT about vampires.

It is a drama about one vampire's quest to REDEEM himself, by regaining his
humanity.

This is the truth; and it is also the slant that will maybe induce people
to take the show more seriously than if it were simply "that vampire cop
show".

'Nuff said.

Nick administered CPR to a murder suspect (actually, the murderer)
in the second season episode Undue Process, but didn't do it right

The guy died (but not due to the incorrect CPR; he was "poisoned").

I'm not sure what you mean by "Can vampires actually breath more than
they have to?" Several episodes where vampires have been shown
outdoors on cold nights show vampires breathing (but, of course, the
actors have to breathe :) ).

Katrinka

Houston is an eleven hour car trip from were I live, but I was insane,
and I went. I stoped once, and picked up my friend Jackie, who is a
Cousin.
The first thing we did when we got to the hotel, was to check in, and
then check out the dealers room. Not much fk, but some very nice pics,
Jackie got several of uncle. I got several, one very good one of Vachon,
and the seller told me the first thing to run out was her Vachon pics!!!!
Found a bunch of pros zines for only five dollars a peice. Jackie was in
her best uncle way trying to get me to get our stuff to the room, and I
made her wait. (hey, I love bargins!)
Revel con is a small con, but it was crawling with cousins. The Canadian
eps that I brought went down good when they where show in the vid room.
There was some very good art in the art room that centered around uncle,
and some prints that had forever natalie, forever shanke and forever
janette.
my all time lucky thing was when I won for only twenty-two dollars at an
auction, a show poster of martin shaw that was autograped. There were
others that wanted it, but didn't show because they knew It would got for
much more then that! Boy were they mad!
The costume contest had only one FK entry, a Vachon that was part of a
group that won an award. He was quite convincing. Yum, yum.
I met one man that said he knew the truth about the future of FK, that it
was renewed for two more years in synidcation. He was talking about a
five year deal thingie, and I very nicely told him, that he was confusing
FK with B5! arg!!!!
Put out flyers about the save fk and they where snatched up.
In all I had a really good time, and I'm probably insane enough to go
next year!

Subject: Parent Advisories & the First Two Seasons

I don't know about the third season (I've only been able to catch a few
of episodes since I moved), but I used to think of FK as the only show I
would let my kid watch. (That would be if I had any kids.)

The first time I saw FK I was surfing. I~d just skipped from Law and
Order to FK, and I found FK kind of refreshing. In Law and Order where
everyone and thing was jaded: the cops swore all the time... you saw
people getting beat-up shoot in graphic detail blood on the walls...
details of autopsies with police and doctors that seem to have no
respect for the dead person...

I tuned into FK thinking it was just another cop show, except the police
did not swear, seemed to be interested on justice and there was little
blood and gore. It was all implied like Alfred Hitchcock movies. There
probably was no blood and gore because FK did not have a large special
effect budget, but I found it refreshing anyway. It used to make my
laugh that one of the least bloody shows on TV was about vampires.

Don~t get me wrong I~ve seen liked almost every horror movie from the
Old Vincent Price stuff to ~Nightmare on Elm Street~. And I like what
I~ve seen of the third season, where FK seems to have a larger special
effect budget. But after all the blood and gore there was something
refreshing about the first two seasons of FK~s bloodlessness and and
very black and white version of good and evil.

My point was, though, that the Rottweiler breed had nearly died out in the
early 1800's...so that even 80 years later, if I owned one, I'd sure keep my
eyes on it.

And from what I remember (and having owned a "runt of the litter" before),
Raleigh didn't LOOK like he'd started like at a disadvantage.

And as for the person who suggested that the Hound of the Baskervilles was a
Rottie...actually, I think it more closely resembled a Great Dane, from the
description in the story.

Yeah me too. I never open a book, I never do my homework. When I'm
supposed to be writing papers, I'm writing FK fiction. I don't do anything
when I get home except taking naps and emptying my mailbox. Of course, that
all has to change, since I graduate in May. Yikes!

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Reuter) - Health officials in a small
Missouri city said Friday they were looking into reports of a
game in which players pretend to be vampires and suck each
other's blood.
Health workers in Greene County, Missouri, said the game
began as a harmless role-playing activity by adults that did not
involve any blood-sucking.
``Some younger kids got involved and took it a step further
and have actually been sticking themselves with pins and sucking
each other's blood,'' said Kevin Gipson, health planner for the
Springfield/Greene County Health Department.
Gipson said he knew of at least one case where blood was
obtained through a bite.
The department said it learned of the game from participants
who worried about their health. HIV, the virus that causes AIDS,
and hepatitis are just a few serious pathogens to which players
expose themselves, Gipson said.
Gipson said recent movies and novels by Anne Rice had
contributed to the popularity of vampirism.

You didn't miss much. Nigel was only on for 5 minutes. He, of course, was
the best thing in the whole program. The rest of it stunk. Can you picture
Morgan Fairchild as a starbase commander? I couldn't.

Books? Homework? Papers? Wow! Is *that* what I am supposed to be doing
here? Here I thought I paid tuition to get "free" internet access and
e-mail account.

I came to college for an education (and a degree might be nice, too) and
I become an expert on FK...well, I guess that qualifies as an education.
After all look what I've learned: TPTB are ruthless, cold-blooded,
back-stabbing, blatant liars, and deluded enough to think that we will go
away....and then I've learned some *really* important stuff, like
the fact that there is a place in Toronto called the "Vampire Sex
Bar"--priorities, you know.

Sorry, Dotti R. gave me this idea (you HAD to mention the Animaniacs Dracula
bit, didn't you? :)= ).

And someone was probably gonna do it sometime anyway...

Let's see. Of course, we have the trio of Warners. In FK... hey, we have a
trio of vampyres!

LaCroix: Yakko
Nick: Wakko
Janette: Dot
(I can actually see this)

The alternate to this would be Goodfeathers...

LaCroix: Bobby
Uhhhh... This is kind of tricky. Nick is pretty Squit-ish, but I can't seem
to see Janette as Pesto...

Nat: Slappy <ducking from NatPacker fire> Hey, I LIKE Slappy...

Vachon: Buttons, but only because...
Tracy: Mindy

Urs: Katie Ka-Boom. Nice, sweet, innocent, but when she gets mad...

Reese: Dr. Scratchnsniff

Screed: Rita, maybe Runt on occasion.

It just occured to me that there are Nick&Natpackers, Immortal Beloveds,
Valentines, and someone even suggested a Les Miserables couple-faction
for Nick and Urs, but... nothing for Tracy and Vachon? Is that because
they are actually together -- sort of? Is it because Tracy inspires so
little identification? Is it because all the Vaqueras want to have Vachon
to themselves? :) Is there no one out there who actually wants Tracy and
Vachon together and is able to say so in a clever faction name? :)

Hey, the 60's weren't that bad! I started college in the late 60's. :-) Can't
you just imagine Nick with flowers in his hair, dancing barefoot in the park
in the moonlight?

However, he probably wasn't, darn it. It makes a nice mental picture anyway.
:-) We've seen him as the college student-type (1966); as a rookie cop in
Chicago somewhere in the 60's (did anybody ever date that Mustang parked in
the alley?); and as a off-duty cop working security at a political
convention. Any others? I remember somebody commenting that the 60's were
getting really crowded with flashbacks.

And LaCroix in a Nehru jacket spouting "the Age of Aquarius, indeed" was one
of the FK moments I'll never forget. :-)

No comment on the 70's. College, marriage, divorce, and major surgery are all
I remember.

Both males became vampirized in the only acceptable (for a North
American male) way possible: while they were dropping their trousers. A
'hero' cannot retain his macho image if he were vampirized (victimized) by
force but if it was while he was carnally distracted then it is acceptable.
And he can agonize over it as well and have someone else to blame.
