Nick's place in the 60s (2) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 20 Jun 2017 05:14:58 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: Re: Nick's place in the 60s I've had a close look at the screencap of Nick's old New York driver's licence that NAT has on the KnightWatchman site: http://www.wiliqueen.com/knightwatchman/fkseason2/closecall/ccall_099.jpg It's really interesting to be able to see exactly what it says. For instance, it gives his date of birth as 10 13 23 (i.e. 13 October 1923). As Nick presumably was using it *before* it expired in 1963, that means that he was passing as a man in his late thirties at the time. Anyway, I've made another wiki page, this time for Greenwich Village (http://foreverknight.wikia.com/wiki/Greenwich_Village). We have quite a few pages in the "Historical Background" category now! Not to mention, 6' 3"... that *must* have been a bit of glamour, since that sounds closer to Nigel's height than to Ger's. Or maybe they didn't expect a policeman, state trooper, or bar bouncer to look closely at anything other than the birthdate. (IIRC, in the late seventies, they weren't looking at much more than that you HAD a license... then again, legal drinking age was 18, and if you wanted a DRY party, you had to set a number of parents and neighbors on watch/bouncer patrol, because there was always SOMONE with a twentysomething brother who'd bring in cases of beer and Yago Sangria...) (BTW, I'm wasn't, and still am not, anti-alcohol -- I just was a teen who'd seen too many of her peers getting drunk, even to the point of getting sick, at parties. I'm also not anti kids drinking -- I just think it needs to be done under parental supervision, with the kids understanding that once they feel a buzz or a disorientation, it's hands off for the rest of the night. And kids should be able to handle alcohol BEFORE they're allowed to operate motor vehicles.) >Anyway, I've made another wiki page, this time for Greenwich Village >(http://foreverknight.wikia.com/wiki/Greenwich_Village).
