Subject: Author pages in the FK Wiki

I thought I'd let people know that I've recently completed (more or less)
making wiki articles for authors of Forever Knight fan fiction. It's a
project that was started by Susan Garrett; and I've been adding to it off
and on for the last three years.

I hope that this will help people locate stories, at least if you know the
name of the author. The link is here:
http://foreverknight.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Authors

Obviously there have got to be fan writers I've missed. *Who* is another
matter! If I knew, then I'd make a page for them. :) Still, at this
point, I've got over a thousand names, sourced from all the FK archives,
Fanfiction.net, AO3, and any multi-fandom archive listed on AO3. Plus some
personal archives.

A caveat! A lot of authors have used a pseudonym at one time or another,
and some have used several. So there's a risk that, in a few instances,
I've got people double-listed since I don't know that Real Name = Pseud 1 =
Pseud 2, or the like. However, whenever I do know that someone has written
under different names, I've done a "redirect" so the search engine will find
the article we have on them.

Please note that having these author pages does *not* mean that we have
pages for all their stories. (Yet.) However, I've tried to at least *list*
all their stories on the page about the author, as well as providing links.
That's *if* links exist, of course, since some early stories were only in
printed fanzines; also some that used to be on the Net have been taken down.

If you spot any errors or omissions, do please e-mail me.

For clarity, the pages Greer refers to are merely an entry on the story much
like any wiki page at Wikipedia. We’re not archiving stories themselves. We're
attempting to catalog the titles and subjects of stories to make them more
accessible to the fan base to ensure the fandom thrives. We understand,
however, that many of us joined the fandom in our very early years, wrote
stories, and then went on to professional careers or even simply different
lives. For that reason, we were the first wiki at Wikia to insist on an author
privacy policy for information we store. You can read it here:

http://foreverknight.wikia.com/wiki/Forever_Knight_Wiki:Policy/Privacy

This policy became the model for fandoms throughout Wikia. We felt it important
to allow authors to account for youthful choices they might prefer to leave
more private. If you find your name in the list of authors and would prefer to
have it obfuscated as a "Name Withheld" entry, we can definitely do that. Just
contact either me or Greer privately and we'll take care of everything.

I've always wondered if Vanessa St Denis is still out there. I loved
her stories, and every email connected to them is out-of-date.

Hey, Vanessa! Can you hear me now?
