Hello All! I have a favor to ask and if you find yourself interested please contact me *directly* at kiltedswinebbq@g....... *rather than through this list* to avoid unnecessary clutter and a time-out in ye old kitty-cat cloak-room for yours truly. It's really dark in there and things go purr in the night ... I have a multi-story fiction series that has book one essentially complete and posted on Wattpad. I'm not stumping for votes or any other nuances to benefit myself directly, but rather a cold-read or beta-read critique to help polish or fix issues that have escaped my umpteen quadrillion re-readings. What is a cold-read? Simply put, this type of critique comes from a reader that knows little or nothing about the story, other than it is set in the Weird Wild West in the mid 1800's, is mature in content and involves paranormal creatures which can include, but are not limited to: vampires, werewolves, witches and others. They answer simple questions such as: did it make sense, were the characters clear enough to be believable as you read, where there glaring plot problems or other issues, which side did you root for -- Cowboys or Indians and what did you think of it, good, bad or indifferent. Favorite sandwich meats or what kind of car you drive and does it have a big trunk will not be asked, although I imagine the answers would be intriguing no doubt... I will readily admit a couple of the characters involved were loosely based upon a couple of my favorite FK characters in appearance but are hopefully their own characters more-so than direct clones or direct copies from FK canon. I have gone to great lengths during the story to show how and where they differ where I felt it appropriate and/or required for plot reasons. I kinda doubt any lawyers will be sharping pitchforks but who knows. If you prefer to have the odious work of using a red pencil, that would be what a beta-reader would do which can be more of a challenge but is often what super heroes are made of for any writer. Wattpad may make you sign up to become a member to read a story but it is otherwise free and there are no real catches that I know of other than perhaps getting addicted to other great fiction and fan-fiction that resides there. You can, and I do encourage you to vote for any of the writer's stories that you find and enjoy as you delve into their wonderful content. If your simply interested in learning more about Wattpad, please visit: http://www.wattpad.com/ If you are still reading this and haven't hit delete yet, frowned at McLisa asking what she was thinking for giving her permission, find Western or Weird Western fiction to be intriguing and am curious to be the second mouse (the first got the trap so the cheese is yours) and peruse my story, you can find it under sellersjr in the Wattpad search (Blood-Lines is the story) or at: https://www.wattpad.com/story/44466377-blood-lines/parts If you don't find Western or even Weird Western fiction to be your cup of tea, no worries -- I find that a lot; but I do appreciate your time and effort having read this far. There are other great reading opportunities to be found at Wattpad that I am sure that you will enjoy and I encourage you to explore and/or make your own if you so choose. Now we return you to your locally aired re-run of the all day and night Forever Knight marathon already in progress on the CERK Entertainment Network. To catch you up on what you missed while reading this, Nat did not get turned, Schanke tricked Vachon into eating souvelaki ... again and Nick is still searching for his humanity just to vex LaCroix. *Thanks!* *Bob Sellers* *Chief Cook -- Pit Master **-- KCBS Certified Judge* *KCBS: Kilted Swine BBQ* *twitter: @sellersjr* *http://kiltedswinebbq.com <http://kiltedswinebbq.com/>* *Anyone can put the heat to meat but few can bar-b-cue...* ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 Jul 2015 16:58:05 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: Restorable Vaq/Urchin/Dark Hearts site? In browsing old links, I've come across a site called "Forever.Vachon.Net" (http://forever.vachon.net). It seems to be partly a site for Kristin Lehman, and partly a Dark Hearts site. Although one or two things are missing, most of it is there; and I think it's probably restorable. Should I go ahead?
