The rule that four lines can be quoted per point commented on is still
in force. Above all, please do _NOT_ attach the previous post. If
you're on a cell which won't let you not attach it, please say so. I
haven't had to nopost anyone in years, and certainly won't do so
without a warning and trying to work the matter out. However, if I
have to enforce the rule, I will.

To the list in general, thanks for being a wonderful comunity.

Hah! I see you subscribe to the theory that one man can alter history.
Well, I'm not so sure about Cromwell: he was a brilliant general, of
course, but not the only one on the Parliamentarian side; and there were
certainly a lot of reasons to dislike King Charles. Not that history would
have been the *same* if Cromwell had been taken out. Still, it's a bit like
saying that, if LaCroix had snacked on General Washington, there wouldn't
have been an American Revolution.

On the other hand, the potential influence of vampiric action (or inaction)
on history *does* come up in other episodes in Forever Knight. Perhaps it
resonates most in "Jane Doe". While a vampire Hitler is an appalling
thought, the idea that Nick and LaCroix met him as the Great War ended does
raise the *other* possibility: what if they'd had *him* for a snack?

I mean, we know that LaCroix didn't bring Hitler across because his evil was
too great even for LaCroix to stomach; but ... what if he'd *killed* him,
instead of simply leaving him mortal? Or what if Nick had decided Hitler
was best removed from the world?

In FK, the screenwriters always steered the outcome of the flashback to fit
history. Still, you can't help but see that AU possibilities abound.
