Discussing "Dance by the Light of the Moon" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 1 Sep 2013 16:27:08 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: Re: Discussing "Dance by the Light of the Moon" On Thu, 29 Aug 2013, James asked: > The one part I was never sure of is when Schanke knew Nick > was playing along. I know what you mean. Did Nick let Schanke in on it *before* they both went to the warehouse or not? Or did he chance that Schanke would figure it out and play along? After all, Nick was only pretending to strangle Schanke. If he hasn't previously clued him in, he's taking a big risk that Schanke wouldn't react right--and I don't see how he could know that his new (let us not forget, *new*!) partner is that quick off the mark, or that good an actor. I think Nick pretty well has to have worked out the routine with Schanke ahead of time. Maybe even rehearsed it with him. When one first sees the episode, of course, events come as a surprise; so *we* are taken in, as well as Ann. But I don't see how Nick could have dared not to let Schanke know ahead of time.
