I think that's been changing. In the 1970s, Toronto was often used as a stand-in for New York. (That said, it's been long enough since I've seen _Police Surgeon_ that I don't remember whether it was mentioned WHERE the series was set.) Contemporary to FK, many of us were fans of _Highlander: The Series_, which was filmed in the Vancouver area and pretty obviously Canada, though the true location was ambiguous (often mentioned as "Seacouver" in fanfic, a portmanteau of "Seattle" and "Vancouver"). Modernly, _Lost Girl_ and _Continuum_ are definitely set in Canada, produced by Showcase, and available on SyFy in the US (as well as in other countries). I suspect the old saw about there being only 46 Canadian actors (including those who, like William Shatner, migrated to the US for career opportunities) has been long debunked. Brenda F. Especially, since I recall having blood drives at Canadian conventions featuring FK back in the hay-day of the 90s Cindy Most people have minds like concrete: mixed up or permanently set. ------------------------------ End of FORKNI-L Digest - 8 Jun 2013 to 9 Jun 2013 (#2013-80) ************************************************************
