Sounds like fun!

I watched it when it first came on (apparently) 1992,
as part of CBS's "Crimetime after Primetime". There
were a number of other shows at the same time; one of
which was "Silk Stalkings".

FK was by far the best. But, they were all done in
by Letterman starting the Late Show.

Yes. Each player must contribute a never-before-posted-anywhere FK
story of at least 1,000 words (or, actually, picture; visual artists
are also invited!).

FKFicFest is an exchange ficathon game. Each player puts in three
story requests ("prompts") and receives in return three story
requests put in by another player (I do my best to match players'
likes and dislikes); each player then picks one of the three story
requests received and writes a new story to fulfill it. Each summer,
FKFicFest celebrates FK with exciting new mysteries, new romances,
and new adventures!

Sign-ups are still open until 11:59PM Friday night on Dreamwidth
(http://fkficfest.dreamwidth.org/) or on LiveJournal
(http://fkficfest.livejournal.com/). You can read the gameplay rules
in the "2013 Rules and Sign-Ups" post. Matches/assignments go out no
later than Monday. Stories come due and begin posting at the end of July.

All FK fans are invited to write, to beta, to read! Come play! And
yes: you can count on enjoying stories newly written for this year's game!

Great! Thanks for the awesome response! So which day works for
everybody?
How's Saturdays? Would starting on May 25th work for everyone?

Can't do Saturdays. Sorry. That's Lois and Clark viewing night.

Will we start at the first show? Sounds like a good place to start, I
haven't seen one in years and i never saw it from start to finish.

Why not instead of "everyone watch on this day," we have "everyone watch this
episode this week, then we'll talk about it starting (insert date - Saturday)?

Not sure I'm quite ready to watch season 3 yet. Still missing Greg "Screed"
Kramer a lot. But maybe by the time we get to that season....

I'd love to join in but I can't until I get back to my house in Fla where
my FK tapes are. And that won't be until June 16. I can join in at that
date.
The time of year for graduations and communions for the grandkids in NY.
My person is requested to be present for these family events.

In the meantime I will again remind anyone on the list going to Disney for
vacation to email me and let me know when. Free ride in "The Caddy" for
those who would like to visit her{car now named Nicky}.

I think it's a great idea to do this! I'm another who wasn't on line back
when the show was first on. There was still *some* discussion of episodes
when I joined, but not the sort of thing that you're suggesting. We had a
full go-through about...was it three years ago? Or four? (Time flies!)
However, only a handful of people took part.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "discuss [the episodes] like it's
1992", though. I mean, we all *now* know how the series ended, and the
backstory for LaCroix and Janette. There's a lot that wasn't in the pilot!
Things did change, even over the first season. (Which in itself is a point
to discuss.) New perspectives....

I agree with you: there's always more to say.

I wonder if this can maybe be combined with something else. There's a lot
that still needs to be added to the wiki. Perhaps most obviously, we need
to write proper episode summaries. At the moment, most of the articles on
the individual episodes only have brief "TV Guide" style synopses. I'd also
like to get more detail into the articles about the guest characters,
locations, props, and the like. Rewatching the shows will get me to take
notes--and maybe (says she hopefully), other people might lend a hand. For
all the size of our wiki, there's a lot that's still undone.

So...shall we start at the beginning, with "Dark Knight"? Or do people have
other preferences?

If we can figure out when... say Friday night? We could even meet and have
a live chat, too. They've been doing it in Lois and Clark for
years---every Saturday night, they meet at a certain time in the #lanekent
IRC channel and watch an episode together. ;) Pretty funny commentary
sometimes!

Laura (who would not mind opening up a chat to do this)
