Subject: Like it's 1992..?

Since there are so many active users who weren't there in 1992, I was
wondering: would anyone be down for watching the episodes together at
the same time more or less? And then discuss them like it's 1992?

We could have a consensus as to which night of the week to start and
which episode/season to start with. I'd prefer S1 E01 but open to
suggestions. If anyone wants to start S3, I'm cool and S2 works for me
as well. We could make the week's episode discussion say starting on
Saturdays that way everyone can watch whenever they can fit it in
their schedule (Sun-Fri at leisure) and then join the discussion on
Sats. (or whichever day is picked). I reckon this might be too big a
project for some but perhaps those who can't would enjoy reading
perspective from fresh blood? And they might even find stuff to add
even if they aren't able to watch it as we are. I know may not have
something to contribute each episode but I surely would love to read
what you all have to share.

If that's too overwhelming a task, and FK should never be a chore for
anyone, we could even have an informal poll to call out a dozen or so
episodes that people really, really want to discuss and then watch
this random dozen and then see how it goes if we want to pursue or
not. Myself, I'm not really fond of discussing episode continuity or
plot holes but that's fine if that's what some people need to talk
about. I'm sure we could have fresh stuff to contribute, and if not
fresh, then new perspectives perhaps and different angles.
Incidentally, there is one episode that I have only watched once, and
that's because it's the last season I acquired on DVD. I assumed it
was in my VHS and that I had seen it back in 2002. Imagine my surprise
when I played this one not so long ago! I was beside myself with joy
and astonishment alike.

So, anyone game?

I'd love to. I *was* watching in 1992, but I didn't have an internet
connection until 1998!

Oh a fan from Germany?? Very cool, Danke for reply!!! Awesome about
Germans getting a bit more Schanke with his voice there. What would it
take to get Germany to release it? Is it up to TPTB in Germany or Sony
or both?

Too bad we don't have deleted scenes! Not to hijack my own thread but,
at this point, I wonder what it would take to dig them up? Not
dailies, I'm here talking about actual scenes themselves that "met the
cutting room floor". I've heard of about 3. One is a sword fight, I
believe from my very favorite S3 episode, Dead of Night, saw that on
You tube. I can't recall what the other 2 were but I've probably seen
them too (I'm dealing with a bit of CRS syndrome these days). I'm
sure, though, there must be more out there. Are they presumed lost
forever or would they be at Sony's or perhaps the film cutter...? Is
it possible that there were really only actually 3 and I'm just
wishful thinking here?

There hasn't been any announcements yet. I'm afraid they forgot that
they ever intended to release season 3.

>Does anyone know if the German version for S3 has scenes we don't have
in our Region 1 DVDs? <

Not a scene, but there actually is additional dialogue in "Black
Buddha Part 1". This was a whim of the people who made the dubbing,
it's not in the original script. John Kapelos wasn't around for season
3, but apparently his "German voice" was. In consequence, we hear
Schanke talking back on the phone at the beginning of the episode. A
very nice nod in my opinion.

Petra.

Thanks to the generous support of members from this list, I was able
to make my initial goal of $500.

I have less than three weeks left and I'm upping the ante. I'm trying
to get to at least $750 by June 2nd.

Ideally, I'd like to raise over $1000, but I realize this may be
difficult. (I set my initial goal at $1000 last year and didn't even
make $500.)

I support the American Diabetes Association because in addition to
their support of scientific research into the causes of, therapies
for, and (hopefully) cures for _all types_ of diabetes, they are also
active in community outreach, with programs tailored to high-risk and
low-income communities. While these are not the people I communicate
with on a regular basis within the diabetes online community, they
are the people who live near me, and who may live near you as well.

Once again, I am asking for your help in my, and the ADA's, fight
against diabetes.

I could try doing this, no promises. I have thought about watching some of the
shows recently.

I'm game. Something creative to do until BBC Sherlock starts again.
