That way the dragon won't feel left out or beg for its own separate faction. ----- Original Message ----- I think I'm inclined to back off from "Firelighters" and go for "Old Flames". It's got the pun. Also it applies equally to the fireplace (if lit) *and* to the dragon. And it's cute. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2012 07:09:52 -0700 From: Naia Zifu <tenou_haruka3@y.......> Subject: Re: A faction for duck-lamp lovers Quackers is cute. Have I voted on this yet? I forget. If not, I'm going for that one. ----- Original Message ----- I'm going to simplify these and combine them as Quackers: seconded by Automaton11 (on LJ) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2012 07:11:51 -0700 From: Naia Zifu <tenou_haruka3@y.......> Subject: Re: A faction for fireplace fans That is awfully cute, but also conjures up images of actual hearth bleeding, which may not be a good idea (except at Hallowe'en). ----- Original Message ----- (but then Andrew's "Hearths of Gold" prompted me to think of "Bleeding Hearths", which, all things considered, may be too cute.) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2012 07:18:22 -0700 From: Naia Zifu <tenou_haruka3@y.......> Subject: Re: Vachon's guitar Gibson Girls, but that assumes everyone in the faction is female. . . although every Vaq I know is female, so it may not be that far off. . . Would be easier if it was a Fender, LOL. . . or if guitar was an interesting word in Spanish. . . Lemme think on this one and get back to you. ----- Original Message ----- From what I understand Javier Vachon's guitar is a Gibson. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2012 20:24:39 -0700 From: Liz the Lucky <lizthelucky@c.......> Subject: Fw: Vachon's guitar Didn't check the TO: line. {blush} >> Gibson Girls, but that assumes everyone in the faction is female. . . > > Gibson the artist drew men as well as women. (Without boring anyone with personal stuff, my brain condition is such that what seems evident to someone at first read might go over my head no matter how many times I read it.) I read an email I received about FKFIC-L which I've just opened and gone over and over but I still can't find the info I'm looking for so I'm going by memory here, please bear with me and sorry if I write anything dumb. I think I read somewhere that only 300 lines of text are allowed? Now I don't have a way to count lines atm, so I was wondering if it were acceptable if I sent a story in several parts? At least 2. Or would it bounce out if it were 350-400 lines? Also I'm not sure even if I were able to get my program that counts lines to work & figure it, whether they would equal the same length of lines in this little list sever box? So basically are two/three-parters acceptable or frustrating and against the rules? Finally, if I understood that well, it's not ok to discuss nor mention anyone's fiction writings neither at the FKFIC-L nor at the FORKNI-L, correct? Again my apologies and thanks in advance for your clarifications. Confused Otto. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Sep 2012 02:04:09 -0400 From: Don Fasig <argent@c.......> Subject: Re: Questions about FKFIC-L etiquette On 14 Sep 2012 at 1:18, Otto Maton wrote: > I think I read somewhere that only 300 lines of text are allowed? Sending a story in parts is the way to do it. You can send up to 3 posts a day to FKFIC-L. > little list sever box? That should work fine. > Finally, if I understood that well, it's not ok to discuss nor mention > anyone's fiction writings neither at the FKFIC-L nor at the FORKNI-L, correct? No discussion on FKFIC-L - only stories there. However, discussing stories, or anything FK related, is fine on FORKNI-L. Have fun! I do hope they get back to me fairly soon! I'd kind of like to get them finished and posted. Unless people speak up, I don't think I'll continue work on icons for Janette's portrait or LaCroix's bust. On the whole, interest seems slight. Of course, if you *do* want them...!
