I've just posted another dozen of the designs for the faction icons at the
larger 350px size.

You can find them here: http://greerwatson.livejournal.com/19799.html

Subject: Query about Ashes to Ashes

I've been working on an icon for the Disciples of Divia. (Tricky, because I
don't know how it really differs from the Diviants, in terms of its approach
to the character.)

Anyway, I decided to include a picture of a sickle, referencing the one with
which LaCroix beheads Divia in the flashback, which she then brings out in
the climactic scene intending to use on him. You can see a picture of it
here: http://foreverknight.wikia.com/wiki/File:Tn_ashes_625crop.jpg

Here's the question: in this shot, the sickle has a distinctly reddish hue.
There's a later shot in which it gleams very blue; but that's clearly
because of bright blue lighting. In this picture, the sickle does not seem
to be strongly lit. So...is it supposed to be made of copper, or a copper
alloy?

This is important because I can't crop out the sickle from the screencap:
too much of it is off screen or covered up by Divia's hands; and that means
I can't just patch over the missing bits. So I'm going to have to use a
picture I find on the web. Mostly, these are of steel or iron sickles; so I
need to know if I have to modify the colouring.

I think the reddish hue is rust on an iron blade.
Iron is a harder metal than copper and will hold a cutting edge better.
I'm guessing that the props-department thought a 2000 year + old iron tool
that doesn't have rust on it would look "odd". If the blade looked
brand-new...you might not realize that it was the sickle that LaCroix had
used on Divia.

Subject: updates to ftp site

If anyone wants to know, I have gone back to the beginning of 2006 and
uploaded stories I haven't gotten around to upload. If you don't see
what you expect to be there it may be due to the fact that some authors
do not give me permission to post them. (yes I am a pack rat. I had to
go back 2 computers ago.)

How about a link to the site?
