If you don't get it, would you please check your spam filter? They can get a bit overzealous. :) Greer gwatson2@r....... http://www.foreverknight.org/FK4/ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 19 Aug 2012 18:13:42 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: Factioneering Challenge (was "Thanks and a Reminder") I appreciate all the thanks people have been sending. This has been a labour of love--and, if I seem to be stretching it out a bit by asking if there are factions still to go, well, it's at least partly because I hate coming to the end! :) As for that humungously long list of couple factions: it was posted so that people could check and see if there was anything I'd missed. I'd hate to say that all was done, and then have someone splutter, "But, but, but...you haven't done *my* little faction yet!" Also, I'm aware that--at least for the smaller factions--there was a bit of hit or miss in terms of what got made and what got overlooked. One enthusiast could carry people along, at least for a while. As a result, some couple factions were named (and have been "iconed") when, in reality, very few stories were ever written for them. Which means, of course, that even the *tiniest* couple faction can be validly named! In other words, the *real* point of my post came right at the end. > Just off the top of my head, I can see the following logical pairs that we > *don't* have yet: Nick/Screed, Janette/Schanke, Janette/Screed, > Janette/Miklos, and Miklos/Urs. Also the trio of Nick/LaCroix/Vachon (for > which I know there are stories). Consider this a Challenge. Not a story challenge, but a factioneering challenge. Do any of these have names? (Should have names? Could have names?) However, you can scratch Janette/Schanke off the list. I've just done them an icon as the "Unattainables". And, as those on FKFIC-L know, I've also backed that up with a story! (What do you mean, you aren't on the fic list? Whyever not? Go thou and join!) Anyway, if you missed the story, you can find it on my website: http://www.foreverknight.org/FK4/Unattainable.htm Greer gwatson2@r....... http://www.foreverknight.org/FK4/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Aug 2012 08:29:10 -0700 From: Naia Zifu <tenou_haruka3@y.......> Subject: Re: Thanks and a Reminder Was it really? For as long as I can remember on the internet there have been factions for everything, but I've only been here since '97, so I guess I missed the beginning of it. How did the fans of all the other shows end up jumping on the bandwagon? ----- Original Message ----- Let's take another moment and add a reminder for all of us. *Forever Knight *was the first ever television series that had factions. After FK, the deluge. ------------------------------ End of FORKNI-L Digest - 19 Aug 2012 to 20 Aug 2012 (#2012-153) ***************************************************************
