(was Purple Thongs) I would be curious to see it. Is the thong part just a bare mention, or a major recurring thing? ----- Original Message ----- I have a lot of Tippi Blevins' stories, including the Eternal Champion ones. I was a compulsive archiver during the list heyday of the stories I really liked. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Jul 2012 06:40:19 -0700 From: Naia Zifu <tenou_haruka3@y.......> Subject: Re: Faction icons I wish the library didn't filter your site. I would like to see the icons and such I keep hearing about. *pokes library compies* ----- Original Message ----- I've just posted another dozen of the icon designs in the larger 350px size. Half of them are for established factions, and half for new ones. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Jul 2012 19:09:48 -0700 From: Andrew Caruthers <slinter@j.......> Subject: Re: Purple thongs On Fri, 6 Jul 2012 15:58:38 -0400 Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> writes: > On Thu, 5 Jul 2012, Laurie of the Isles wrote: > >>By the way, Wikipedia has a picture of a subligaculum: > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Romanbikini.gif [cut] > > I wonder if that picture is accurate. No, *not* with a purple thong! (Not yet. I'm working on it.) However, there have been other factions/subfactions mentioned recently; and I figure I should get their icons posted while they're still vaguely in people's minds. So here are the icons for the B.R.I.C.K. and the Crew. Also, having run it past Brenda, I'm posting the icon for the Unholy Alliance, along with a larger version of the symbol I devised. And--at long, long last!!--you finally get to see an icon for the FoSiLs. After all, the Woof Pack icon's been up for several weeks. It's been quite unfair of me to leave poor old Sydney out in the cold for so long. (Not that we've been seeing much cold in Toronto recently. More of a heat wave here, actually.) Yes, there are more icons waiting in the wings, and yet more in the works. In the mean time, you can find these four here: http://greerwatson.livejournal.com/16143.html Greer gwatson2@r....... http://www.foreverknight.org/FK4/ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2012 16:06:47 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: Thong Throng faction icon So...when I was doing icons for subfactions of the Cousins, I started one for the Thong Throng. Now, it looks very much as though it needs to be empurpled. (I'd used a picture of a black thong.) The question is: what shade of purple? I gather the Roman purpurus was a sort of burgundy-purple shade. However, I seriously doubt if any of the Thong Throng were asking themselves what General Lucius wore under his toga. I rather suspect they were thinking more of watching the Nightcrawler stripping onstage at the Raven. Violet? Magenta? Grape? Inquiring minds want to know.
