The "EC' story to which she refers was a parody about Nick being hooked on
a TV show called "Eternal Champion," IIRC. I just scanned through my old
mailboxes and couldn't find it, but maybe someone who keeps better records
than I do might have it?

I have a lot of Tippi Blevins' stories, including the Eternal Champion ones.
I was a compulsive archiver during the list heyday of the stories I really
liked.

All I know is that, according to assorted online sources, the subligaculum
took various forms, including both a loincloth and something rather like a
pair of shorts. The garment in the Wikpedia picture was apparently
photographed at the Museum of London--but don't ask me where *they* got it!

Alas, this fascinating thread comes from June 1996, and the FORNI-L archives
only include three months' worth of digests for that year--April, May, and
June. Then there's a big gap until we get to 2000, after which we have the
full collection up to the present.
Apparently, Nancy Braman does have some more material that she was
bequeathed by Susan Garrett. However, I have no idea when it dates from.
