Subject: Faction icons
I've just posted another batch of icons. All are for "new" factions of one
sort or another--though I hasten to add that I haven't jumped the gun on any
of the new names being discussed in the last few days. (Well, okay, maybe
the Vetterans' icon, given that people seem to like the idea of applying the
name to a faction for Tracy's family.)
So what do we have?
Well, I've been mentioning the Blue Knighties for a couple of years now.
And we've got the Sparklers (thanks to Liz the Lucky!) and the Sweet
Alyssums (which were Andrew's idea). Then there are the History Buffs, who
may never have been formally a faction, but who certainly exist--for we have
plenty of "small letter" history buffs, judging by the number of
historical/flashback stories people have written over the years. And I've
tossed in one more.

As a Vaq + InCarnate, I have no problem with referring to the VampireMadre &
Master of Javier Vachon and The Inca, as "Angel" - I always just thought that
was her name , {which was one of the reasons I took it for my ForeverKnight
name :)= }

She's often called Angel, which may be the way the "Black Buddha" script
referred to her. I don't think that's supposed to be her actual name,
though. I think it's because, as Vachon lay dying, she seemed like an angel
to him.

Actually, there is a YaHoo LIST for "The CREW" -- me Thinks da ListMum iz Libs,
Screed's dear friend !!!
I know that The Crew refers to Screed, Vachon, Urs, and Bourbon.
Also,
Do not know if the follow have been mentioned:
1) Roman Goddesses: RoGeS : Lacroix & Urs relationship (excerpt from List
description for YaHoo Group- am member) "whether for friendship, support,
company, or love. We are called the RoGoS: Roman Goddesses, after what Lacroix
called Ursula in the episode "Black Buddha."..."
2) DarkHearts : Relationship between Javier Vachon + Urs {maybe name taken
from Hearts of Darkness ep?} Please realize not all of us saw nor believe in
Vachon & Tracy being romantically involved. (IMHO Vachon was Tracy's
friend + Nick made him her protector.) But Javier obviously cares about Urs
on many levels of his own choice- -1st as her VampMaster and most definitely
they care about each other thru the yrs & even still-- as persons, friends,
romantically ?!
3) I may have missed this, but did u cover the RatPackers for SCREED (my
apologies -if u did + tis my oversight)
4) What about TRAN -Lacroix's Vietnamese Vampire son in season 2 ep "Can't
Run, Can't Hide" (He's the Vampire with the extremely wonderful long hair)

my personal Thanks as a Vaq + InCarnate for both our Icons -- I think the one
for the Inca is especially lovely !

Here is my two cents. My vote is for the Bourbons meaning the Bourbon faction.
The name "Lost Boys" reminds too much of the teen horror film from 1987,
where the vampires were not only having fun but also a bit on the evil side.
So for my part the Vachon "crew" could be named as Musketeers, so we could
include easily Urs into it. And it would give more historical perspective for
the "crew", because we see them mostly as a flashback. Or at least I am
thinking that the "crew" is something belonging into past and in 90's it's
more or less in an inactive state.

Guys, I put out a general note a few days ago, reminding everyone of this
rule:

As Stonetree once put it, these are not suggestions. Limit your quotes as
above. If it's not clear, then please write to me, mclisa1014@g....... for
help.
Please check your post before you send it. Your mailer might have added
the whole previous post without your realizing it. If that's the problem,
let me know. We'll work on it.
I don't want to have to nopost overquoters, but I will if I must.
For those of you who haven't had this problem, and those whom have in all
other ways, thanks for making this list in general a joy to administer.

Please make sure your mailer sends messages to Forkni-l in plain text
only. In particular, don't use a line ender. If you do, those of us who
aren't on the same program get a line ending in the middle of the line on
screen, and and =sign plus a number. The same is true for anything that
isn't plain text.
If you don't know how to fix this, go ahead and ask onlist. Someone will
have had the problem and will know how to fix it.
