I'm unable to read 2 of the pages for some odd reason. Jonathan Frid's Barnabas Collins was my first reluctant vampire. My love of Barnabas Collins led directly to Nick Knight. I was one of those kids who raced home from school to see *dark Shadows. *Mona 'This plan will work.' ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2012 18:21:17 -0700 From: Stephanie Krol <s.hand@a.......> Subject: Re: Dark Shadows Article Link I am with Ramona. Never missed an episode and was crushed when the show was canceled. Not withstanding the rubber bats on string it is still wonderful. Barnabas of course was not as gorgeous (but still had a presence, his cane and ring;) as Nick or as evil as La Croix but 30 years did bring some improvements. And of course watched Dark Shadows on Sci-Fi channel still watch every Joan Bennett old movie on TCM. If Dark Shadows and or Forever Knight were on streaming Netfilx, I am there! I have not watched the Twilight serious but I might get around to it one of these days. Forever Knight was on when I was receiving chemo-therapy and was glad to have something else to think and dream about besides being sick. The idea of immortality when I was so ill was naturally appealing. I'd like to be able to include something to characterize the faction besides a "dark" version of the NatPack symbol (i.e. a modified caduceus). I'll put one of those in, too; but I usually add something extra. I'd *really* rather prefer to avoid using the wine glass of Ribena again! There's no doubt that it nicely symbolizes the vampire; but I've used it on the Dark Knighties and Twilight/de Soir icons, *and* the Ravenette icon. (Plus LaCroix holds another glass of it in the Light Cousins icon.) I like Ribena myself, but one can have too much of a good screencap. I tried a crimson rose; but, to me, that seems more appropriate to symbolize the Dark Nick and NatPack. I guess the problem is partly that I'm having trouble coming to grips with a "dark" Natalie *aside* from her romance with Nick. Do you have any ideas what I use to symbolize "dark Nat" in her own right? I suspect the relationship between Barbabas and Julia is what set me up for Nick and Nat. Mmmm... can you alter the actual image of Natalie? Made her look more like Janette? Lighten her skin-tone towards "never saw the sun again", darken/fancyup her clothing, add a décolletage? Images from when she had dinner that time with LaCroix may make a suitable starting point... A simple head-shot where she has fangs would also get the point across very nicely.
