For anyone interested in getting a feel for Pompeii without the expensive trip
to Italy, the Cincinnati Museum Center is hosting "A Day in Pompeii" featuring
more than 250 objects from our favorite doomed city. It also includes several
multi-media displays of everyday life and that final 24 hours in 79 AD.

Details are available at cincymuseum.org or 1-800-733-2077.

For our western contingent, the same exhibit will be coming to Denver later this
year, and yes, this is the same exhibit that was in Boston and New York last
year.

I think I might go down while I'm on vacation in late April. Anyone choosing to
attend should be wary of the possibility of LC remenising over their shoulder.

This sounds like the same display I saw several years ago in Birmingham. If
so, I HIGHLY recommend it!--Libby

I saw the exhibit in NYC last year... so powerful. I nearly cried at the body
cast section... Really brings to life that even though it was 2000 years ago
these were real people.

I think that's why I love history so much.

How totally cool would it be if Nigel Bennett narrated the exhibit?

Subject: A faction for Marian Blackwing?

When I brought up the idea of a faction for Marian Blackwing, Ramona Jackson
said she thought one already existed, called the "Blackwing". Well, it's
not on the wiki; and I also checked both The Forever Knight Faction List (at
http://fkfaction.hellish-alchemy.org/) and the Affiliations FAQ on Mr.
Happy's website. Of course, that's not to say that the name "Blackwing"
wasn't proposed for the faction at one time! It just means that it was
never formally created.

So far, there have been three suggestions--to which I would add fourth.

1. Blackwing (proposed by Mona)
2. the Marianettes (proposed by Walt)
3. the Wing Nuts (proposed by Laurie of the Isles)
4. the Shamans (proposed by Greer)

Any more ideas out there?

I have checked my email back to July 2004 and didn't find any factions.
I wonder if I still have my zip drives which has email back to 1999 .....
