Perhaps we could have a award for the best FK fan fiction in her name to remember her by and do this once a year perhaps on her birthday a suggestion from someone who enjoyed her work. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe". Marcus, B5 ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Aug 2011 05:00:37 +0000 From: amilynh@c....... Subject: Re: WorldCon The recipient there who talked about Susan was Tara O'Shea. She was in FK fandom and on the list way back in the beginning. She also wrote a little here, then in HL, and dozens more. If you've been in any of several dozen fandoms, you probably knew or encountered Tara, just like being in small fandoms would mean someone almost inevitably encountered Susan. Amy Hull ----- Original Message ----- Actually, watching the ustream recording (http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/16783348), one of the winners of the Best Related Works category gave Susan a special thank you and said some very kind words. Not related to FK, of course, but it was so very nice to see that other fans outside our FK community appreciated her as much as we did. That clip is just shy of the 2hr30min mark, for those interested in seeing what was said. Make sure you have kleenex handy.
