Why not make the FK part the flashback and the Flashpoint (or whatever) the present time? It doesn't always have to stay in the show's format. I like that idea. Even if you are one of the "they (nearly) all died" purists, LaCroix could be in the present day Flashpoint part of the story with the other FK characters in the flashback. Flashpoint, for those of you who have never heard of it, is a Canadian police drama that also airs in the US. It is a summer replacement series, Friday nights on CBS. CBS picked it up a few years ago during the Television writers strike and it has enough of a following that it has come back each summer for the last few years. It is set in Toronto (as Toronto!) and focuses around the "Strategic Response Unit". They are an elite Metro police unit that have dual training as both negotiators and as S.W.A.T. The episodes almost always start in the middle of the story, the "flashpoint" where things will ultimately either go well or go badly. Then it will slide back to an earlier time period where the story begins. My favorite thing about Flashpoint is that it doesn't always have a happy ending. Sometimes the SRU can bring things to a good conclusion, sometimes they have to take the bad guys out. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. One of the things that strikes me as odd is that while it is produced in Toronto there are very rarely actors that I recognize from Forever Knight. I have seen a few Due South alumni from time to time. I would love to see Nigel on this show. As LaCroix would be great but really any kind of evil genius would be fun. I wondered if anybody had written any crossover fiction yet because it just seems like it would be a natural thing. They are in the same city and work for the same police force. Granted there is the chronological lag but as mentioned above, the FK part of the story could be the flashback. Or we can use our mental digital cameras and edit in more current technology elements. (Hey if George Lucas can do it, so can we!) Lori ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Aug 2011 20:35:38 +0000 From: chimel23@c....... Subject: The loft Can someone remind me please of the addresses for the buildings used as the loft and the first season precinct, the old bank building? I'm trying to Google Earth-search them and GOogle itself isn't helping.
