Enforcers...canon & fanon (2) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 3 Apr 2011 16:25:27 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: Enforcers...canon & fanon So there I was, innocently deciding which unwritten wiki article was going to be done next. I decided to browse through the list of websites that didn't yet have their own pages, and checked out "Forever Knight Enforcements", which now exists only on the Wayback Machine. The result was this: http://foreverknight.wikia.com/wiki/Forever_Knight%27s_Enforcements. (Sadly, the website--as archived--is incomplete; in particular, it is missing all the graphics relating to the Enforcements' role in War Ten. However, it does have all their story collection.) After doing the page on the website, of course, I then had to update the pages we have for the Enforcements faction and the Enforcers themselves. And then I got thinking. Enforcers actually only appeared in one episode, "Unreality TV". There were two of them, both silent goons with long-fanged snarls. We never saw them or their kind again (though they were mentioned once or twice). As far as canon goes, there could just be the two of them (!)--and their enforcement of the "code" could even maybe be their own private mission. In fan fiction, it's a whole other thing. Fan authors have done a lot of elaboration on the Enforcers' ancient history and world-wide organization. Quite a few have worked on Enforcer fic; and some people have been very influential. The Enforcements faction is only part of it. So here I am, wanting to fatten up our wiki article on the Enforcers with some *more* info on the way(s) they've been interpreted by fans. Who elaborated their history/organization how? What has become sufficiently fanon to be used by more than one author? Which fanfic should be mentioned? I know there are Enforcer fans still out there! If Ronni Katz -- Ron the Enforcer -- is still on here, Ron developed a lot of it. Greer, if you don't have the address, I can put you in touch. Otherwise, I remember Ger told a con somewhere that originally the Enforcers could speak and had lines indicating great wisdom. However, two stunt men had been cast for their looks. This was fine until they spoke, whereupon they sounded like 20th c. Toronto stuntmen. Hence their silence when not snarling in the episode as produced.
