John had a small role in tonight's episode of "Castle," playing a
former mobster who took the rap for a murder he didn't commit. What's
impressive about it is that I didn't recognize him the first time I
watched it; only on rewatching did I realize it was him, and that was
because I recognized his voice. His body language and delivery is so
different from Schanke--and many of the other characters he's
done--that I saw the character he was playing instead of *him*. Nice
work, John!

If I'm not mistaken, they replay "Castle" eps on the ABC website, and
if not, I'm pretty sure you can watch it on Hulu in a few days.
John's part is at least halfway into the hour-long ep.

Funny you should mention this! DH & I spotted another FK connection last
night, as we watched season 2 of Castle on DVD. The plot of the Castle
episode "Love Me Dead" has some striking similarities to FK's season 2
episode, "A Fate Worse Than Death". So much so that I double-checked to see
if Gillian Horvath was perhaps writing for Castle. But no, imitation is
simply the sincerest form of flattery.

Your humble & obedient servant,
Angela Gottfred

I saw it. It was wonderful to see him. I thought he looked great.
